I scheduled a follow-up appointment at this office almost a month in advance and was called the day before to be informed that I needed to reschedule because "whoever made your appointment put you in a room that doesn't do this kind of ultrasound." So I called the facility back directly at the number provided to reschedule, and was given an appointment later in the day. However, an hour before the rescheduled appointment I got a text message informing me that I needed to reschedule my appointment. There were no dates, times, or locations listed on any of the messages, so I couldn't tell whether it was an artifact or a new alert. I called the number provided to find out if the message was related to the original appointment or the new appointment and learned that the new appointment didn't even show up in the system. And, in fact, none of the facilities in my vicinity had any rooms equipped for the kind of imaging I was scheduled for in the first place. Every staff member I spoke with was kind and professional, but there are serious issues with SimonMed's appointment scheduling system. Time for an upgrade. read more

Had a subpar experience here. The girl at check in desk was super condescending and just had an overall negative attitude. If you hate your job, maybe you shouldn't be the one checking in people. My check in experience was just terrible. I felt talked down to while the entire time this girl was so incompetent. I knew she was charging me incorrectly and I brought it up. However, seems she didn't really care and was getting annoyed. I was getting nowhere with her and obviously had to get the imaging done so I just had to suck it up. Never did she offer any info on how to contact billing until I asked. Next was the imaging order. Not sure why they don't have it already but I only have an electronic copy. So I mentioned that and asked if I can email it. Again she acted all snobby and acted as if I was asking the most obvious question. As if I knew the answer already on where to email it to vs uploading it into my user portal. As I was waiting, I noticed this terrible attitude given towards other check in patients. Everyone received that cold, snobby attitude. So I guess it was nice that I wasn't targeted, but she really should not be there if she has such a terrible attitude. Although I had an appointment, they weren't on time but at least this tech has way better manners. However, no one told me during the appointment booking or when I was confirming my appointment to come in without emptying my bladder and it was to be done right before imaging. Seems such important info if it was that critical for imaging, should really be known to patients beforehand. So guess what. I awkwardly tried to sit on the toilet trying to pee for a period of time cause every normal person goes at home before leaving the house. As I was finally done with my appointment. I noticed they changed people at the check in counter. This other girl seems way nicer and more patient with those checking in regardless if they are able to communicate or not due to a language barrier. read more

Horrible process for x-ray services and the people at the front desk were not helpful or respectful. We were turned away multiple times on different days for different reasons. One day it was because the x-ray machine was down. Another day was because the x-ray was full for the day even though we arrived early and double checked in advance for availability. Another time x-ray technician was unavailable. I'm not sure if answer was true. The other locations didn't have x-ray availability but at least they were clear before I wasted my time going there. Literally the first 5 seconds of me walking up to the front desk he gave me a look plus when I said I accidentally forgot my papers at home, instead of trying to find a solution or just simply telling me he would need to reschedule me, he just did the BIGGEST EYE ROLL and groaned and said "interesting". 3.5 stars, but since we cannot give half stars, boosting to 4 due to onsite staff and pricing. When it was time for my annual mammogram for 2025, my doctor referred me to SimonMed, commenting that they might offer the services that I needed at cheaper rates. Sure, I was super down for that...especially after finding that they have a facility nearby my house. Following the recommendation of my doctor, I first called to get an estimate of patient responsibility amounts for a mammogram as well as a bilateral breast ultrasound. This is when I learned that calling Corporate was a bit challenging. I first spoke to Michelle who said that she would research codes against my insurance coverage and call me back. I never heard back from Michelle. I called again and spoke to Nina who promised to deliver what Michelle failed to do. Nope, nothing. I called a third time and the customer service representative assured me that for both screenings, I would have $0 to no more than $50 out of pocket expense. Sure, that worked for me. I booked my appointment for April 8, 2025 from 11:15 to 12 PM. I was pleasantly surprised that for both screenings, I would be there for only 45 minutes. SimonMed's office in Daly City is located in the AAA building which has a private parking lot. I immediately found a spot, then went in. At check in, I had to pay $239.31 for the ultrasound. The mammogram was quick and fast. I was impressed by the friendly technician who recognized that I was experiencing pain in my shoulder area from viewing my images. Shortly after my mammogram was done, I was told that the ultrasound machine was down, so I had to return another day. Before I left, they refunded the $239.31 that I paid. I returned on April 14, 2025 for the ultrasound, but this time was asked to pay $273.48. Just like the mammogram, the ultrasound was quick and fast. The technician was also very amiable. When I returned home on the 14th, I sent an email to Billing and also called to inquire about the $34.17 delta in charge. No response, crickets! So I drove back to SimonMed on April 18 and the Front Desk Associate, Sierra Laurenson, was kind enough to write to Billing for me to send another inquiry regarding the extra charge. Finally, on April 21, May L. from Billing finally responded to my email, informing me that the amounts were just estimates and final amount would be known in a few weeks. On Monday, May 26, I wrote back to Billing, informing them that my Explanation of Benefits reflected that I had $0 patient responsibility. Pearl L. from Billing replied to me on Thursday, May 29, to confirm that they would process my refund. I couldn't help but wonder had I not reached out to them, would they have automatically refunded me? This whole experience just confirms what I told Sierra - I LOVE their Daly City staff and office, but dealing with the call center, not so much. At least pricing was great. I had a very uncomfortable experience during my recent X-ray appointment. Patients were required to remove their bras and change into the provided gown, so privacy should have been treated with the utmost importance. While I was changing behind the curtain, a staff member opened the curtain without knocking or giving any warning. At that moment, I was completely naked and had not yet put on the gown. It was extremely embarrassing and distressing to have my privacy violated in such a vulnerable situation. In addition, the changing room door was always keep open, making the area feel unsafe and lacking basic privacy protections. What upset me the most was that when I walked out afterward, the staff member acted as if nothing inappropriate had happened and did not offer any apology or acknowledgment. Patient dignity and privacy should be a priority in any medical setting. I hope the facility reviews its procedures and provides better staff training to ensure that no other patient has to experience this type of violation of privacy. read more

