I was quickly told I needed an appointment, even though there's a big sign right on their front door that says no appointment needed. What made it worse was that all the employees looked like they were around 16 years old and had zero customer service skills. No one greeted me with a smile, asked if I needed help, or tried to explain the situation kindly. After being turned away, I checked online and found out that it costs $50 just to make an appointment to try on wedding dresses. Between the misleading signage, the lack of professionalism, and the poor service, this was a really disappointing experience, especially when planning something as meaningful as a wedding. I would not recommend this shop. As a business owner, turning someone away is something I would never do. When you have clients you always make time or at least treat them with respect at the least.

I was told my size was sold out and was advised by a sales associate to order the dress two sizes larger, with the assurance that alterations would be simple. That was not true. A professional seamstress later confirmed the dress would need to be essentially remade at a cost of $350. I raised concerns about the fit as soon as the dress came in and continued to be unhappy with how it looked, as it did not match what I had been told to expect. My seamstress contacted the store (politely, while I was present), and a manager told her an exchange would be allowed. Based on that, I made an appointment and returned to the store. When I arrived, they denied that any exchange had been approved and falsely claimed my seamstress had been rude. At that point, I was left with a dress I cannot wear due to their incorrect guidance. I ultimately had to purchase another dress elsewhere. This was not my first issue with incorrect sizing advice from this store, although a previous situation was handled appropriately. Unfortunately, this time they refused to take responsibility. Very unprofessional and disappointing experience.

I thought to myself seriously, I just spent $800 on a dress helping out a local business instead of going to Baton Rouge or New Orleans and they have the audacity to ask for a tip! Fast forward a year and my best friend's son is getting married and I suggested to her to go there because they have a wide selection of Jovani dresses which she wanted. She called them and they told her she had to pay a $25 fee for an appointment (which did not go towards the purchase if you purchased a dress) so she paid the fee we went to her appointment, she tried on several dresses of which she loved two. One was in the store and a similar one they did not have in stock but could order. So when she asked if they ran the same in size the salesgirl told her she didn't know. So my friend said well let's get my measurements and we can compare so I can have all the information I need to make a decision about which one I would like to purchase and I can call back and order it tomorrow. She was told she could not be measured that wasn't part of the $25 and they couldn't measure her until she ordered the dress. It was completely absurd and they were totally and completely unwilling to do anything that didn't fall in line with their policy. My friend was so angry that she walked out and did not buy either of the dresses that she loved. It is mind blowing to me that a business would operate this way. If you have to have these types of policies implemented in your business you're doing something very wrong. I strongly urge anyone intending to have a memorable experience for their special event to steer clear from Ashley Renee. These people are worried about one thing, themselves and what they can make off of every customer from the ridiculous appointment fee to the absurd tip! They are utterly clueless about customer service.

She is so knowledgeable and creative and can help you find or create exactly what you're wanting. She made me feel so beautiful and is just so fun to be around! Their selection is great and price point is unbeatable. Funny story, I had my appointment in the dark because tropical storm Olga knocked out the power. Mrs. Jolie made it happen and we had the best time! If you're on the Northshore or Southshore, I highly recommend checking out Olivier Couture!

I would love to give this place zero stars…read more Let's see, I to follow up with Southern Bridal about a bridesmaid's dress, and then they decide to tell me it was ready in OCTOBER (it's the end of January). After no apologies, they said they 'called' me 3 times, (it's in my file so it MUST be true) yet the only time I received a call from them and spoke to a person was when they demanded payment - and never said anything about the dress being delivered. Now, I can understand - perhaps they called when my phone was turned off, which would explain no missed call alerts. Well surprise, surprise, they left no other messages! IT'S BEEN OVER 3 MONTHS SINCE MY $$$ DRESS WAS DELIVERED - REALLY, YOU WOULDN'T TRY A LITTLE HARDER? So it gets better. At the outset, I told them that I was an out-of-towner. Only now do they proceed to tell me they can ship me the dress but those charges would be in lieu of 'traditional' alterations, no matter that they said from the get go that alterations were included in the dress price. Guess they didn't have to pay for shipping to their store? The best part is, when I ordered the dress originally, they actually CHARGED me for fit alterations, as well as getting a larger size. Now, I can understand one or the other - extra fabric means extra cost. But doubling up on charges, and then charging again, really? Now, they get one star because a) zero is not an option and b) in all fairness, the other bridesmaids got their dresses. But I'm more livid because of the culmination of everything - it wasn't one little thing, it was MULTIPLE problems from these people. I RARELY write these reviews, but I'm livid enough at this point to do so. Here's looking at you Southern Bridal. All I can say is you better be making the bride a happy lady. I know you bridesmaid's out there may not have a choice, but at least you'll know what you're getting into. All of the attendees--close relatives, godmothers, cousins, the maid of honor, and myself--flew or drove in from out of state specifically for this appointment. We arrived 10 minutes early and waited until 30 minutes past the appointment time, but no one showed up. There was no way to contact them, and we received no communication from them. We even tried reaching out through social media and contacted the owner, Robin Dutruch, but still haven't heard anything back. This is an absolute disgrace and a terrible way to run a business. Their policy states that no-shows lose their deposit, but what happens when they're the ones who no-show? Fortunately, by the grace of God, I was able to contact the owner of Ashley Renee Bridal in Livingston, LA, last minute on a Sunday. They were incredibly compassionate about our situation and opened their shop to accommodate our party. I highly recommend avoiding Bliss Bridal; they clearly don't value their customers and don't deserve your business. UPDATE: the owner Robin called me back at 430 pm same day, and said she 'oops she forgot , she is not used to taking Sunday appts '. What??? No remorse nothing! Luckily we had just said yes to a dress at Ashley Renee's! Do not waste your time at Bliss Boutique & Bridal!!!
