I decide to Updating a Medical Malpractice during year 2020, I said nothing but the truth. have no problem with this Diagnostic facility. unfortunately 2020 patient had chest x ray here, received "Negative" reports from Dr Brad Piatt. he totally failure to properly read or interpret this chest X-ray, missed a super size thymoma , gave a"Negative" reports, which we could make law against him. personally know his father also a longtime radiologist, sad because, Dr. Brad Piatt didn't realized how important to done his job right. read more

If there was a way to give a zero I would. The staff is pleasant, but the corporate take over by Simon Med has made this an awful experience. you cannot even reach the office you visited. You pay loads of money and can't get access to your own medical records. I actually never write reviews, but this company is SO bad. the former Peninsula Diagnostic was a great place and so easy to work with. The lady at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful. Adrian, the US tech was pleasant, kind... very intentional. She introduced herself which you very seldom see these days... greeted me with a smile. She made me feel at ease. SimonMed started out as an efficient, lower cost option for imaging - they have been my preferred go-to whenever i've needed imaging. If you had a mammogram done here and need a copy of it, DON'T CALL THEM - unless you love complicated situations with no resolution in sight... GO DIRECTLY TO 101 S SAN MATEO DRIVE, second floor, and ask the wonderful receptionists to make you a copy of your previous mammograms - go have a coffee and pastry on 3rd street, and come back to get your CD. Done. Alternatively, you could call them and end up on their centralized Simon Med call center, wait one hour if you're lucky, or leave one or 15 messages for someone to call you back ...one day... Now, if you DO get someone, go ahead and ask them for a copy of your records. They won't have them. Now they might ask you many questions but will only confirm, in the end, that NOPE they don't have them. They'll even question whether you really had a mammo done there. If you stay with them long enough, they might transfer you to their Medical Records department. Of course they won't have time to explain your situation so if you didn't record yourself the first time, go ahead and explain everything again, give all your numbers, and get another "no we don't have your records.. are you sure you did them here?..." now in the process, if you mention "Peninsula Diagnostics" enough, one of those many people you speak to may have a lightbulb moment and say "Ooooooh Peninsula Diagnostics!! ok I know what happened.." then they'll explain how Simon Med bought them but that they don't have any of the records - but you could send a Release Authorization form and it'll take 3 weeks (maybe) to get them. The next day, you'll call again, and you will literally talk to the same people and go through the whole shpeel again to confirm they got your release form, and they will not remember a thing about Peninsula Diagnostics, bought by Simon Med, nope no records, did you really have a mammogram with us? Groundhog day... Now this could all be a good story to tell over a boring dinner, but when you've got the pressure of a doctor saying they need your records to compare results or you're going to have to get a biopsy --- not so funny. Does Simon Med care? not really. I spoke to them again, and after waiting long enough finally got to someone explaining I was NOT going to go through my whole situation again - that I wanted to speak with a manager. Poor guy seemed like he wanted to care and said he was going to get a manager for me. I'm waiting.. waiting.. til I say "hello?" and he was still there.. Are you getting a manager? - I'm talking to him now - What do you mean you're talking to him, can't he come on the phone? - no I'm chatting with him - Oh well is he going to call me? -no he's not going to because he doesn't see your records. Basically the manager didn't have the guts to get on the phone with me. Nice. I come to Yelp, and read in the reviews that you can either wait weeks to get the results. OR you can go in yourself to get them -- thank you to whoever posted that! Went in this morning, spoke with Kalo, who was SO SO NICE, who confirmed my previous 4 mammograms were in her system, and that she could get them on a CD for me - would just take an hour. Went down to 3rd street, got a pastry and a coffee, came back for my CDs, brought them myself to my doctor, and Voila - If this post can spare 1 person a fraction of the aggravation I got from the ineptitude of Simon Med, totally worth it! read more

