After attending one of his classes I've felt the most peace and inner freedom that I've ever felt in my life. It was seriously one of the most relaxing things I've ever done -- I can have an incredibly stressful day, come here and leave feeling a little lighter and happier. ILY's classes encourage you to challenge yourself, yet find your own practice and they don't encourage their students to all "look the same." Their instructors recognize that every individual has different strengths and weaknesses and deplore how yoga magazines sometimes emphasize there's a "right and only way" to do a posture. Practically every class will be imbued with a tinge of spiritual wisdom, so if that's not your thing -- you may get a little turned off. I encourage you to stick with it and just take it for what it is. They are just words which may resonate with you or they may not. The practice is great. Best studio in Syracuse -- hands down. In fact, every time I visit my parents in Syracuse I make an effort to go to a class. My only wish is they would have such compassionate and knowledgeable instructors who are able to blend theory with practice so perfectly in every city.

In that short time my daughter has alleviated her chronic back pain, improved her posture and appearance, and amazingly even decreased her degree of spinal rotation. It is more than she has ever been able to achieve even in physical therapy. Terri researched her condition, studied her X-rays, and created a customized plan just for her. My daughter feels better not only physically but has grown in confidence and, even more, found a friend. She loves Terri and looks forward to every session with her. I see Dr. Anna for general wellness and for issues that come up as a result of day-to-day life, illness, musician injuries, and as a compliment (and assist) to my yoga practice and business. I have sent my yoga students (and their babies!) to her to assist with prenatal and postnatal challenges and also have recommended her to many friends and family so she could help them reduce and remedy chronic pain. I have always been nervous about and around medicine and doctors. From the first appointment, I felt like Dr. Anna truly listened to my concerns and made sure to address and discuss each one thoroughly, plan a course of treatment, and then provide follow up instructions. I have left every appointment with a better knowledge of my body and how to live and move in such a way that I feel better. After a recent accident, I was experiencing lower back pain in a way that made sleeping and standing for long times a real challenge - I made an appointment and the improvement was instant and marked. Also, I am a musician and have dealt with TMJ for years: Dr. Anna has worked with my and with my body in such a way that I can now make music pain and tension free when in the past recommendations were all based around reactionary solutions (pain medicine) rather than proactive solutions. Lissa and Thrive In Healing/The Syracuse Yoga Collective are among my favorites. I know that whenever I attend, I'm in for an easy, relaxing, rejuvenating flow. The energy is always good and the mood is always welcoming. I recently enjoyed a candlelight rooftop yoga session on a downtown rooftop on a particularly warm night in October (what a treat!) and it was so restoring and full of community and self-love. Plus, fun - there was a DJ! Lissa tends to end her lessons with a sound bath, which adds an extra element. Looking forward to even more experiences!
