Looking for a watercolor class in town and Simply Creative was one of the first places that came up and I easily booked my seat online. Super affordable as well! There was a handful of us that day and the teacher, Alyssa, was wonderful. We went through 3 different scenes and were taught simple techniques to get us started. The space was homey and comfortable. It also has adorable hand crafted and other items to purchase. I loved the class so much that I bought my own supplies and started painting regularly. So glad I found this place!

Had a great time last night at the painting class. I'm not a painter, but it was fun to get a group of girls together, have a drink and paint! It's BYOB which is fun or they have a fridge full of NA drinks as well! There are a lot of fun things to buy in the front of the store as well. Perfect for gifts for people who have everything

    Felt needling crafts!

Simply Creative hosted a free community night with a needle felting craft - I went with a friend and had the best time!! The environment was very welcoming, there were two long tables with open spots for everyone to sit together. People came solo, in pairs, in groups, but everyone chatted together with ease. The instructions were straightforward, but the store owner was readily available for any questions. Crafting and taking home a cute piece of home decor was a perfect Friday night - thanks Simply Creative!

The most obvious reason is that of course you want to smell what you're getting. But also I just love the whole ambiance when all the studios at the Northrup King building open up to let you wander around. And acutally, a really cool thing to do is save your used containers and bring them back, and they will sell you a replacement candle of the same size for half off! These are very thoughtfully crafted candles, with unique scents that I have gotten compliments on from my houseguests. They have new creations each time I come in, and they have different styles depending on your preferences. Some I've liked much more than I expected, like Tomato Garden, I've been stocking up on that scent, very pleasant! Check their socials for when they're open, but I think the normal thing is on Saturdays from 9-4 and on the first Thursday evening of each month.

Her story is very inspiring and I love how she's passionately sharing her talents with others. All of her candles are environmentally friendly and she also offers a candle exchange program that promotes healthy and sustainable choices for avid candle users who wish to recycle. Excelsior Candle Co is perfect for a date night, gathering with family or friends, or anyone that's interested in making their own candles with a guide. Her sessions are also very reasonably priced and are of great value. I think my favorite scent of all time was made by Heidi and it's her Guilt Free Egg Nog candle.... Thanks to her, every room in my home is warmly scented and I couldn't be more happy! FYI- They are inside Northrup King Building - Floor 2, Studio 206

There's a lot of fun gift ideas, but I will say the main items are geared towards children or women. I did find a shampoo bar I've been wanting, but was also browsing their cook books and candles. I found a new shop to consider when buying gifts for my two sisters. ‍ The staff were welcoming and nice and they talked up some of their chocolates at the checkout area. My friend purchased me a small chocolate that we enjoyed in the theater - they were right! Very good.

I snagged a seasonal ornament at 50% off and browsed for about an hour (could've easily stayed longer, but the rest of the day was calling). Such a cute boutique with tons of goodies! I absolutely loved ALL the jewelry. It's about a 30-minute drive from where I live, but it's definitely worth the trip, and hey, maybe I'll catch a movie too. The real icing on the cake was Julie. She was so pleasant and engaging and truly made me feel welcome. Great customer service is rare these days, and she nailed it-thank you, Julie! If you're in the area or looking for a fun little field trip, this place is a must. Everything is beautifully arranged: jewelry, candles, stationary & clothing, purses, and toys for kiddos. I'd say prices are normal for a boutique and the quality of everything is great. Plus, lots of unique finds. Side note- I was so zoned here that I completely forget to take photos.

There was a great selection of different scents to use to make the candles and I appreciated the variety of glassware available. The class was very self led with little interaction provided from the instructor which can be great for certain groups but I felt didn't benefit the group that was there that day. The shop was full of different decorations which were nice but it gave a cluttered feel and was a bit dusty. My apron that I was given to use was dirty with someone else's trash inside the front pocket. I like the playlist addition to the candle which was unique and a fun way to add something personalized to the candle. I wouldn't likely come for a class again but would def purchase a candle as they all smelled great.

It is such a good birthday activity, because you get to have a fun experience together and then take a candle (that you made!!) home! You can tell how much thought and love was put into every little thing at Kobi Co. The space itself is amazing. There is always amazing music playing and the room is so comforting and cozy. The candle making process is so fun! You get to pick out your scent combinations, which is always so fun to play around with! I love the process of making a playlist to play while burning the candle. It makes me think so much more about the vibe I am attempting to create (both through my candle and through my playlist). Then you get to finish your candle off with charms and crystals and create a label for your candle. The way Kobi Co. has set up their candle making class ensures that everyone is able to put so much love and thought into their creation. In addition to all of that, the mission of Kobi Co. is incredible and the fact they have a scholarship opportunity to offer to young BIPOC women. There are so many reasons to buy from and attend an event at Kobi Co. I can't want until my next candle making class!