I had an ultrasound here and couldn't log in to their site to provide my medical info. They must have my old work email address. On the day of my test I managed to log into their site. The check in was smooth, it took around a 40 minute wait. The ultrasound lasted 30 min and was told the results would be available in 3 days. After 3 days, nothing. Normally my primary physician would call me with my results but nothing either. So I called the number 5 days later and the rep told me he'll email me the results, nothing came in and he said wait 10-20 minutes. That long? It sounded like a call center. Call back if nothing in 30 minutes. So I called back and got another rep. Again it sounded from a call center. He said it takes 24-72 hours for the email to come through and not 10-20 min. He also said I could look up my results on their website. He gave me the website and of course it wasn't valid. I had to look for my appointment notice the previous week to find their correct website and finally found my test results. This is the last time I'm going to this facility for any test done. Better to get done at a hospital. Two strikes already from my very first visit. read more

AVOID! TL;DR: Fraudulent billing that takes months to resolve! Twice! While the individuals at the location seem nice and competent enough, the billing department is either incompetent or fraudulent. Or both. I have gone to their location twice for standard medical imaging (as their name would imply). Each time they billed me incorrectly so that my insurance company wouldn't accept the claim -- pressuring me to pay the full amount (which is significantly more than insurance companies pay). Both times they claimed that I saw a doctor in the SimonMed facilities who was out of my insurance network! But: 1. I saw no Doctor, the images were sent to my doctor; 2. They intentionally chose an out-of-network doctor to review my files (when no review was even requested). For good measure, one of these claims also stated that the service was in Texas (where their central billing is), also making it out of network. Since insurance only solves one problem at a time, it took many months to resolve each separate issue. Months and months of fighting these fraudsters just so that my insurance is billed properly. From the beginning Simon imaging would text, email me, call me to make sure I was at appointment. I spoke to 3 different reps. I made sure that ALEX fax over an imaging request 3 weeks before the appointment . I spoke to the records department in radiology at Mill peninsula hospital and she gave me the fax. I was told that she would handle it. Simon med called me again a week before my appointment. I AGAIN told them about the imaging and gave them the fax number ti request medical history. Constant emails, texts and calls up until the day o. Ky appointment.. and to be 15 minutes early. I arrived 30 minutes early and they did not have my images. Lacking communication was horrible amongst the workers. I then was told they are going to be 30-45 minutes late. Sooooo, I went out to get my car washed , only to be called 10 minutes later , now in traffic , to come back. FRUSTRATING! The waiting room chairs are white and dirty looking. Receptionists were nice, but the whole experience is awful. I only came here because my insurance no longer is with Mills peninsula. The mammogram itself was more painful than usual. Horrible experience. Would not recommend!!!! STAY AWAY!! The Simon med customer service person was working remotely and all I heard were chickens in the background. After my monogram they asked me if I was going to be seen for an ultrasound after... they should k ow this information. I took both my parents to get X-rays on Saturday , 11/8. Upon arrival, the receptionist informed me that x-ray services are not offered on Saturdays. I asked if I could schedule an appointment to come back next week, she said that they do not offer appointments for x-ray services and that the Daly City office is the only one that offers X-rays. I'm writing this to let others know that everything that this person told me is not true! Monday 11/10, I called the 800 number to make sure that their other location on Sacramento St. offers x-rays, the operator told me that they do and he could schedule an appointment for me! So my message to SimonMed Imaging: get your facts straight, caregivers are taking on more than a normal "life" load, it's quite a challenge to take elders who are on oxygen and with mobility challenges to these services. Have a heart and care about what information you are relaying. Lastly, update