I scheduled my MRI for the first appointment of the day, 7:00 a.m. I was told to show up at 6:30. I arrived by 6:30 and was informed by one of the employees who was just getting to work that the door wouldn't open until 6:45. I stood around for 15 minutes and the door did open at 6:45. The other person waiting with me showed me her confirmation and she was told to arrive at 6:15. There is a 3% surcharge if you use a credit card. It would have been nice to have been told this in advance although I'm not sure it would have mattered much. It would have been nicer not to have to pay this! I was taken right on time and there were no issues with my MRI thus the "ok" review. read more

This is about their corporate business model. Their business model involves collecting full payment for service ahead of time, regardless of whether or not insurance has already guaranteed full coverage. And they tell you you'll be able to get your money back when the insurance company pays. However, they will not automatically refund your money. You have to remember to follow up, check with your own insurance to see if it's been paid, and then go through a difficult process to get the refund. This review was posted after the second time I went through this experience. The system and model is obviously designed to discourage refunds. It should automatically refund. read more

I did my ultrasound on Monday. the lady made tons of notes clicking away. I have high anxiety and still no results 3 days! now I was just told I have to wait another 3 days. I might have cancer and with a family history of cancer, having removed cancer in my uterus before and benign tumors in my breasts. I waited 2 years with pain as no doctor would help me. I had a open bore 3T mri - never had one before but thought it was going to be cake compared to the others due to my spine, age 67, etc... It was for my right hip. They don't even check to see if you have metal clasps on your straps, etc... I ran across the same thing at Mesa Desert location. The tech just put me in the machine and we were off. Well I got so overheated in there I was sweating bullets by the time it was done. I get vertigo and did not know that these 3T's can cause vertigo or dizziness! About the last 5 mins I was struggling bad not to pump the emergency thing in my hand. My head was close to the ends so I looked up and tried to focus outside the machine and breath. It was aweful! I believe that if I hadn't overheated and I had air in the mri it wouldn't have been so bad. Oh and then during the mri, my finger starts to vibrate. It scared the crap out of me but didn't get hot so I just kept going. She let me go in the machine with a ring on! It thought I had everything removed still for my disasterous previous appt at Mesa Desert, but guess not. She put that hand pump in my hand too and didn't even check! When I was done I was so stressed out, soaked and dizzy! Not feeling well at all. She didn't give a crap!!! She just starts yanking the foam thing from under my knees so rudely and immediate! I am over weight, have a failed lumbar fusion and cervical fusion and the lady didn't even offer to help me sit up. When I told her how hot it was in there and I was soaked from sweating she turned her back on me to do something and said well it is really cold in here. She was so disrespectful and dismissive. This place treats you like cattle! I have never had a worse mri experience than I did here and the staff is horrible, no hellos, or have a seat and you will be call while you stand there looking dumb waiting for them to ask you another question. This is not the only one over the many years I have been getting mri's but she was the worst. I will never return to Simon Med EVER! I don't care if surgeons require it, I won't on my own accord ever subject myself to the hassle/stress this place has caused me for over 20 yrs with messed up appts constantly, running hours behind, etc... If you're going in for a walk-in x-ray, please beware that locations may turn you away. I went to five different locations today and all of them turned me down. All excuses were different and even calling their operations. Number told me that they were all open and doing x-rays just to find out when I get to the location they are not doing x-rays today or even all week. read more

This place truly doesn't care about the will being of their patients as evident of making them sit in ancient seats with the cushioning worn out. What happened to jobs in the USA? Just to try to call a location directly is impossible. All phone numbers are linked to other countries that can't give you correct information. They simply go off the script or find website to give that information which is already available. If they don't know the answers, they disconnect the call! Then you're forced to start all over with a different country with the same outcome-a waste of over an hour or even more. There are specifics that only the locations directly can answer such as if they have an x-ray tech actually available. Do they have the specific table for specific types of x-rays? What are the best times for an x-ray? Did they receive the orders from physicians? Yes, x-rays are on a walk-in only basis. But many facilities don't have equipment needed for certain types. There's also the problem of x-ray technicians not available so you check in, sit and wait, only to be called up and told the technician is no longer available during their scheduled hours. This is a disgrace for patients care. Why is SimonMed putting monies above true customer service? Why is it so hard to hire from the USA? Why can't you provide phone numbers directly linked to specific locations? Maybe if I hit the que that I'm a doctor needing assistance, I may get a Human Being that can actually help instead of AI or one of many foreign countries that don't have the ability to give correct information. Maybe I'll try that next. All others just link to outside of our country, the US. Frustrating beyond belief! What are my American dollars going towards? Why am I paying insurance for American Healthcare when I can't get any US Citizens that could give accurate and timely responses? We all should be asking where our money is going to. read more