This 5 star review is for my breast biopsy experience with Dr. Wise. The actual procedure took 5 minutes and I was out of there in 10-15 (with no post-op mammogram bc I'm younger than 30). Dr. Wise was very kind and helped answer all my questions leading up to the procedure. Needless to say I was really scared because the internet does not let you believe breast biopsies are easy but with Dr. Wise it was just the opposite. I have a very low pain tolerance and was afraid of the anesthesia shot but it was barely noticeable, and everything that followed didn't feel like anything. I can confidently say that a covid booster hurt more than the breast biopsy. I followed Dr. Wise's recommendation to take Tylenol for pain the same night as well as ice it for the next 48hrs (on and off of course), and doing this led to practically no bruising. I was so relieved to learn how easy and painless a breast biopsy can be. It goes without saying that you will be in great hands if you get a breast biopsy with Dr. Wise. read more

I am trying to get my medical records transferred to a new provider, and the only phone number provided by Peninsula Diagnostic Imaging, 650-343-1655, is currently being routed to a call center in India claiming to be "Simon Med Imaging", which does not have my records. I sent an email to the only other contact option on PDI's website yesterday. I'm not near one of their facilities right now so I'm out of options and in urgent need of these records. Maybe someone who reads this will help me, and also people should know that while the service itself may be fine, there's currently a big gap in any follow-up communication. read more

Peninsula Diagnostic Imaging overbilled me by ~$700. They can't find my account so won't provide a refund. I took my son to PDI for imaging in January. They had me pay $719 upfront. Two months later I received the explanation of benefits from my insurance company related to this visit. The EOB showed that my out-of-pocket cost should have only been $26. I called PDI several times to get a refund and spoke to numerous billing people who could not find my account. (Btw, when you call the PDI number, you are not actually calling the San Mateo office, you are routed to a call center.) After being referred to this facility for my annual mammograms for almost the last ten years, I called today and three different people could not locate me in their system. It was obvious that these people were in a call center, which they called the scheduling department. I had the last results letter from last year and gave them the exact appointment date in 2023, and they still could not locate me in their system. In fact, the second person I spoke to me hung up on me after I gave her my name and birthdate. Super shady and concerning. Breast imaging experience was the worst I had ever had in the 20 years I have been getting mammograms. I thought I would try this place. The tech asked me to completely remove the gown, saying it would get in her way, she asked me to grip my own breast tissue on the non-imaging side while I was trying not to cry out in pain, and she vacillated from breast to breast during the imaging session, thereby prolonging the pain on each side. I will never go back there for a mammogram. At most imaging centers, I am able to deal with the discomfort of a mammogram because the tech is good and the discomfort is brief. Not this time. Having said all that, I also had some pelvic diagnostic work and that went very well. read more

Undependable company. I had an MRI last Wednesday. It is nearly a week later and my MD has yet to receive the image or the radiologist report. I have called and left a couple of messages since last Friday but no one has yet answered the phone or returned my message explaining when my MD will receive the info. Today, the company is claiming a power outage in part of their installation and therefore the offices will be closed Mon-Tue! But the MRI machine is working and appointments are being processed. So why can't anyone answer the phone? I smell a rat. Cannot recommend this company. They will not be getting further business from me. read more

Super fast and competent service with a good dose of humanity :)) I went there in the early morning on a week day, I was greeted by a lovely lady, who (I learned after), was the technician who performed the EKG. The exam took literally few minutes, I was incredibly impressed by how fast the machine worked! The technician was super sweet and professional at the same time. I was able to get my records from Peninsula Diagnostic Imaging by physically going to their location on San Mateo Drive in San Mateo which is now owned by Simon Med Imaging. The receptionist had me fill out a release form, asked me for a picture ID to verify my identify and she had my files and images on a CD in about half an hour. Hope this helps someone since calling the old Peninsula Diagnostic Imaging phone number was pretty useless for getting my records. The number is now a call center for all the Simon Med Imaging locations, and she said that they could only request my records from Peninsula Diagnostic IF I scheduled with them, otherwise I was on my own to find a way to request them. 1 star because they sold their practice without notifying their patients. read more

