To see so many positive reviews of this location is frankly infuriating. This is not an urgent care you should take yourself nor your loved ones too. They are not there to give you an earnest diagnosis, they want to get you in and out the door as quickly as possible to cash in on your insurance. My brother in law went in with severe abdominal pain, extremely high blood pressure and heart-rate, a fever and several other conditions that were obviously severe in nature. They sent him home within a few minutes of looking at him despite the severity of his symptoms. Within 24 hours, he was dead. The hospital was shocked and confused as to how appropriate medical attention was not taken a day earlier. Keep in mind he was very young (40) and in good shape-- it was determined he had experienced organ failure over several days which ultimately killer him. How a "urgent care" could be so shockingly obtuse is more than incompetence or negligent. It's genuinely evil. I will be telling everyone far and wide to avoid this location at all costs, if they had done their job he would still be alive. Horrifying. read more

I have serious concerns about the safety and well-being of the patients who seek treatment here. After several days of complaining of abdominal pain, nausea and occasional fever and chills, and very rapid resting heart rate, my son stopped in on a Friday afternoon to have it checked out. When he was discharged, he was given a prescription antacid and recommendation to see a Cardiologist. He worsened overnight. In the morning, he was convinced to get to a proper Emergency/Trama Center. When his mother and I arrived at the ER, the attending Doctor explained that he was exhibiting signs of Sepsis. As they began the process to confirm with lab work, his heart stopped and the ER staff were unable to resuscitate him. MiniER's web page contains the statement, "The miniER in Waterford Lakes is not your typical urgent care." This seems ironically accurate to me. I believe that most typical medical providers would have immediately recognized the seriousness of our son's situation and called for an ambulance. Instead, he was treated for an upset stomach and released. It is an insult that this webpage requires at least ONE STAR rating! read more

Every time either my wife or I have come here, we have had a great experience! The staff is SO friendly and accommodating. I came in for a bruised rib this time. The facility was clean. The Radiological Technician was excellent and had a great bed side manner. Went in with sinusitis, back pain and coughing. The PA did a perfunctory job at explaining the situation. The PA ordered a chest x-ray and EKG and provided prescriptions. Overall it was an above average experience. read more

This is my go-to when I have any onset illness. They are open 7 days a week and since moving here is the only place I go that isn't a specialty doctor. There's no appointments but you can do the preregistration online to save time as well as view the wait times. There are 2 doctors I normally see, Dr Kelly and Dr Yi. Both are great. They spend time with you and go over your concerns. This last time I ran into a little trouble - apparently UHC does maintenance on Sundays, so they charge a flat rate of $50 because they can't run your insurance. I was told to call and they would rerun it and send whatever you were owed back to your card-- so don't get sick on Sunday's haha. The office staff is helpful if you have to call and get a follow up or refill a prescription. I know I need to get a PCP eventually, but it's nice knowing this place is right down the street when I need it. read more

Been waiting here for over 2 hours now when the website says a 35 min wait. People that came in way after me have been seen and left. The lady at the front desk keeps telling me they will call me soon. Seems Like they will call me tomorrow. Been to centra care before and longest wait I ever had there was 15 min. Not sure what's taking them so long. Very frustrating and I have to get back to work. I feel if you have anywhere to be or something that makes you need x Rays you should consider going else where. POLITE,PROFESSIONAL GREAT SERVICE! We had an unexpected visit here today. NOBODY, I mean nobody likes the doctors office or hospitals. However, this location made it worth while. Upon entering the location a friendly receptionist asked us about our visit and politely asked us to sign in. After that we were instructed to fill out the paperwork. Upon returning to the counter, the office lady created small talk with us and made us feel at home. Once we took a seat, we only waited about 20 minutes before being called back with the doctor. Dr. Yi always takes care of me when I come here. He's even stitched up my foot once! I was scared it wouldn't heal right and that my toes would need surgery to move again, but it's like it never happened, besides the scar. The front desk; however, is not very friendly. They make you see a physician assistant instead of a real doctor. They won't let you be seen without a blood pressure check. I told the medical assistant "do I have to have a blood pressure check. It really stresses me out" and he was just like "sorry I have to". My BP was so high they made me lay down for 20 minutes and then took it again. The PA did a flu test which was negative but she gave me Tamiflu anyway, "oh well I'll just treat you for flu since you might have it". Then she said "it's probably bronchitis", no chest x-Ray to confirm. She was basically just guessing. She gave me Tamiflu, azithromycin (Z-pack) and cough medicine. Don't go here. read more

