I was a new customer with SimonMed. I had a CAT scan on Wednesday 4/30/2025 at the SimonMed FL Waterford Lakes. SimonMed submitted Claim #51406286Z650H billing BCBSIL HCA U325 $1,002.00 for the CT Scan. The claim was processed on 5/20/2025. BCBS paid $771.31 of the $1,002.00 and said I owe the remaining $230.69. On the day of the appointment the office charged me $406.29 for copayment. I paid by credit card. Based on the claim paperwork I was due a refund of $175.60. I sent and email to SimonMed billing department to inquiry about the refund. They returned my call and told me I was only going to received a $163.77 refund. The remaining $11.83 was for a security deposit on the credit card charge. The SimonMed office staff failed to disclose the security deposit charge upfront. SimonMed's process for handling copayments and credit charges are unethical. I was charge a 40% copayment on $1,002.00! The procedure should be pre-priced and there is no reason a patient with insurance should pay that much in advance. They act like they have never charged BCBS. Charging a customer $11.83 ("security deposit") on a $406.29 charge is robbery! What is SimonMed charging a security deposit on credit card charges when such large percentage of copayment is being collected? The large copayment is essential a security deposit! I can't image how low income customers are being treated! SimonMed just lost a customer! BTW. The CT Scan staff was wonderful! There was no problem with the actual imaging process. There was also no long wait to be scanned. read more

I had an X-ray for my upper back on 8/7/25. They say it will take 1 to 3 days for the results. On 8/14/25, I had to cancel my follow up appointment with my doctor. In the meantime, I am dealing with the pain that continues to increase. Did they misplace my X-rays? Do they have enough staff to review tests? Not sure why on day 8 my X-ray is unread. Do I need to go to another imaging place? This makes no sense. If I knew it would take this long I would have not gone here. Lesson learned, will seek out another place. Wish there is a negative star. They don't allow appointments for X-ray, walk-in only. However, the receptionist not enter the walk-in patient's info until they get a chance. We were just a wait and wait. It is a complete bullshit. read more

I initially had an appointment for an MRA at another imaging facility, where I was told on the day of the appointment that they don't have the equipment to do an MRA.  So I had to cancel.  An employee at this imaging facility referred me to SimonMEDImaging.  I took a chance and went directly to SimonMED. I was greeted by Cherilyn, who told me that they can in fact do an MRA and immediately scheduled me for March 26. On March 24, I arrived at SimonMED with an additional order.  Chasity performed her magic and was able to schedule both tests for the same day (3/26). On March 26, I was greeted by Chasity once again.  She was very gentle when setting up my IV.  Then I met John Paul,the MRA technologist.  John was very kind, gentle & very attentive.  I felt very comfortable & safe.  These 3 individuals are angels on earth. All medical facilities should have employees like them. I am grateful to have met Cherilyn, Chasity & John Paul. read more

Went to Simonmed on February 24th 2025. Did not need an appointment per the website for an X-ray. I was a bit nervous about this. On arrival I was immediately called by the front desk and given my paperwork to fill out. In 15 minutes I was called to get my X-ray done. The staff was amazing. Extremely friendly ,polite in the X-ray room.They made me extremely relaxed and comfortable. Job well done. I will always recommend your Company. read more

I went to get a ultrasound done a few weeks ago and when I went to pay the co-pay, it was astronomically high. I paid it because I needed to get that ultrasound done and little did I know that my wife and I were shocked to find out they overcharged me by over 300+ dollars for a simple ultrasound? I'm still waiting for them to reimburse me my money. Luckily, the representative mentioned 7 to 10 business days. Poor patient communication, terrible web site, schedulers are untrained and unsure and provide incomplete data regarding prep for tests. This place could not be more disorganized if they planned it! Can only hope the medical part is more professional and accurate! Sitting in the waiting room during the whole time I should be drinking prep so I'll be here a lot longer than planned. Test cancelled because they say the Doctor's order is wrong! Of course they had this order for a week and only now is there an issue. So one week later after all the paperwork is updated and I show up for the procedure, I given one of three bottles of prep to drink and half way through I notice it's expired. The techs were great but folks the process at this facility from the centralized phone bank to the facility management is BROKEN! read more