now New It's unfortunate that I need to write this review. I experienced burns in an MRI machine at this facility few days ago. They were first degree burns, and were only uncomfortable for a few hours after I was finished with my MRI, but they never should have happened and the way it happened is not acceptable. I'm writing this review to let management know what happened (I tried but couldn't get through by phone). My experience: I went to have an MRI of my knee and also my back, I had the MRI's done back to back.When the MRI tech came to get me I asked if I needed to change into a gown. He asked if my bra had underwires (it didn't) then told me I was fine to keep on what I was wearing (athletic gear and Lululemon yoga leggings). I took him at his word and didn't change. I had the MRI of my knee first and noticed toward the end of my session that it felt much hotter than usual in the machine (I've had MRI's before, so I know what feels normal). My knee felt like it was burning at the end of the test. When the tech came to switch me over for my back MRI (same machine) I reported the burning sensation to him and he said "it can happen." Ok, I thought, it's fine. Then he began the MRI on my back. About ten minutes later my back and butt (pressed against the lower half of the machine) started to get really hot, almost like a heating pad was under me. Very uncomfortable. Again, I have never felt anything like it in an MRI machine before. I squeezed the "emergency ball" 3 times (quickly) before the test was stopped. The tech came to check on me and I told him I felt like my back was burning, that it was pretty uncomfortable. I again asked if that was normal. He said it can burn a little sometimes and told me I only had a minute and a half left, then slid me back in the machine without the squeeze ball. I also didn't have a connection to talk to him, when I talked and said "hello" trying to get his attention there was no response. The last minute and a half were so uncomfortable that I was picking my butt up off the machine, feeling panicked because I didn't have my squeeze ball anymore and he couldn't hear me. When he slid me out finally, I told him that it had been pretty uncomfortable and that I'd never experienced that discomfit in an MRI before. I asked (again) if it was normal to feel a burning sensation during an MRI and he said "yes it can happen". I accepted that answer and left. When I drove home my back and butt were STILL burning, enough that I had to use the seat fan/ventilator on cold all the way home (luckily I have that feature in my car). Then I took a cold shower and put a cool compress on the area. It was a couple of hours before everything felt back to normal. It was such an odd experience that I decided to google it. What I found: Lululemon leggings can have silver in them (metal threads) and should never be worn in an MRI machine! Some hospitals even have protocols about this very thing. The tech should have never let me get into the machine with my Lululemon leggings on. So my pants had metal in the threads and I actually DID sustain a mild burn, it wasn't something that "just happens." I felt like I was dismissed by the tech, who should have asked more questions or at the very least given me the ability to communicate with him while in the machine (or given me my squeeze ball back at the end). If he has stopped and really listened to what I was saying (and believed me) then maybe the incident wouldn't have happened. If a patient says they feel burning in an MRI machine, something is wrong! The standard of care at Simonmed should be to have patients change into a gown, period. Then, events like this wouldn't happen. I'm disappointed that when I tried to call to tell a manager what happened I was put through to a voicemail saying they weren't there. I couldn't even leave a message. Unacceptable, all of it, and although I've trusted Simonmed for years this experience broke that trust. I won't be back. If you go to this facility, make sure you're watching out for yourself, they won't do it for you. read more

