I went into Simmons Jewelers to get a highly sentimental, broken gold chain mended. Robin was really nice and the drop-off process was really quick. Unfortunately after a few weeks of going in and learning that my chain was not ready, they texted me to say that they lost my chain but I could go in and choose another one. My heart was broken but Hannah was really patient and helpful in finding a similar chain and I chose (and paid) for a pendant to go along with it. A couple weeks later I moved to another city when I got a text that they found my chain, so drove the 4 hours round-trip to pick it up. They did a good job, were still friendly and waived the $25 mending fee. Things happen but customer service makes all the difference! Simmons is a great place I would 100% recommend to anyone for all of their jewelry needs. Me and my boyfriend were looking for a chain for the pendant his mother made me (Blessing in disguise by Melissa Rovner) and we found a 18k gold chain of my dreams at Simmons. The only issue was that it was slightly too long for my liking. So they offered to add a hoop chain at the length I wanted so I didn't have to get rid of the rest of the gold. They did this at no extra charge, going above and beyond. Because of the interactions I had with the lovely employees and owner I decided to take a leap of faith and leave a family heirloom my grandmothers engagement ring she gave to me. Unfortunately it was missing a diamond whe it was gifted to me and needed repair. When I came back to Simmons to pick up my chain and ring both pieces looked amazing and were exactly what I wanted. I was so happy with the result I left some more pieces. 2 rings that needed resizing, a broken chain that needed repairing, and a gold bracelet that needed a couple links removed. I came back about a week later and once again everything looks amazing!!!!! I cannot express how amazing and personable the employees of this shop are. I walked in trying to buy something for the holidays. A lady walked in before me. The clerk never acknowledged me, I waited for a while patiently for the lady in front of me to finish. While I was waiting A father and daughter came in after me the clerk started assisting and speaking to them. She even paused helping the lady she was first assisting to go open a case and speak with them. even though I had been waiting a while with no acknowledgement at all. So I left. Just left Simmons! By far, it's my favorite store to visit when I'm in Winter Park. They have been my go-to jeweler for purchases AND repairs for over 20 YEARS!! Multiple other jewelry stores turned me down when I asked to get my ring sized down based on the complexity design of my ring. The owner laughed and said they're just inexperienced, and he'd have no issue getting it done, how right he was! The ring looks flawless! I had such an incredible experience that I have to share it online! I took in a clock to be taken apart and put back together on two different visits. Long story but it was a present for my daughter. STOLE DIAMONDS-- Could not locate hundreds of dollars of heirlooms I left for simple repairs after calling just an hour before to confirm pickup. Proceeded to be incredibly rude, yelling at me. Telling me it was my fault they had no idea where my order is. The female manager is severely unpleasant and was battling me over this. I thought I was going to have to call the police for them stealing. They never even asked my full name or asked for my ticket yet blamed it all on me-- a paying customer. They then charged me $80 for clasp repairs (shouldn't have been over $40). A few days later, I was reviewing my diamond bracelet and noticed over 10 small stones missing. They stole diamonds off my bracelet. Considering they were beyond unpleasant, I cannot call back. These diamonds are lost and my family heirloom bracelet is ruined. Bobby said to me don't sell that watch to a jeweler without knowing that worth point... I had several over the last few weeks offer me 12k and 9k.... I was in shock... I reached out online to "Watch Cash" and they bought my watch for well into the 40k range and I bought myself a new Daytona from Rolex direct. Apparently the market is like used cars right now the unauthorized dealers cannot get Rolex's to sell... this makes them HOT... Awful. Took an expensive gold chain in to be repaired. The sales lady said the repair could be done and for a small price. Three weeks later I called to see what the status was and they told me that they "didn't have a repair order in my name". Nothing. My chain had essentially vaporized, no trace. They then said if I could tell them the date when I brought it in they might be able to find it. I told them the date and they called me back having miraculously found it. They then told me that the specific repair I had asked for could not be done, but that they could essentially replace a part of it for 45 dollars. They asked if I wanted to do that and were surprised when I said no. No apologies, nothing. No order, no trace that I had ever brought it in. Absolutely unacceptable. read more