I had a very positive experience with my MRI here. I was able to do all the paperwork online ahead of time. I checked in at the counter, sat down, and in moments they called my name. The technician was good natured and knowledgeable. He explained what I would experience, gave me a couple pointers, and twenty minutes later, I was on my way home. read more

I had such a positive experience here today that I came on Yelp to leave a five star review, and was surprised to see all of the negative ratings. Since I was paying out of pocket I had to price shop, and settled on Simon Med after some phone calls and price comparisons. When I had insurance through my last job, I always had my tests done at another imaging facility, but my ultrasound at Simon Med was $319 cheaper. Needless to say, I booked an appointment here and it was easy from start to finish. I was thrilled that they had earlier appointments available compared to my previous imaging center as well. After I made an appointment I filled out all of the paperwork online after creating an account (again a very quick and simple process). Through the online portal I was actually able to reschedule for the same day, and it was all done in a snap. I showed up, checked in on my phone while in my car, walked in to pay for the visit and was called back for the test in a flash. The sonographer was really nice, seeming to care about her job and even retraced some steps just to make sure the test was thorough. There was a nightlight projecting gorgeous colorful displays onto the ceiling, so you have something to look at while lying there waiting. The bathroom in the sonography room was a little awkward in that both doors have to be locked since it's shared between 2 patient rooms, and there are signs to remind you to unlock the other door as well before leaving. Parking seems limited for such a busy area, but thankfully I was able to get a space with no issues and there weren't too many patients waiting ahead of me either, which really helped streamline the process. My family member goes there too for all of her imaging studies, and she hasn't had any complaints that I'm aware of. I've had more complicated experiences with other places, so I'm happy for such a great visit as a new patient. read more

I wasn't terribly happy with this place the first time I came through here but made a follow up appointment for a second MRI at this location. I arrived for my 8am appointment only to find out that my appointment was canceled due to a lack of authorization from my insurance. The person behind the counter told me SimonMed had tried to get in touch with me regarding the appointment. That was a flat out lie. No calls from SimonMed, no emails. In fact, I had a pair of text messages reminding me to be ready for the appointment! (See pic). Including one less than 2 hours before my appointment! They also tried to offer me an appointment at a different location- which makes no sense as why would another location take me if insurance authorization was the issue? Not once did they offer a non-insurance option or pay-out-of-pocket in order to keep the appointment, as I had taken off of work that morning to attend SimonMed. Incompetence and lies all-around by the front desk staff. I will not be using this provider again and neither should you. read more

Terrible customer service. Called to confirm that I could be seen and vitrify cost since I am self pay. Online and on the phone I was informed that I could pay with CareCredit. When I make the trip to the office I was informed that I could not pay with CareCredit since it currently was not working in the office. I was told it would be back up in December. There is no compassion. I can hardly walk and I was turned away because their system was down. If you have your choice of SimonImaging stay far away from this location. Simon Med and I have a love/hate relationship. On previous visits I had issues with being overcharged but this visit was different. I called early in the week and got an appt for 2 days later, nice. I was advised to arrive 15 minutes before appointment time. I arrived about 18minutes before, I approached the desk, was greeted and asked if I had an appt and asked to provide my insurance card, photo ID and doctors order. I provided all three and sat down to complete the form given to me. A few minutes later, I was called to the back, explained to the tech the reason for my visit. She proceeded to do her job. Done. I was done and walking out of the building at 6 mins past my appt time. Hoping for this type of energy on every visit to this SimonMed. read more

