She accused my wife of breastfeeding our child. Then continued to tell us that breastfeeding was unacceptable in the area we were in.. In short my wife was not breastfeeding our child , but shadowing him from the sun while he slept. When we were approached by the senior member of the club and she made her accusation, I told her that she should mind her own business and continue on with her day. ( since we were in no violation of club policy) She did not take kindly to the way that she was spoken to and reported us to management. I spoke with management to ensure that we were doing no wrong and he confided that we were in no violation. Later that evening we received a phone call saying that we were not welcome back to the club. And also heard that the accusing women said that I cursed at her and raised my voice... Which is a complete LIE.. I guess the point of this review of the club is that outsiders are not welcome. They are prejudiced against anyone that they perceive are not wealthy or equal to their status. As guest of a member (who pays a significant amount of money a year to enjoy the facilities) I feel that it is unacceptable treat guests and family members in a condescending and disrespectful manor.

This past week end 10/15/17 we had a first birthday bash for our first grandchild. This wasn't a big party but it was perfect. More food than we expected, absolutely fantastic service led by their food and beverage manager "Kenny" more importantly our guests thought it was just PERFECT as well as the phone keeps ringing telling us how happy they were. I found the course sometimes challenging especially when I am trying to find my ball in the long fescue rough. Also they have well protected greens with some difficult bunkers. But overall the course beauty off set its difficult play. We had lunch in the new renovated Members guest grill room seated at the bar area that faced the ninth hole. The restaurant walls and floor were in the traditional wood you would find in most Golf Country Clubs. We ordered a salad with Salmon Fish Taco's and Grill Chicken over salad. Overall lunch was okay but the bartender was Frank was great.

Good balance of different types of things to do, including a few animals upstairs. The town play set area is very cool, and I love that they have a rotating exhibit space. It was trains when we were there, themed to Thomas the train with both a ton of tracks to play with, as well as life sized Thomas train characters. Had to drag my son out of there, however luckily their gift shop is decent with legitimate toys versus just cheap crap. Would definitely come back here.

I'm giving it 5 stars because it's truly a beautiful place to spend a couple of hours. Whether you want to leisurely stroll through the gardens, take lots of photos, or do a little of both, about two hours feels just right. There's also plenty of free parking, which makes visiting easy. While the current admission price of $22 per adult feels a bit high, the beauty of the property and the overall experience still make it worth the visit. Throughout the year they host great special events, including classic car shows and an incredible illuminated pumpkin trail before Halloween that has become a Long Island favorite.

I definitely recommend checking Google maps using Google Earth view before you go because we ended up getting lost and couldn't find the entrance for 15 minutes. A lot of local libraries do offer Old Westbury Gardens passes so definitely check out your local library before purchasing tickets to see if they're available!