your website, if X-rays aren't offered on Saturdays at certain locations, just let folks know. I've been following up for 2.5 weeks for the report from a standard DEXA scan, and have been given the runaround by SimonMed. Multiple times in the past week I've been told they're 'putting in an urgent request with radiology' for my report, and it would be ready within 24 hours. I'm still waiting. If you're looking for imaging in the Bay Area, there are multiple other places to go that are competent. SimonMed is not one of them. Any dr office that refers you here needs to be called out. You badgered me with emails and texts for a follow-up scan. Dense boobs! Dense boobs! You keep telling me. Yes, that's what HRT does. I book the follow-up that I didn't want and lo, you are woefully unable to action said follow-up at your chosen center (I didn't eff'n choose it but it's the only one that had both machines I needed, apparently). You didn't have random paperwork from my dr - that is backend. You deal with that. I am frontend - the patient. Your paperwork needs are not my responsibility. You wanted the appt, i notified my dr and got scheduled 2 eff'n months out by you, SimonEff'nMed. With no cancelation list. It also took you 20 mins to answer that 1 call. And the person scheduling me clearly did not have access or training for everything she needed. Took 3 hours on the phone to get this one appt that you subsequently refuse to action. Never using SimonMed again. Ever. Also, ePHI should not be emailed around in plaintext; stop asking patients to do that, SimonMed! And then your eff'n staff looking all betrayed when I said email would need to be encrypted. Encryption is a thing. Welcome to the 1990s!! Your data handling is atrocious. As is everything about your business. I will make it my life's mission to siphon away as much of your business as possible. You need to he acquired by another entity with viable HIPAA and I am not even a fan of HIPAA!! But your shoddy practices are why HIPAA exist. Stop hurting patients. The office experience and imaging results were just fine. I got an appointment quickly, and was in and out of the office in no time. My problem is this company is a bunch of crooks. At the time of service they requested payment for the amount estimated to be owed after insurance. This was approx $500. This seemed like a reasonable request and if the actual amount due was less they would refund me. My insurance processed the claim quickly and I was actually due a $300 refund. I waited for either a check or credit to my credit card and after a month I called. I was told there would be a credit issued to my card within 7 business days. When that did not happen I called back. Nothing had been done and I was told another 7-10 days. I asked to speak to a supervisor. He said he tried to process the credit but it wouldn't work. I will now apparently need to wait ANOTHER7-10 days for a check. My main issue with them is that had I not called, they would have kept my credit balance. They do not seem to have a process for refunding credit balances automatically. I'm sure there are people who don't know to check their EOBs and don't realize they are owed money back - possibly quite a bit. That said, they are more reasonable than the hospital, but make sure if you pay an estimate at time of service that you follow up on the claim. read more

Chose SimonMed as they could get me in within 3 days vs. 10 days staying at UCSF. I had a 7:30 am appointment today (Monday). SimonMed called Friday to say they didn't have an order from my doctor yet. I called back, and it took me 6 attempts to finally speak to someone who could help. I was either accidentally hung up on, or mistakenly transferred back to the main telephone tree the first 5 times. All for them to tell me they still didn't have the order. I called today at 6:00 am before heading from SF to Daly City to make sure they had the doctor's order. They confirmed they did. Great. I arrived only to be told "we don't have an order." I was told that their scheduling team must have made a mistake and there was nothing they could do. Great. I sat in the parking lot and called scheduling. After some run around, I got a supervisor who confirmed they DID have the order but because my doctor wasn't in their system, they would need to add him before I could proceed. What?!? Like you have the order, which is all you told me you needed, and now you're adding a new hurdle? But don't worry...they can expedite the input and have it done within 48 hours. I would have been better off just waiting for UCSF. Lesson learned. read more