This is not review is about their Lake None location. It has nothing to do with their office, Tech or staffs. This company as a whole is a crook and they will steal your money, acknowledge they owe you money and come up with a different story every time you call as to why they can not refund you. I was overcharged $672 for an MRI and I have been told 4 different stories for 2 months as to why they will not credit the account. They are absolute crooks and you better absolutely know what your copay is because you can absolutely not act in good faith and expect them to reimburse you for any overpayment. They simply won't. They will tell you they owe it but give 20 different reasons as to why you can not get your refund at that time. If they say that you need to pay more than you expect then walk out and contact your insurance company. You will not get your money back. I would like to know their terms if I owed them money. I highly doubt it would be please pay us at your convenience a year from now. And I doubt they would accept 10 different stories as to why I can not pay them. read more

Let me preface this by saying I am not a reviewer of things. I only leave reviews if something is really awesome, or if it really pisses me off. This REALLY pissed me off. First of all, let me say I had to go to my appointment twice. The first time, the front desk staff did not do their due diligence by contacting my insurance company to see that my deductible had been reached and I should not be charged. They were going to charge me $279.00 when I was not supposed to pay a dime. They told me to contact my insurance company. That is THEIR job as the facility doing the service. I was just about to change into the pants for the X-Ray, so I changed my mind and left he appointment and called my insurance company myself. They did confirm my deductible had been met. The gal at my insurance company contacted Simonmed while I was on the phone and made sure they knew I had nothing to pay because my deductible had been met. I then re-scheduled. Now for the second appointment. They didn't try to charge me. That is the only thing they did right. I was having 2 images done: an ultrasound and an X-ray. The ultrasound tech got that gel stuff they use all over the INSIDE of my ROLLED UP shirt!!! Really?? I really hope that doesn't stain my shirt. If she wasn't going to give a s**t enough to be careful as to where that gel ended up, she should have told me to put a gown on. Then I went to another part of the facility for the X-Ray. I was told I needed to undress down to my underwear. At my first appointment, I was told I only needed to change into the pants because I had a zipper on my shorts. I had no metal on my bra either time, and no metal my pants this time. I dressed without metal specifically for this appointment. Yet this girl today told me to strip down. The inconsistencies are unacceptable. So fine, after some arguing (oh yes, I was that person because I'm tired of this generation not giving a s**t about anything), I went ahead and changed right there in the X-ray room rather than in one of their dressing rooms, which was fine because the tech was a female and that's where she wanted me to change. That alone was not the correct thing to do. After the X-ray, she had someone come into the room and review the picture, leaving the door to the room wide open. The picture was fine, so I was free to go. I was like, "Okay, so I change my clothes...where?" The tech was like, "Oh, you can go across the hall and change." Again, REALLY?? So I had to gather all of my s**t and walk across the hall to change. The people at this facility are incompetent AT BEST. I selected this place due to the close proximity to my house. I typically check reviews, but it's just an imaging place, so I didn't think it would really make a difference. Well, I was wrong. CHECK REVIEWS. Do yourselves a favor. Go somewhere else. read more

They got my husband an appointment immediately and as soon as the paperwork was completed we were called back back by the technician who was friendly and explained everything. The whole process was easy. My only complaint is their waiting area, painted the most bland, unwelcoming shade of darker beige. It was filled with cheap black chairs. There was not a single magazine, games for the little kids, or anything else to occupy someone who is nervous about their appointment or the person waiting for them. For a very modest investment that room could be much more inviting. read more

I had Xrays done at this place and will never use them again. Xrays were taken by a student with the radiology tech not present. The report that is supposed to be done by a Radiologist/ Dr. was a one sentence joke. The whole place felt incredibly impersonal and unwelcoming - starting with the reception area to the radiologist who didn't seem to take 5 minutes to write a report on my Xrays. The final cost: close to $300. I made sure that Dr. who sent me there is aware of my experience with SimonMed. I could tell he was in quite a shock reading the one sentence report summarizing 3 Xrays. Complete disappointment and a waste of time and money! read more