This is no longer Peninsula Diagnostic Imaging in San Mateo. They are now Simon Med Imaging. I have no complaints about the service received at both the San Mateo and Daly City offices. However, their scheduling service is terrible. This group is not local and cannot access any of your previous data. I was trying to get the date of my last mammogram and could not get any help at all. Finally talked with a person from medical records who said the records were in "the building". What building? "The building where Peninsula Diagnostic was located." That wasn't helpful. I also don't like the fact that you have to make appointments in 2 different locations if you want a mammogram and need a bone density test. So inefficient. I talked with 4 persons before any of them said I needed to go to 2 different locations. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE!! My sister did an ultrasound on 8/14 and the report was unclear and problematic. - They have taken down the report as I just checked. Interestingly enough. Is it so hard to say sorry, provide the correct ones, and treat patients with basic professions? Not sure if the radiologists intentionally created confusion or if they only spent a brief amount of time analyzing the images, leading to incoherent statements. It's unfortunately not surprising that the quality of medical care in this country is sometimes compromised by certain individuals who deliberately create a disconnect between patients and the truth. Despite paying for their service, they seem more interested in financial gain than in providing basic assistance to us. When I contacted them to address the issue of obtaining more accurate and less problematic reports, two staff members assured me they would take action and asked me to keep track of the progress. However, this week, two other staff members named Morian and Tiffany (who seems to hold a higher position) displayed arrogance and went to great lengths to convince me that I misunderstood the report. They asserted that only individuals with a relevant degree could comprehend it, even though the mistakes and negligence within the report are glaring enough that even elementary students who are learning English would question its meaning. I'm left wondering if they would only present exact reports to patients who have specialized knowledge in fields like radiology, as those individuals might be harder to deceive? read more

This is now owned Simon Med Imaging that is pretty bad customer service. I took Mammo last year 2023 and requested imaging CD at mid 2024. I called 650-343-1655. But Call automatically transferred Simon meds Appointment central and they just transferred imaging meds record team. They gave several phone numbers of medical record team but any of them said "Just go our website, go to contact and request imaging", then the phone was disconnected. I tried to go website to request but website said no data under your name. I called and repeated this process at least three times. They just navigated me to appointment central, other request won't be cared. It is super bad customer service. read more

My doctor referred me for imaging here. The exam I needed required both a doctor and a tech. Both the doctor and the tech were very careful, kind and compassionate. They had throughly read my medical history prior to doing the exam, explained the process to me and worked well together as a team. They got the exam results to my doctor promptly. I scheduled an MRI 3 weeks in advance. When my second opinion doctor said an MRI wasn't needed, I called in advance to cancel the appointment. I was told it was already cancelled, because there was no radiologist available. I checked my emails, texts and voicemails and had received no message advising me of this. Had I not called, I would have taken time off work to get the MRI, only to be told that I my appointment was cancelled once I arrived. Very poor schedule management and unacceptable lack of communication with patient. read more

Twice now I've had my imaging sent to facilities who have failed miserably and I wind up at PDI who handle my imaging efficiently and competently. I am going to request all future orders be sent here from now on. Friendly and knowledgeable front desk and patient coordinating from Jazz and Dana who handle my authorization and scheduling quickly. They are also transparent on if patient flow is running behind which I appreciate. Great bedside manner from the techs Ron and Rhonda -- you will not feel abandoned in the MRI here. Clean facility and staff does as much as they can to improve your comfort within limits. MRI is copied to a CD and handed to you in 5-10 minutes. read more

