I am so happy with my choice of hiring DJ Binh for my wedding. He was an absolute pleasure to work with right from the start. He played all the songs we wanted, and chose the rest of the music based off our tastes. He played to the audience and to the people on the dance floor. We had a multi-cultural and multi-generational guest list, but he managed to choose the right song every time. The ceremony and reception went perfectly. Todd (The Rock God!) was the most amazing DJ for our special day. The passion he has for his work is truly unmatched. From the beginning of the process to the end, he was extremely communicative and offered guidance on anything we asked. It is clear that he is a professional. He offered advice on how to make things run more smoothly and made us feel so comfortable in trusting him with keeping the night upbeat and moving along. He made announcements seamlessly and was able to keep the dance floor going the whole night while making sure we were informed with everything going on. For the ceremony, Todd provided the officiant and groom with clip-on wireless microphones so there were no microphones in the pictures. The sound quality was perfect. Todd was prepared with a back-up microphone, but it was not needed. Todd was also able to take our playlist requests and create the exact vibe we were looking for. During our prep call with Todd, he made sure to take note of the songs we absolutely wanted to hear...along with those we absolutely did not. Todd kept the dance floor packed all night. We had the privilege of having Jason Remaly DJ our wedding and we couldn't be happier with our decision. Jason was so great and all that we asked for. Choosing a good DJ can make or break your event, especially one as important as a wedding! We went with Jason because my husband's sister had him DJ her wedding and he only had great things to say about his experience then. Jason ran the night EXACTLY like we asked. We had very adamant requests not to make anything about the night too cheesy/corny yet not too explicit. Jason stayed within those parameters perfectly and really made our big night into one to remember. We didn't give him a long list of songs (which you CAN do) because we trusted him to stay within those requests and play an awesome selection of songs and he totally came through! All of our guests had a GREAT time and not a single negative thing was said about the music/emceeing of the night. Most professional DJs are going to know how to set up properly and make sure the sound is decent. Jason definitely covered all of these aspects and much more with excellence. My new wife and I were married on 9/12/14 at the William Penn Inn in Gwynedd. We came across Silver Sound DJ through various online searches and met with Michael Kane. After meeting with Michael we were sure he would be the best choice for us. He understood the type of vibe we wanted and had a lot of experience. We were very hands off when it came to our DJ, picking our first dance song, father/ daughter, mother/son songs, and a few other specifics, but otherwise trusted in Michael. He did not disappoint! My wife and I used Binh Nyugen from Silver Sound for our wedding in January 2014 and could not be happier with our experience. Finding Our DJ: One of our must haves for our wedding was to have an incredible DJ. After spending far too much time looking into many different DJ companies, we reached out to Silver Sound along with four other companies. Silver Sound responded with a website link that had a list of DJs who were available for our wedding date. The website was very easy to use and allowed us to learn all about the DJs, including mix samples, equipment, and specialties. After reviewing the list of DJs, we chose to schedule an interview with Binh. In our initial interview with Binh, he showed up completely dressed up. We initially thought he was heading to another gig afterwards, only to find out months later that he was dressed specifically for our interview. We spent well over an hour learning all about him and Silver Sound. What separated Binh from the other DJs we met was the fact that he did not do a hard sale on himself or Silver Sound. Instead, he took the time to understand what we wanted in our DJ and our wedding night. We left that meeting knowing we had found our DJ. Wedding Planning: Silver Sound and Binh made the wedding planning process incredibly easy. Their website took care of everything... where we could provide our playlist, wedding details, bridal shower names, do not play list, and so much more. Binh remained in close contact throughout the process and was quick to respond to emails and phone calls. A week prior to our wedding, he arranged for a video conference to go over all the final details. He was extremely helpful in providing suggestions for our night. Wedding Day: By the time we arrived at the reception, Binh was already set up in the reception hall and had music playing in our cocktail hour room. He was really patient and professional in working with our roudy party, and did an amazing job introducing our family and wedding party. His music selection for dinner hour was perfect and exactly what we wanted, despite the fact that we provided him very little direction. For the dancing portion of the night, Binh played every song we put on our list, and even managed to fit in a most of the songs that we and our guests requested on the spot. His mixing abilities were mind blowing, at times, mixing three different songs together. The dance floor never emptied at any point in the night. Many of our guests were saying that they wished we had another hour to keep dancing. A number of our friends and family also approached us asking for his contact information. Summary: Words cannot express just how great Binh was. Everything from his professionalism to his DJ abilities were everything that we wanted. He is very well-spoken, accomodating, and personable. You can tell he has extensive experience working at many different types of weddings, as he was able to provide us with much-appreciated recommendations. We hired Silver Sound Entertainment for two wedding we had this past summer. The first DJ we hired was DJ Paul Acker he was excellent. Kept the guest engaged, interacted with bridal party, played all the music we requested. Total professional in all aspects. The second DJ we hired, was horrible. DJ Bob Kendra. DO NOT ASK FOR HIM TO DJ YOUR WEDDING. Arrived with a chip on his shoulder. Did not play our music list that we spend hours working on. Did not