Barbara the tech had orders from my DR for a mammogram and ultrasound. She said I didn't need one. Results came needing an ultrasound and a mass on my left side, now I have to wait 5 weeks to get in. This was my worst experience at a SimonMed ever. I arrived with my son early in the morning and the lady at the front desk told me the next available time was at 11:05 AM. I reserved the spot and came back at 11:00 AM. Upon arrival, a man at the frontier desk in a very bad mood, started asking for my insurance and ID to fill out the registration. I explained to him I had done that already in the morning and was asked to be back at 11:05 AM but he didn't want to listen and kept insisting with a loud and unwelcoming tone. Luckily, the lady that saw me in the morning showed up and confirmed I also had done what he was asking. Suddenly, he looked at me and loudly said, "well, you're going to have to wait anyway". I asked how long and he said "I don't know, 30 or 40 minutes". Since I was with my son I was not going to let myself carried out by his attitude. So I seated and waited patiently for 40 long minutes. When I decided to go ask him again if it was going to be much longer, his mood was even worse and loudly replied, "I don't know, when I have time I'll go check". That was it. I waited another 30 minutes until I was called because I really needed the X-Rays for my son, but this will be the LAST TIME I use the services of SimonMed. read more

Had an appointment here for my mom. In the midst of what has been an incredibly difficult insurance and overall situation, their staff went above and beyond. Carlotta (Cathy) and Edwige were two of the most attentive and helpful in ensuring she got the services she needed for a time-sensitive condition despite insurance challenges. Front desk was great, CT techs were kind enough to let us know we could return for imaging as well. Cannot recommend more, very grateful for their help. read more

I took my son for an MRI on 03/12/24, after insurance approved the procedure I was still charged the FULL out of pocket price and my card was run for the FULL amount. There was no supervisor on site to complete a refund. I am now being told that it could take up to 45 days to verify that I in fact am owed a refund. I have sent in all documentation that they have asked for and it still isn't good enough. Every time I speak with someone there is a different story. This is beyond UNACCEPTABLE, they are playing with people's money and they don't care. The technicians have all been great, it is simply the operations side of the company. The 2 girls at the front desk were nice and I know that it was charged by accident, but all of that doesn't matter when you are playing with people's money. Make it right, SimonMed.... read more

They charged more than my insurance allowed, and now I'm having to jump through hoops to get my refund. Since I paid with an FSA card, it's even worse & appears fraudulent that I spent more than what was charged. This is eating up hours of time, and of course it's been 4 weeks since I paid; now another 30-45 days after they get my EOB, then another 3 weeks to send a refund. So they get to keep my overpayment 3+ months, but I can't wait to pay them until the insurance processes?????? read more

I absolutely LOVE how caring the staff here are. I had to have a mammogram done and obviously that's never a fun experience. However Barbara was very sweet and patient as well as gentle and also took the time to teach me something I never knew. A woman was who invented the machines they use for mammograms. Even sitting in the lobby waiting to be called back was nice. Love the music and wait time wasn't long at all. I always go this location when I need any type of procedures that they provide and I will continue to go there because I appreciate the way they treat their clients. read more

Our bank account was charged double. We tried to explain to the employee that the first transaction stated APPROVED on screen, but the employee took the card and manually entered a second request for money anyway. This was also APPROVED. When we asked for the manager, the manager said the first transaction was unsuccessful. We showed the manager our bank account on our phone that both transactions are PENDING. The manager said the first transaction would not post. We woke up today, and BOTH TRANSACTIONS POSTED! Now we are without our money for days while we wait for a refund. Maybe SimonMed did not think we would check our account. We thought this company was professional, but they are no different than a fast food experience. read more

i called on Tuesday November 12 for an appointment after spending 30 minutes on the scheduling an appointment giving them my health insurance address and phone number for insurance i am scheduled for 7 am on Wednesday the following day. they asked me to arrive at 6:45. i get there to check in they say sorry we don't take your insurance. now keep in mind if you don't show up they charge but they don't have the professionalism of letting you know that your insurance is not accepted or even do their job. this place service is below one star. read more