Go to banner health for your mri. I scheduled a critical mri with & without contrast several weeks in advance for the Simon med facility @ 6740 camelback road because I had a poor experience at the Simon med Biltmore location (see my review). Of course, I received multiple reminder texts to make sure I would be there on time & would not waste Simon Meds time. I followed the prep instructions to the "T" including fasting, a lovely enema 2 hours b4 the appointment, no caffeine in the morning, and scheduled all my business meetings for the afternoon so I could set aside my morning for the mri. I also arranged a driver so that I could premedicate. I showed up prior to my scheduled time, as requested. The receptionist informed me that the facility did not have any contrasting dye in stock so they'd have to reschedule. I guess I'll have to wait even longer before I find out the results & whether I need to be treated for what could be a very serious medical condition. Save yourself the hassle (& get accurate results faster) and ask your doctor to send you to Banner Health. read more

I was so excited to find a new imaging place near me after SMIL canceled my scan because they quit taking UnitedHealthcare in the middle of a coverage year. I thought SimonMed was going to be an improvement and when my Dr. sent my orders to AZ Diagnostic, I asked for them to be sent to SimonMed instead. Everything was all set for an appointment on Monday, Sept. 23rd at Mtn. View until I got a call late on the Friday before saying they didn't have a technician, so they moved my appt. to Thursday at Fashion Sq. On Thursday, a few hours before the appointment I got a call that the machine was broken, so they moved my appointment to Oct. 14th at Mtn. View. The next day I was notified that my appointment was canceled and when I called and asked if they were canceling the appt. on Oct. 14th they said there wasn't one! I am not convinced that it is possible to actually get a scan with SimonMed. read more

Scheduled a simple, 5-minute X-ray. Arrived 20 min early as a courtesy. Waited several minutes until someone was able to look away from their phone to speak to me. Was told that my procedure had been moved to another location, or I could wait "for a while"in a crowded, small waiting room (thanks, prefer to go to doctor to get better, not be infected) Despite having used their online scheduling portal, which was clumsy and required a significant amount of information to be entered twice, they didn't consider using that to notify me that they needed to break my appointment. I don't mind signing up for online systems if they provide some benefit, but in this case, they simply took the time-consuming and repetitive paperwork and translated it into a digital system, with all the security risks that entails, but none of the benefits. read more

I have been a long time SimonMed patient. Today I had to go to the Fashion Square office for an ultrasound. The wait getting back was starting to get to me, but I know that sometimes delays happen. Thankfully, the ultra-sound tech (I wish I could remember her name) was the best I have ever had. She receives top honors in professionalism, knowledge, congeniality and just about anything it takes to be the epitome of patient care quality in a provider. I only hope that SimonMed continues its current course of treatment for it's patients and does not get caught up in the corporate/insurance based model. read more

SimonMed has been an absolute NIGHTMARE to deal with. I have an order for a basic routine mammogram from my gynecologist. It unnecessarily took me multiple calls and talking to multiple people just to schedule it. I took time off work to come to my appointment and when I was just a mile away, Jorge from the Fashion Square / Camelback location called to tell me I needed to reschedule. He said I needed a diagnosis mammogram and an ultrasound. Not being in the medical field, I assumed he knew something that I didn't. I contacted my gynecologist and asked them to send an order for a diagnostic mammogram so I can get in with SimonMed. They faxed one over. When I called SimonMed to make the appointment, the woman on the phone was confused why I had two orders. One for a routine mammogram and the other for a diagnostic mammogram. I let her know that Jorge from the Camelback location said that's what I needed. She preceded to put me on hold and look into how much the diagnostic mammogram was going to cost me out-of-pocket. She came back and told me it would be over $400 with my Blue Cross/ Blue Shield insurance. While my routine mammogram, which my doctor has ordered, would 100% be covered. She told me that my doctor takes precedence over what Jorge, who works the front desk, says that I need. I thanked her for her honesty and she set me up with an appointment for a routine mammogram for Monday 3/13 at 1:30pm. I arrive at my appointment and Jorge is working the counter and tells me that I will have to reschedule. I ask him why? And he refers to the conversation we had on the phone last week when he cancelled my appointment when I was only a mile away. He said that I needed a diagnostic mammogram with an ultrasound. I told him that I did not. He was rude and unprofessional and refused to listen to me. I asked him to call my gynecologist and he refused and told ME to. So I did. I called them and asked them to fax over the order stating I only needed a routine mammogram. In that very moment, they did. I went to the counter with them still on the phone and Jorge ignored me while I was trying to get his attention. He told me that he didn't care that they had faxed over the order and it would be 6-8hrs before it would be entered into my file. He dismissed me and was honestly the rudest person I have ever met. I was there, for my 1:30pm appointment for exactly what my order was for. A routine mammogram. And he was denying me medical treatment because of a power trip he was on. He absolutely should not be working in customer service because he is horrible at his job. While I was on the phone with my gynecologist, there was an elderly lady that was trying to check-in saying to him, "It would have been nice to have been informed that my appointment was cancelled instead of having to drive all the way here to find out." He dismissed her concerns as well. He could care less about people and is giving your company a horrible name. I have since reached out to my gynecologist to let them know how absolutely awful my experience with SimonMed has been and they sent my order to Smil Southwest Imaging and have assured that my experience with them will be much better. I have called and scheduled my appointment with Smil Southwest Imaging with absolutely zero issues. Get rid of Jorge who is on a power trip. He's doing your company zero justice. read more

