During the trip, I mentioned about the need for a job, he said it was worked on a few months ago prior to the trip. When we got home, I inspected the front and rear brakes and nothing was done. I don't remember the amount Kevin charged my dad, but it cost me $500 for new rotors, pads and calipers for the front, and new rotors and pads for the rear. When I knew Kev, I didn't trust him then. When I learned what he did to my dad, there is no way in hell I would ever take my vehicles to him. That said, he does know his stuff. I don't trust him with how he treats his customers, especially those who are senior in age.

It was after labor day so the city of Port Austin itself seemed pretty dead and it was a little too chilly for a proper beach visit and we were too zonked from the aforementioned wedding to embark on a kayak trip so we decided to take a stroll around the harbor. I will admit I have no vocabulary for ports and harbors and boaty things so I'm not sure if my descriptions make sense BUT I liked everything about this area. There's a great boardwalk that we enjoyed strolling to and at the very end we sat for a bit watching the birds hanging out on the rock walls further out into the water. Around the harbor you'll find most of "downtown" of Port Austin so parking in the harbor's lot is a solid jumping off point for exploring not only the waterfront but also the town. Their Michigan gov site also says that you can watch both the sunset and the sunrise from here and I definitely am making a note of that for next time!