engage with the bridal party or the guest. If he spoke 20 words into the microphone all evening it would be a miracle. People were not on the dance floor. Did not listen to instruction when we tried to get the wedding back on track with him. At 10:00 pm he pulled his equipment and left. Not saying good night or hope you had a great evening, it was just unplug and leave. Paul was a great communicator and so we gathered that skill would make him a great DJ for our wedding. We met with him in person and spoke to him several times over the phone. We used his website program to load our song list. Our wedding was small and the venue had an outdoor deck/stage with electrical outlets for all of his gear so we figured it would be an easy late afternoon event for him. When he arrived that Memorial Day Weekend 2 years ago he exclaimed that his car had gotten sick which is why he was later than expected and forgotten his pop-up canopy in the event of rain. Well, he must have forgotten extra clothes too. We had a 5min splash of rain after the ceremony and Paul decided to grab a bunch of trash bags and draped them all over his equipment in our garden area, which made for atrocious pictures. His clothes became wet and he started looking so sloppy that several of our male guests offered him spare shirts and combs. He set the music to keep playing background noise and disappeared for an hour. He then played the wrong first dance song and incorrectly introduced us, not once but 3x, which went from being a Freudian slip to homophobic and mortifying. He then played nothing but country music and all of our guests ended up leaving prior to us. In short, Paul put on a good show up until the day of the event and then flopped so miserably that we received a full refund from his company. We wouldn't recommend him for anything and if your LGBTQ or a supporter steer clear of this train wreck. We got married 2 years ago and are still devastated. read more

I had my wedding at the Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue. The wedding coordinator gave me a stack of business cards of recommended vendors, and Silver Sound was among them. My husband and I had been slacking on our wedding planning, so we didn't get around to booking a DJ until maybe 6 weeks before our wedding. When I called Silver Sound, I spoke with their coordinator, Steve. At first I was put off that he rudely commented on the late timing for booking a DJ, but when I realized he wasn't going to be the DJ, I stuck it out. He sent me info for 5 DJs and Binh was one of them. We live in LA and didn't get a chance to meet with Binh in person, but we had a webcam meeting that went well. We liked his personality and his experience with another fusion wedding. We were also amused that he has an engineering background and he moonlights as a DJ. We didn't get quotes from any other non-Silver Sound DJ, and we've never hired a DJ for a wedding before, so we can't speak to the fairness of cost exactly. The price seemed high, but so did everything else in wedding planning, guess that's just life. I did end up working with Steve a bit for the custom monogram design. For some reason the sample photos of monograms looked great, but their sample monogram styles themselves look like duds. I ended up designing the monogram myself because I could dream it up so much better. Since we were planning the wedding from afar, email communication was very important to us and that went well. Binh even stayed up late to have a late telephone meeting with us before the wedding. The contract said we were supposed to enter our playlist requests 3 weeks before the wedding, but we were slacking on everything so we were still tweaking things almost right up until the wedding and Binh didn't give us any grief for that. We used Binh to play ceremony music as well as the reception. When he showed up to setup equipment, he was hustling. We needed a lapel mic because we hired a Bollywood dance instructor who needed it, and Binh didn't have one but he went out and got one, we chipped in for it, and it worked out well. The monogram looked good and the kids loved running around on it. Everyone at the wedding had a blast. read more

Taz made the entire process of planning our wedding a smooth process. We had our first initial meeting with Taz via phone as we were planning our wedding out of state. Taz had a great personality and was very interested in getting to know us and our tastes. My husband is a huge music lover and had a very particular vision for the music at our wedding. Taz was familiar with even our most eclectic songs and was able to provide suggestions to make our wedding music comfortable for all our guests. He was also knowledgeable about the venue which had an unconventional setup and was able to provide suggestions on timing and schedule that allowed the wedding to run smoothly and seamlessly. During the wedding, Taz brought a great personality and was able to keep things moving according to schedule in a polite and timely manner. He brought a great energy to the event and the music was impeccable. All of the songs we requested were played and Taz was able to incorporate additional music to round out our selections. We received multiple complements on our music through out the event. Taz was also patient and willing to jump on the phone at any time to discuss details. DJ Taz was an absolute pleasure to work with for my wedding. He provided music for my cocktail hour, ring exchange ceremony, and wedding reception. His cues were all on time, and his pronunciation of my family's names (including many Indian and Chinese names) was very accurate and rehearsed. We gave very specific instructions regarding introductions of various events and songs, and he performed all of them as we had asked! I made a special request for him to transition between American pop/funk/soul songs, Bollywood songs, and very specific regional songs from Assam, India. He did so with exceptional skill, and seamlessly moved in between these songs by reading the crowd and figuring out what made them excited at each given moment. I also appreciated how he explicitly asked for everyone to come to the dance floor after the cake cutting to officially start dancing. This really removed any awkward and time-consuming moments where people would slowly trickle onto stage (as I have seen in other events). We requested quite a few songs, and he played most of them! Note, for many popular songs, he tends to mix them with dance beats, which we thought was awesome. However, if you