CUSTOMER BEWARE. Simonmed will collect payment the day of service and then continue to harass you weekly with texts, emails and phone calls stating that your bill was not paid and that money is owed. Even when you contact them on several occasions and they say oh yes we see your payment sorry for the inconvenience and please disregard. The following week more emails text and phone calls continue. I have sent the receipt the proof of what was owed via insurance statement and am still waiting review. Are you kidding me what more proof of payment do you need. I'm not exactly sure if they are trying to inflate there profits to shareholders or what the reason is. But its illegal, its harassment and I'd be one to bet if any customer double pays based on this they would never receive a refund! READ BEFORE YOU GO. I can only speak for this facility but they are asking people to pay the entire amount of their procedure at time of service. This is despite what your insurance card has listed as your responsibility. I thought it was odd and questioned it at the front desk but was told that my insurance would reimburse me. This is not the case. The insurance company is not the one to provide the refund. My procedure was at the end of June and now it's October and I'm still waiting for Simon Med Imaging to refund me the close to $300 that was outside of my responsibility. I should never have been asked to pay the full amount at the time I checked in. In addition, Simon Med also already billed my insurance and collected from them on top of all of this. A top surgeon sent me here, said that this location has some decent radiologists. When he read the MRIs himself, then read the radiologists report, he pointed out several things he disagreed with the radiologist about. Then i went to the other top surgeon in Scottsdale for my injury. He knew he was a second opinion. but i did not tell him what the first surgeon said about the radiology report. This surgeon also disagreed with the same things that the first surgeon disagreed with about the radiologists report. Bot surgeons said the MRIs were very readable, that the technician did a good job. But, it is scary that SimonMed does not have better radiologists. It was a Saturday MRI appointment in Novemeber. This was my experience: They quoted me 3 different prices for an ultrasound before I got there, didn't inform me how to prep for it, billed me up front for 2 ultrasound procedures when they could only complete one due to their lack of communicating proper prep instructions to me, fought with them for a refund for the procedure they weren't able to do but I was billed for, was told it would go back on my card the next day (it didn't), called them to find out why and the billing team told me 7-10 business days instead, charged me as out of network when I previously confirmed with them AND my insurance that it was IN network, now they refunded me the "wrong amount" after the manager told me I was getting back $153 and they're now asking for MORE money! Not to mention, I was told the doctor reviewing my results at Simon Med would call me the next day or on Monday in which I never received a call, my results, OR my images. They said my images would be in my patient portal the next day, to my surprise, it was not in my portal and I had to physically drive to the location to get a DVD of my images instead. Their communication is so god awful and they tell you the wrong information more often than the correct. My ultrasound tech was great, but everything else was a complete disaster. I was on the phone with my insurance to clear the billing issues up for an hour and a half in which my insurance rep told me Simon Med was billing me very wrong and was doing "some shady things" putting the wrong codes in for my procedures I got done under an "out of network" visit. That was my first and last time I will ever go to Simon Med and I hope I warn others not to go there for ANY imaging read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. First, they try to charge you for some random amount (hundreds of dollars) before it even gets sent to your insurance. Then, they tell you 1-3 business days for results. I've been waiting 5 business days for someone to read my MRI and send it to my doctors office. I have been there 5 times over the last 2 months. Every time I have gone there's a problem! No tech to do the service, computers down, can't find my order which I had already gave them, diagnostic mammogram machine is broken and they don't know when the new machine will come in. All this after I have filled out the forms for each time both on line and in office. Apparently their online forms don't get to the office files. I had to wait an hour before they told me they can't do the service. Such a wast of my time. I only go there because my insurance changed. I'm 74 and this is the worst service I've ever had. The waiting room chairs are shabby and worn out. Clearly the executives are taking all the money and not reinvesting in the business. Avoid the Camelback location if you can. I'm going to try another location and see if it's any better.‍ read more