My Dear Husband had purchased jewelries here for me in the past & I just love each of them. I'd say every piece is really one of a kind. Although my recent experience with them was to have my wedding ring set re-sized. The rings were a little bit tight from the beginning. And I became pregnant that made the rings tighter. Although the rings could fit in my ring fingers 3 months after I gave birth, they were not very comfortable. Initially was told rings would be available in about 7 days. But when we arrived home, we received a text that they would be available the following day. Bobby Simmons took care of them. He also cleaned the gold & polished the diamond. This is the worst jewelery store I've ever encounter with regard to doing a repair. They quoted me around $100, to restring 2 necklaces. I was never called and told or asked if it would be okay if the repair was going to be $340 more than I'd been quoted for a total of $441. I was shocked!! They never called at all. I had to finally go in (6 weeks later) to find out what was going on, because I'd get a full voicemail when I called to check on progress. Plus the real kicker is they ruined my freshwater pearl & citrine necklace they subbed out to be restrung. I lost 12" of the necklace, because it wasn't restrung the same way and clearly pearls and citrine are missing. There is a string hanging and the pattern of four pearls then citrine is missing in a section of 8 pearls. They are horrible and I do not recommend them for anything since they are less than honest! read more

I've always had excellent services from Simmons and I was shocked to see they are not adhering to Orange County mask mandate. They are the most customer oriented business I have been to in a long time. I have taken multiple rings to them for sizing, appraisal, and to be polished. My most recent trip in was to have my engagement ring sized. I took a few attempts because they didn't want it to be too tight but ultimately he sized it PERFECTLY! They provided options and were very informative. They only charged us once and both times i had it back the same day so I didn't have to go without wearing my beautiful new ring! I had a piece of jewelery that I was interested in selling and Simmons Jewelers in Winter Park advertises on their website that they purchase estate jewelery. So, I gave them a call, described my item, and asked how the process works. I was told that they would be interested in seeing the piece as I described it and that I did not need an appointment, just stop by during business hours and they would be glad to work with me. The next day I called for directions...wow, the directions that they gave me from I4 were ridiculous. They had me drive all over Winter Park, when I could have taken a very direct route. I even called back and spoke to another person who stated that she didn't know why I would have been told to go that way and gave me different directions...which were about equally useless. How can they not know where they are located in Winter Park?? I finally arrived and the young sales person behind the counter ask to help me. I explained that I was bringing in a piece that I was interested in selling. She took one look and said, we wouldn't buy this, you would have to place it on consignment with us. When I explained that I had already spoken to another employee, who asked me to bring it in to have the jeweler look at it, she stated...I am looking at it!!! I asked about the jeweler's evaluation...I was told that the jeweler is not there every day and I would just have to leave the piece for him to look at it when he comes in later in the week (this is not what I was told over the phone the day before). I was told that for any more expensive piece, they don't buy it outright, but instead will only place it on consignment for a 35 percent commission on the sale (not what I was told on the phone the day before). When I tried to talk to her about the differences in how she was describing the sales process from how it had been described on the phone, she actually snorted at me and grabbed the item and took it back for someone else to look at. I waited a while and then another woman came out from the glass house behind the counter and said that the most that they could offer me was $200 for the gold value...are you kidding me...my appraisal on the piece is around 10K. She said well...without the jeweler here to evaluate the stones, that is the best that they could do. She was actually quite rude about it. Now, I had been out running errands and was not dressed in my best...but I didn't look like a crack addict either...so the uppity way that they were treating me was ridiculous. Needless to say, I took my jewelery and left. I was later told by another jeweler that the gold value in the piece alone was about $1600...and Simmons was acting like they were doing me a favor if they chopped up the piece and gave me $200....I