Let's get this straight... No one is ever happy to have to go to the urgent care clinic... but if you find yourself without any other option... bypass the Centra Care and take a ride over to the Mini ER instead. I spent a couple of hours here last night after breaking my foot. My experience started off pretty good (considering the pain I was in). Their website allows you to register online to avoid the wait. You can also schedule a specific time to come in. Their front desk staff is amazing. Friendly, helpful, and compassionate. They took care of me so well from the moment I walked in, I found myself smiling at their jokes and feeling better already. The facility has all the state of the art equipment you could imagine. There's flat screen TVs in each exam room so you can watch while you wait. The nurses use these cool little computer screen charts instead of paper and pen charts. Everything is modern, clean and nice! The doctor that I saw, Dr. Molpus, was incredible. He was prompt, friendly and funny. After they took my X-rays, he wheeled me out on my wheelchair to see them on his computer monitor. He spent time showing me the injury and even took out a medical book to explain how the break probably occurred. We were in and out in about 2 hours tops. I can't say this about the E.R. or Centra Care. It was a painless and pleasant experience. Check out their website for a full list of services, but they do the usual urgent care stuff... stitches, x-rays, allergic reactions, animal bites. I've been here twice. Once I was a walk in, and the second time I registered online. Neither time did I spend more than an hour in here. Yes...AN HOUR in urgent care, in and out. That is unheard of. Usually you wait 4 hours in the waiting room, then 1 hour in the room. There was none of that here. An amazing experience. Once I found out about online registration, I will never walk in again. You can sign in online and they put you on the list to be seen. They call when the doctor is 20 mins out from seeing you and you can drive over there. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They actually care about how you are feeling and take the time to educate you and make sure you are 100% comfortable with your treatment, etc. I can't say enough good things about this place. If you can't see your regular primary care physician this is the place to go! I went here on a Friday evening because I was having some issues. I originally went to one of the local drugstore minute clinics but my issue required a higher level of care. The nurse at the original minute clinic called around for me to make sure my wait wouldn't be too long. Most of the other urgent care places in the area had at least two or three hour wait. The Mini ER only had a 30 minute wait. I drove over and they were not that busy. I was greeted warmly by the receptionist who took my Insurance card and photo ID. She had me fill out a couple of documents and asked me to wait. I honestly waited probably 15 minutes before someone came to get me. I would say that wasn't a bad wait time. I was shown to a room and met with one of the physician assistants. She was very attentive and explained that she was going to recommend that I get additional testing. She prescribed me some antibiotics and also told me that the particular medicine that she was giving me was a free prescription at my local grocery store. I thought that was very nice of her to let me know that. My primary care doctor never told me that this particular antibiotic is free. I have been paying a co-pay for this particular antibiotic for years and never knew it was free at my local grocery store. The following Monday morning the same PA called to check up on me and also give me my test results. I thought that was awesome customer service because I've never received a phone call from my regular doctors office checking to see if I was okay etc. I definitely will be using them again when I need them and highly recommend them to anyone. read more

I just moved from up north and this is the first time I had to go to a doctor. I don't yet have a primary doctor in Florida so I decided to look up some urgent care places for a quick in-and-out experience. Man am I glad I found The Mini ER!!! I did utilize their online registration, which was very quick and easy. But I had some time to spare so I decided to just drive and walk in. There was nobody there, which was perfect for me because I knew I wasn't going to be there long. And I wasn't - I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I filled out the usual paperwork and once my insurance was verified I was called to an exam room. From the time I walked in the door until the time I was in an exam room - about 10 minutes. The intern that took my vitals was very nice and super friendly. Within 10 minutes of entering the exam room the doctor came in to see me - Dr. Mueller. She was - like the rest of the staff - very friendly and very professional. It didn't take her long to diagnose and write me up a script for some antibiotics. She even printed out some home care instructions and sent me on my way. I paid about $50 out of pocket, but to me that was VERY reasonable considering the awesome experience I had here. No wait, no hassle, friendly, clean professional atmosphere. The doctor did more talking and less listening than I preferred but he was quick and accurate in what he was saying I just almost feeling like I was fitting to get a word in once he got rolling. The staff was very friendly and seemed to be thorough. My main complaint is that it took 2 hrs, we waited a long time to see the PA. My son was weezing and needed a breathing treatment, which is pretty easy to diagnose and treat. I was surprised at the length of time to start the treatment. As expected My son was immediately fine after the treatment, he had to do this once before. I would have marked this 4 stars if it didn't take so long. Btw my co-pay was $120 with Aetna insurance. Not impressed with this Urgent Care. We were told the wait would be 30 minutes and waited more than an hour with no one letting us know or keeping us updated despite the fact we were the only ones in the waiting room after 30 minutes. When the doctor came in he asked rapidfire questions, took no tests or cultures and had us out quickly but gave my daughter instructions that made her condition worse and we had to get a second opinion. Advising us to wash an open wound 3 times a day with "any soap". Really? A lot of soaps have dyes and fragrance. After consulting another doctor the next day we were advised not to dry out a wound by scrubbing and washing it repeatedly which stops healing and rips off scabs. At least we got an antibiotic(which took them from one star to two) she needed but the other 2 medications were useless. Go somewhere that will take their time and perhaps culture the bacteria!! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This place is absolutely horrible. I went in for having chest pains on my left side, my PCP wouldn't see me and so I came here as it was the closest to me. I sign in and no one is up front. The receptionist finally comes around 10 minutes later. Does not acknowledge me whatsoever. She sits at the desk typing for another 10 minutes. No urgency at the URGENT care. I walk up to see if I could be seen. Before I make it to the desk she VERY RUDELY says to sit down she will be right with me. Now I'm not only in pain, I am fuming from her lack of care. She calls me up and I explain why I am there. She says "oh we dont do that here you need to go somewhere else." I respond with isn't there anything you can do this is an urgent care. She says Nope you need to go to an ER then continues typing. There is zero excuse for her lack of compassion, lack of customer service, and overall rudeness. read more