Horrible experience. I was booked for an ultrasound and was told halfway through the procedure that their machine wasn't working. I rebooked a few weeks later and asked them to make sure the machine was working- they told me they would notify me if it wasn't but that everything should be fine. Was diagnosed with breast cancer 8/2020, and my life has changed forever. Thankfully I found the most caring and thoughtful staff in the WORLD at SimonMed on Camelback Road! Had a horrific experience 3 times in a row on mammograms at Banner Imaging on Dobson Road, and broke up with them. I requested my oncology team to write the new orders for SimonMed on Camelback, since I've had success and treated like a "person" versus a "number" after having bone scans, brain MRI, and chest scans done for cancer follow up at SimonMed on Camelback Rd. Cindy did my mammogram on 1/3/2022, and explained everything with grace and kindness, and was the easiest mammogram I've ever had. While I was on site, Cindy communicated with the Dr. to see my previous images from Banner, as well as current images taken that day. Amanda did my ultrasound, and was helpful on what to look for since I have dense breasts. Both of these ladies EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS!!! Have never in my life been treated with such kindness, and the front office staff was amazing at making copies of my reports from Banner Imaging, and downloading all the images. Found out Banner Images put incorrect dates on the files which were "in the future" like 10/16/2027 - who does that! I'm SO happy I moved, and as you know when fighting health issues the LAST thing you need is to fight labs. Glad I was my BEST on advocate, thanks to Cindy & Amanda for making my "cancer free" and "this is normal" into reality! Bless you both! read more

I have a second opinion appointment on Thursday morning, and there is no official reading of my MRI from last Friday. I am switching insurance next year so I don't have to come back. read more

I was referred here for chest x-rays. I was told I'd be called at the end of the day with results. I never heard anything back. when you call their phone number you cannot get a direct line to anybody in the office and they keep trying to send you to medical records. I would like somebody to explain my results to me. I had to walk in today still sick weeks later and was told that the x-ray tech should've never told me they would call with results. All they do is the x-ray. They don't have a Dr. on site so apparently, you have to go back to the dr. who referred you. It would've been helpful had somebody explained that to me. Waiting room full of people with the same issue. My health is not something to be played with. I will not be back. Do better in explaining the process. I will also let my urgent care doctor. Who's not even my primary care doctor no, not to refer people to you. People deserve answers and clear, explanations whoever the tech was told me wrong information and I understand people make mistakes, but this was my job on the line. read more

Very poor experience. First after scheduling an appointment at their "camelback" office and finding out there is another "camelback" office when I arrived at this location (gee thanks Simon med scheduling) was told don't worry you can come back in 90 minutes and we have an appointment for you. Upon arriving back after doing nothing for 90 minutes (great if you have nothing better to do) was told that now they are two hours behind so would have to wait or reschedule. But great news they found an appointment for me 30 minutes away but have been waiting now at that location 35 minutes after my appointment time. Deer valley road location So in a nutshell go there If you want your time wasted and you have nothing better to do then drive around town wasting time and money. What a shit show read more