This is the worst location that you could go. From the technician and the manager ufff even worst.DO NOT go to this location beacuse if you have an issue with the service you received and give a complain because an exam was supposed to take 2hrs and they rush and do it in less then 15 minutes and saying everything looks good but then my doctor cannot give me a prorper diagnosis beacuse is not clear the report they send her and you call and ask to talk to someone in charge and you have to keep telling what happen to 3 different people and the supervisor tells you that the "manager" is going to call you and she NEVER did so you jeep calling to see if the could redo the exam and finally you get a "direct" number for the manager but she nevers answers and after calling I don't know how many time you finally speak with her and stars with ma'am you were misinformed you only did 1 examn blahblah... and after couple time trying to tell her they did both exams that it was supposed to be 1hr each and it only took the "technician" less then 15min she put me on hold and come back no apology or nothing and keep going about yes I did get frustrated cause how is possible a person who is supposed to be in charge and listen to the complaint and try to work something with you was been a little nasty attitude and then she said she didn't like the attitude I was giving her after 15min me trying to explain her that all I wanted is to redo my text with a different technician but she didn't listen she didn't care and then she was telling me they did both exams and everything was good. How can I trust a result of a exams the by the way I have done it multiple time and the faster technician took 35min in 1 of the exams not less then 15min in both exams and the mamager didn't even know what's was in the report she said first something and then something else like come on? Who would trust that? The manager Charisma Reyes was very unprofessional and did not care about the situation she is definitely in the wrong profession. This is only for this location on waterford all the other locations I have NEVER had any issue or nothing they are very professional since youn enter the office but NOT the waterford lake location this is the worst. I have been going to simonmed for about 3 years now for all my exams the location on Orange ave one of my favorite and lake underhill, I recently went to the one on witer park 3 and it was really nice and professional also. Everyone who says the receptionists are rude is absolutely right! Even my doctor's office agrees that this place is run by young people who know nothing about customer service, professional service skills, patient-centered assistance or unemployment lines. As a professional speaker in the health care industry on customer service and business growth, I intend to continue to use this place as a prime example of how your front office staff can ruin your business. I ought to pay them to use these stories in conventions and workshops. Example 1: Made an 8:30am appointment for an MRI. Was forced to wait over an hour because , we've been running behind all day." At 8:30 in the morning! Example 2: MRI results were never sent to the doctor's office. Even when I insisted and they agreed to send them that day! That's when the nurse said, "We always have trouble with this office; it's run by kids!" Example 3: Had to get a presurgery X-ray today. Appointments are not allowed for X-rays... walk-in only. Walked in and was immediately asked if I had an appointment (no greeting; no eye contact). As I said X-rays, she said "Two hour wait! Are you sure you want to sit here?" I said your instructions said you don't take X-ray appointments. "I know!" She replied, "You still want to wait?" She treated each person who came in this way as I waited. Most left frustrated. The waiting room was mostly empty. They now requirement you fill out a new patient form each time you come in (don't they keep records?). I listed allergies as "molds, pollens, inefficient front office staff and codeine." LOL!!! The techs are good, if you can get past the terrible service up at the front desk. If zero stars was an option that's what I would leave. This was the first and last time I use SimonMed imagining. When I first walked into the Waterford Lakes location I was surprised at how uninviting and dirty the waiting area was. The TV was so loud you couldn't think. And to top it off the front desk staff was rude and had zero customer service skills. I would be embarrassed if I was the office manager. Since in order to rate you have to leave a star, I will give one star for the wait time. I was taken back at my scheduled time. SimonMed please get it together. You never know what someone is facing when they walk into the doors of this imaging center. Someone could have freshly been diagnosed with a horrible condition. Have a little compassion, say hi, ask a name, be kind! Please take a look at the front staff and reassess your employees. They are the face of your practice. read more

Terrible place do not book your appointment here! Scheduled a Saturday appointment spent 3 hours and was not seen - lady couldn't even tell me when I would be seen. Btw told there was no copay. Rescheduled for a Wednesday left work early for a ct scan and upon arrival they again couldn't find my paperwork then located it and tried to charge me A $70 copay.