really want to hear a particular song in the exact form it is in, be sure to include specific instructions. ***Summary: DJ Taz is very professional and great to work with. He follows instructions very well, is a very engaging and exciting emcee, and is a versatile DJ who can seamlessly transition between multiple genres. We hired Silver Sound for our Son's graduation party. They were on a list provided by the facility where we had the event. While our DJ Steve was very polite and nice he did nothing throughout the event to coordinate things with the caterers or to interact with the guests. He even had to be told to make the announcement that the food was being served. Even after being informed by us twice that the music he was playing wasn't getting the crowd dancing he did nothing to change it. He did nothing to get the guests dancing, asked for no information about what the event was and seemed to just have downloaded his play list and pressed play for 4 hours. He actually looked bored and made the guests bored also. So bad that one time when he was approached at his setup he was actually watching Netflix on his IPad. We will never hire Silver Sound for an event again. read more

These are just three of the comments that our guests used to summarize our reception and my experience with Silver Sound and DJ Paul Evans. Silver Sound made the entertainment portion of our event so easy! After an initial meeting, where we were wow'ed by Paul Evans' experience and repertoire, we were sent a site where we could add songs to playlists (for Cocktail Hour and Reception), fill in pertinent logistic information, and contact our DJ and the company for any and all questions. Phil spent weeks perfecting the Cocktail Hour playlist, while we chose to leave the reception and dancing to the expert. And Paul Evans proved to be an expert! Many of our guests opted to skip their salad course and move to the dancefloor, where they remained for the entire evening. Paul Evans was aptly able to read the room and found the perfect next song to ensure that people stayed dancing. He also used his discretion to take requests from guests (denying the slower country songs but opting for the more upbeat Latin songs like Despacito and some Pitbull). He played "Sweet Caroline" for me and my Maid of Honor (named Caroline), which my Boston family loved, and he played a sweet slow song in honor of both sets of grandparents who were both celebrating their 60th anniversary. These sincere and unique touches demonstrate how qualified Paul Evans is! Silver Sound also provided our uplighting, which turned our ballroom into my dream wedding reception. He was able to adjust the lights remotely and to our preference. I highly recommend the uplights! My experience with Silver Sound and DJ Paul Evans especially, has been nothing short of spectacular. I hired DJ Jean for my wedding and I would not recommend hiring him to future brides. My review is based on my experience with this one DJ and I think your experience will vary based on which DJ you get from Silver Sound. My main dissatisfaction with the DJ was his lack of professionalism. He was late to the ceremony rehearsal and as a result our bridal party practiced without music and he had to stay late to figure out all the electrical outlets and such. This latter part was what annoyed me the most as we actually moved our rehearsal time to suite his schedule just so he would sufficient time to check out the ceremony site setup and he was late. Then he was late on the day of the wedding ceremony. I envisioned a really calming atmosphere with soothing music playing as our first guests arrived however my guests essentially sat around for 30 minutes with no music at all and then sat and watch him setup. Thankfully our ceremony was delayed anyway due to other reasons and my guests could have been entertained with the music but our DJ was late. We also used him for the reception and it didn't get any better. We had a photo slideshow during the dinner and for some reason his assistant decided to stop the slideshow midway. Everyone booed him and then he resumed it. I still don't know why to this day he interrupted our slideshow. And during the dinner we were trying to figure out how to turn off the music so that we can begin the slideshow and the DJ and his assistant was no where to be found. We eventually spotted them at the bar getting a drink. I was fine with him getting a drink but it just shows a lack of professionalism that both (DJ and his assistant) were getting at the bar, one should have been on hand to ensure everything music related was addressed. Overall I would summarize my experience with this DJ as essentially hiring a guest who happened to have his own music and speakers. But at least your guest would care enought to ensure everything was going smoothly instead of just worrying about having a good time himself. read more

Steve Croce, Silver Sound Entertainment, was perfection and did exactly what was needed to create the party atmosphere at our wedding ! Our guests were largely a baby boomer demographic and did not call for rock out loud dance music rather background music with high points and dancing at the end. I love Steve and appreciate all of his input, elegance, intelligence, graciousness and charm. If I wasn't totally in love with my husband, I would have hit on Steve :) I would recommend him without reservation to handle any entertainment program, project, event and/or situation and he will handle it stylishly. He worked well with me as I was both Wedding Planner and Bride and was busier than a one-armed paper-hanger and stressed especially towards the end. He responded to all my requests and furnished the perfect component of entertainment/music with complete understanding and expertly. He is perfect for events and is a very special person that fits in with joyous occasions, such as my wedding, the most special day of my life. He was creative adding musical touches throughout the day and complied 100% with requests I made, including reading letters, making introductory statements for our toasts, and timing the event perfectly with the ceremony through the the 5 PM cut off time (we had an afternoon affair). DJ Binh was awesome. We hired him for our January wedding at the Ballroom at the Ben and he exceeded every expectation we had from start to finish. He was responsive and attentive throughout the entire planning process and the day of he was great. He hit every song request that we had and kept the dance floor packed the entire night.