When you show up for the appointment, the people at the front desk are rude and incompetent. 3. My appointment was at 11:30, I and was told to show up 15 min before my appointment, but had to wait an hour and a half for an MRI. Nobody says anything to you . 4. They double booked themselves. We had a 10:00 a.m. appointment for my mom. We checked in before 10 and ended up waiting for over an hour. I spoke to the receptionist, but she wasn't willing to check what was going on. Later, we saw the technician return with a lunch bag--meaning she had left to get lunch during our scheduled time. There were two other people who also had 10:00 a.m. appointments and were waiting with us. After a two-hour wait, it was finally our turn. The scan itself only took 10 minutes. I understand that delays happen, but being two hours behind schedule and then finding out the technician was out during office hours is unacceptable.Terrible experience. No respect for people's time. I had a 4:15 PM ultrasound appointment and arrived at 4:21 PM--just 6 minutes late. The front desk immediately told me they had to cancel my appointment because the technician was leaving at 4:30 and "the machine is already turned off." Seriously? Why on earth would you schedule a 4:15 appointment if the technician is done at 4:30? That's either poor planning or just blatant disregard for people's time. And to make matters worse, nobody called or texted me while I was on the way to warn me I was at risk of being canceled. They just waited for me to walk in, then coldly turned me away. But the absolute worst part was the staff's attitude--completely unprofessional, cold, and condescending. I was treated like an inconvenience, not a patient. No empathy, no flexibility, no apology--just an eye-roll and a "we have to cancel you." I left feeling time wasted and angry. This clinic clearly doesn't care about patients, and their communication and scheduling systems are a joke. I had a 6 am appointment on 4/8/25 for an MRI. The day before someone called and I was told to come in at 5:45 am for my 6am appointment. I arrived at 5:20 am and I was expecting the place to be open but it wasn't so I called 3 times spoke to 3 different people and I was told that they open at 6am. Now, I came in at 6am and I asked the front desk what time do they open and why I was told to come in at 5:45 am if the place is open at 6 am. The front desk lady was rude and said "well the staff just got here and proceeded and o type whatever in the computer and then she asked for my ID soo told her then why the F did they told me to come in at that time when they open at 6am, she then told me well the staff just got here and cussing is not going to get you anywhere! Mind you I wasn't cussing at her or nobody I was cussing because of the situation. It was the way she said it and her tone of voice like she was reprimanding a child. I have been to both San Francisco and Daly City office and I was never talked to like that. Instead of diffusing the situation or apologizing with the mixed up. I end up leaving the facility because no one should be talked to that way at 6 am in the morning when it was not my fault. read more

My dad had an appointment at 10am. We didn't go in until 11am. Everyone else after us has already gone in. Workers all have attitudes and are extremely rude. One shooed my dad away like a dog, while making an annoyed sound. Another talked to me with so much attitude when I was just asking a question. I give no stars to Simon Imaging. I called the 800 number to make an appointment from my doctors instructions. When I got through to the Phillipines, the guy told me they don't accept Medicare or private secondary insurance. That made no sense to me, that they wouldn't take my private insurance. So, I called back and asked them how much was the CT scan? He said $100.00. I was stunned, and asked him to double check, because that is too low of cost. He reassured me. I tried numerous times to call the site directly to get the skinny, no phone is provided locally, just the Phillipines. So, I called the only number and got the a guy in the Phillipines again, and I asked to be connected to a manager. He put me on hold and never came back! I told my doctor and they prescribed I go to UCSF. I chose Burlingame and so happy I did! State of the art equipment and facilities. There's a receptionist and a person answering the phone. The technician was excellent and so friendly. The professionalism is what one would expect from a medical facility in the Bay Area. I got results in 2 days. I continue to get text and email notifications from Simon to set up an appointment. So, I had to block them. Looking at the other reviews here, I am disgusted he would treat patients so shabbily. Two stars here at the time of writing this review and it didn't elicit a lot of positive thoughts or confidence when my doctor referred me to thjs location. They were nice enough on the phone and were able to squeeze me in for an appointment within two weeks rather than the 3 months it would have taken UCSF. Upon arrival you can kind of see why there are some low review ratings. 1. the building is old and 2. the gps takes you behind a building with three different lobbies. Once inside you can get a little bit turned around. From the parking lot, I came in through the central lobby doors, took the elevators to the 2nd floor and followed the small signs to simonmed imaging. The place was busy - tons of people waiting around and two busy receptionists. seems like most folks were walk-ins because I waited only for a few minutes before getting ushered in to the changing area. Gowns were clean, changing area was packed with tons of laundry (used gowns overflowing) and seats to wait in. There werent any frills, but the tech was great...fast, efficient, answered my questions, and got me in and out in a jiffy! read more

After many attempts on line and on the phone I was finally scheduled for a DEXA scan. When the day came I received a call to say the tech was sick and I'd need to reschedule so once again I went through the process. I showed up for the scan only to be told the tech was sick and I'd need to reschedule. Prior to my appointment I received multiple texts saying the input on my forms was invalid and to check my information. My information was 100% accurate but I received no response as to what they considered invalid.