understand wholesale vs retail...but their valuation was ridiculous. Their customer service was horrible. I later sold the piece to another jeweler, without chopping it up...for much closer to the real value of the entire piece. I had been going to Simmons for several years with no issues. Then they did a sloppy repair job replacing a small diamond that fell out of a ring -- they soldered a new one back in but the prongs were humongous on one side. It was very obvious and changed the appearance of the ring in an embarrassing way. I was trying to politely ask the manager on duty about it, to find a way to resolve the situation, and she lost her temper and raised her voice and went off on me like a crazy woman. Then after yelling at me she left me standing there stunned, and went into the back, while customers were staring in disbelief at what they had just seen. A very nice clerk witnessed the whole thing and attempted to apologize but at that point I decided to just cut my losses and leave. It's not enough that this shop is located in one of the most beautiful areas anyplace, with a great park and pavilion across the street, but the talent of the watchmaker/ owner is unique. Yesterday I brought in two watches needing attention and was blown away when he managed both while we waited and perused his inventory of new and antique jewelry items. The shop is 65 miles from our home in Melbourne and not having to return for pick up or having to ship both to a watch repair hub in Detroit (Universal) was amazing. Aside from the management of one Citizen dive watch requiring pressurization and a TAG the repairs were less than the shipping charges would have been. The added bonus was the owners (husband and wife), and staff were a pleasure to interact with. The area has tons of cute bistros, major restaurants, and businesses. (P.F. I had the batteries replaced in 3 digital watches at Simmons. 2 Timex and one Shark Classic. Everyone in the shop was really nice, very friendly, I enjoyed looking through all of the unusual "stuff" in their store. It took about half an hour to replace the three batteries, and the charge was $20.00 each. I paid the bill with cash, thanked the lady and left. When I got back to my car, a couple of blocks away, and put on one of the watches, I noticed that it wasn't set to todays time and date. Neither were either of the other two watches. The last time I got a watch battery installed was 2 years ago in The Villages, Florida. The price was $8.00, and it took, less than 5 minutes, and was correctly set when it was given back to me. I'm kind of a gadgeteer, and have worn only digital watches since I saw my first one back in the 70s. This is more than twice as much as it should have been. Should I have asked first? Probably. But I won't take my business there anymore. After I got home I called 5 other businesses than replace watch batteries. None charged more than $12.00, and all said that resetting the watch after installing a new battery was part of the service. read more

They are wonderful. I have used a family jeweler for many years and needed a new one when I moved to WP. I have had watch batteries changed and some other small work done. They are courteous and bend over backwards to help. I had an expensive watch that needed a battery and while they were replacing it the bezel broke. Brought several pieces of 14K Gold jewelry in to sell for cash. I was offered $135 after a brief evaluation by the young clerk. I decided to shop around and the following day went to a different jeweler in Orlando and sold the gold after scrupulous testing for $290. I could see some variation in price but it seems apparent that there are very questionable business practices going on here. Junky. The store is very overcrowded with too much product along with junky looking decor. The whole store looks like the last time it was redone was in the early 2000's. Needs work especially being on Park Ave you would think good products and clean modern it is nothing like that all very old looking this store is very unappealing to young adults. It also reminds me of pawn shop since how crowded and selling every item in the store. The store is strictly geared towards older crowed ,which makes no sense because Rollins College is right down the street along with Park Ave being a very popular location for UF, FSU, UCF college students to go down there to have some coffee and shop around. How the online shopping is taking off and retail is going down would not be surprised if this store goes out of business within 2 years because of the age group the stores going towards along with the junky atmosphere. The owner told me my ring would be ready on a Tuesday, but after calling and calling and calling, and even coming to the store once, it wasn't ready until like 10 days after. Why tell me it'll be ready and then not bother to contact me or inform me. I wouldn't mind waiting longer for good quality work but the repaired area is so obvious, it sticks out like a sore thumb.
