I booked a condo for my family in November of 2019 for December of 2020. My entire family has…read moreplanned for and booked travel for this trip. I have confirmation of my reservation in writing and it's been fully paid for including all required deposits and cleaning fees since November 2019. I was just notified today, August 18, 2020, that they are cancelling my confirmed reservation as the owner of the condo decided to use it. I've read back through all of the contracts and no where does it state that the owner has the right to do this 4 months out. This has ruined our plans and winter park stay was rude and didn't offer to help remediate the situation. Beware.

Upon arrival, we found five toilets stored in the garage, blocking one side. The next day, a delivery driver brought a sixth toilet and left it there, saying the owner had instructed him to do so. This happened while my elderly father, who has Alzheimer's, was present for the holiday weekend. Safety and comfort issues: * A broken screen on the lower level let many bugs into the house on our last night. We had to move a card game upstairs because we couldn't use the poker table because of the bugs everywhere. * The upstairs deck lacks shades or blinds on the west-facing glass doors, making it unusable in the afternoon sun. In contrast, the ground floor has shades. * The provided pots and pans were of poor quality and did not heat evenly. During our stay, my truck, parked in the garage and driven only once, had a slashed tire that went completely flat. I requested a review of camera footage but received no resolution. Despite paying an early check-in fee and requesting a late checkout, my concerns were met with automated responses. When I reported the tire damage and broken screen, the property management company referenced the listing's 4.96-star rating and said, "Not every property will be the right fit for every traveler." They closed the conversation without addressing my concerns and directed further disputes to Airbnb Support. This property was advertised as a luxury escape, but our experience was marred by maintenance and storage issues, unresolved vehicle damage, and a lack of meaningful resolution from the host team. I would not stay here again and highly recommend avoiding this property or any managed by Winter Park Escapes. After I worked with Airbnb support, which was great, we found a solution with zero help from Winter Park Escapes, as repeatedly requested by Airbnb Support. I tried to leave this review, but it looks like Winter Park Escapes changed the email address, preventing me from leaving one. The 4.96 stars seem fake, as I am sure others have experienced the same lack of respect and action by Winter Park Escapes. It seems to be a property company that's only interested in ripping people off.

Would not recommend this cleaning company. Very poor customer service. Renters would say they…read moredidn't have extra toilet paper, paper towels, or trash bags and the owner of Extreme Cleaning would say that the cleaners had stocked them and that they would charge a trip fee to go and drop off more supplies. We had about 3 renters contact us about not having extra toilet paper or supplies that were supposed to be restocked with each cleaning. We were never notified of broken items in the condo such as after the cleaners had broken the coffee maker. We only found out after our our renters contacted us and we had to get the renters a coffee maker to use during their stay. The coffee table was also broken as well as a blind in the master bedroom that we were not told about, instead we got "no damage" report after every cleaning and only found out from renters of the issues. We had renters tell us that the floors and countertops weren't wiped down and were dirty. A few times we would go up after the cleaners had cleaned and found that the dining room table wasn't wiped down, the coffee table was also dirty, there was dust in various places such as the light fixtures, around and on the tv and mantle, carpet didn't look like it had been vacuumed with small bits of stuff found on the floor as well as an obvious beer bottle label by the fireplace. Soap dispensers were often almost empty. We had to ask if there were any supplies getting low and would get late responses after we already restocked everything. Towels left out were inconsistent, one time we found only 1 face towel was left in each bathroom after a cleaning, as well as towels that were not ours and that weren't matching in color were set out. No accountability for missing linens. When asked about where missing linens were the response we got was that they have someone do their laundry and that sometimes linens get mixed up and or that renters probably took them or threw them away. Overall poor attention to detail, our guess is they spent 30-45 minutes cleaning a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo.

I rent a condo in Fraser, near Winter Park, and they helped me renovate the condo after it was neglected for 12 years by a low-paying long-term tenant. They introduced me to a great contractor who flipped the property and then found a local builder who needed housing for his management crew to rent my place for top rents in 2022. They do regular property checkups and carefully vet tenants for long-term rentals. They are hands down the best I have worked with and I use 3 other property managers in different cities and wish they all could run like Snowcapped.

The walls are not sound proofed, reminiscent of days past when folks needed to be courteous to their neighbors. The room was clean, beds made and linens washed. Overall, this isn't a 4 star hotel, but it is very comfortable and has a certain charm. My wife and I have stayed here over a dozen times over the years and find the charm and low key atmosphere inviting. If you are looking for old school charm, check this place out. If looking for modern amenities and a crisp clean modern look, move on. Pros: awesome buffet breakfast in the morning during ski season, hot tub, close to town and skiing, heat works, hot showers, game room, ski waxing room, wifi, take pets for a small charge, usually low cost per night. Cons: primitive decor, no frills.