Called to book my appointment and they put me on hold to check the fax for my order. 10 minutes later they didn't come back. I called 3 more times that day with no pick up or call back. I arrive at my appointment and no one is here. I was here for 10 minutes before an employee saw me in the waiting room and said she would go find the front desk person. She finally comes in and is cold as ice. She has me fill out paperwork after my appointment started and I said I came early to fill out paperwork. She said they include that as part of your appointment time (it's 1 page with a few questions). Just tell me that over the phone! You make me drink a ton of water an hour before my appointment then force me to sit here forever. Lastly to the front desk person: cut your nails, you look extremely unprofessional and put on work appropriate clothing. I need an ultrasound of my kidneys. For that, you have to have a full bladder. I had an early morning appointment at 9 AM. When I arrived, I asked explicitly if they were running on time. The receptionist said yes but still kept me waiting for an hour. No one super incompetent front desk person. Had a Mammogram, Ultra Sound & Needle Biopsy within one week's time. I was extremely nervous, but thanks to Clare, the Doctor's Assistant, my fears were put to rest. She explained everything in detail to my husband & I telling us exactly what to expect during and after my Needle Biopsy. She was there before, during and after the Biopsy calming my nerves, instructing me what to do @ home after my procedure and finally calling me the day after to see how I was doing. She was wonderful w/a bedside manner to be praised. Thank you Clare!! The office was clean & followed all Covid protocols throughout all my procedures. As a medical service provider, you would think that they would be more responsive and responsible. But unfortunately this is not the case. I must've called like 20 times to try to schedule an ultrasound. No one picks up. So then my doctor's office called and "miraculously" PDI picked up their call. I did a STAT ultrasound and they didn't provide the results that day as they promised. They waited the entire weekend to respond even though my Doctor called them over the weekend. This is so unprofessional. They don't pick up the calls unless they know it's from a doctors office. Today I tried calling them at least 10 times to ask about another upcoming appointment but again no one picked up. I guess I won't be able to tell them how awful they are and that I'm not going back there again for the next appointment since they don't ever pick up the phone. This place is frustrating. I was ordered an X-ray for my hand here. Upon taking it a few minutes after getting it, apparently the doctor there requested the technician to ask me to get a 2nd X-ray of just my finger that was injured. As if the hand X-ray wasn't good enough. -_- So they wanted to charge me for another X-ray (60ish bucks) for just the finger to be sure. It sounded fishy, but the doctor ended up not needing the 2nd x ray and I left. A few days later I got a call from them saying there no fracture and they would forward the results to my pcp. My pcp got them but only the results, not the images for the records. Peninsula doesn't give out cds with images anymore. I had to see my pcp again to get a referral for a hand specialist since the results showed no fracture. At the hand specialist office they noticed no images of the results were given by this office or uploaded by tis office. So I had to get another x-ray here just to be sure. It's mind boggling and ridiculous why the images couldn't just be forwarded to my pcp to avoid another X-ray at the specialist. So that extra x-ray at the specialist ended up costing me $150 for something that could have been $0. Sigh. read more

I am a new patient of PDI, I transferred from Mills Breast Center because the cost of the breast ultrasound exam was exhorbitant. PDI was much more affordable with my insurance plan. I had a very positive experience on the day of my appointment for screening mammo and ultrasound. Everyone from the front desk personnel to the techs, Lorraine and Amelia were profressional and pleasant. I will not hesitate to continue scheduling my annual exams with PDI in the future. I was going to write this two months ago, Just now getting around to it. My mother went to Peninsula Diagnostic Imaging for a dexa exam, she is 82 years old, uses a walker but is still able to drive. I wasnt able to go with her on the day of her appointment so she drove herself. I would like to thank the gentleman who did her dexa, I dont know his name. My mother explained to me that after her exam he walked her to the elevator escorted her downstairs to her car, helped her into the car and folded her walker and placed it in the back seat for her. then made sure she was buckled in. I lost track of time and hadn't gotten a mammogram in more than a year so I reached out to them. In trying to reach them, the only phone number listed now goes to some completely different imaging service. They were able to pull up some information on me, but they show no record of me ever getting a mammogram at their facility (I've been using PDI for all of my mammograms since I started having them.) Similarly, the app that PDI used so you could access all of your images/records (WhiteRabbit) no longer exists. Its a surreal feeling; almost like I'm being gaslit by whoever is running this imaging center. The next time I'm in the area I might just drop in to see what in the hell is actually happening, but I am *way* too spooked by the shady vibes to schedule an appointment with them now. It's a shame; prior to this experience, I've had nothing but great experiences with PDI. No issues with billing, awesome technicians. Now they feel like nothing but a red flag.
