It's a small, no frills salon with friendly technicians. The pedicure area is dimly lit, making it very relaxing. Tip #1 - don't choose your polish there; do it before you go back. The lighting is very good up front, but in the pedi chairs, it's more warm and relaxed, making it more difficult to choose a color accurately. They have a huge gel polish collection to choose from. Tip #2 - take cash or use the Travis Credit Union ATM right outside. They use disposable liners for the tubs and they clean them right away. They use clean towels on the foot rest area and the chairs themselves are simple to operate. I really love how dim it is, much more relaxing than most other places which are bright and loud. The mani area is also comfy, just more brightly lit. Everything was clean and my technician didn't ruin my relaxation by talking my ear off. I know some people enjoy the conversations, but that type of interaction is often draining for me and I'd prefer to relax quietly. I didn't get his name, but the man who did both my mani and pedi (not the owner) had a great attention to detail. He was constantly checking his work and fixing tiny imperfections. I appreciate this tremendously. I had the basic spa pedi, which is $25, with gel polish, adding $10. My gel mani was $20, so the total was $55. Much more budget-friendly than the previous two salons I've gone to in the last couple of months. As I said, I'll definitely be back. I'm very pleased.

Unfortunately, my last two visits completely changed my opinion. During the first visit, the nail technician repeatedly cut the skin around my fingernails and toenails, causing me to bleed several times. He did apologize, but I was surprised that no discount or adjustment was offered after I was injured during both my manicure and pedicure. I did not complain at the time because I did not want to be confrontational, and since it was my first bad experience there, I decided to give the salon another chance. During my next visit, everything seemed to go smoothly. However, about a week later, I began experiencing severe pain in my big toe and realized I had developed an ingrown toenail. Soon afterward, several other toes began hurting as well. Because I walk frequently for work, the pain became extremely difficult to manage, and I eventually made an appointment with a podiatrist. After examining my feet, the podiatrist found that I had nine ingrown toenails and was also showing early signs of a fungal infection. I cannot say with complete certainty where the fungal issue originated, but these problems appeared shortly after my pedicure, and I had not experienced anything like this before. I had remained loyal to this salon because of my previous positive experiences, but after being cut repeatedly during one visit and then dealing with multiple painful ingrown toenails after the next, I no longer feel comfortable returning. I am sharing this review so other customers can make an informed decision and be cautious about how their nails are being trimmed.

But the worst part is how dirty the manicure station was. Also, she pulled out the implements from her apron. This gave me concern for the implements not being sterilized. After using them she then gave it a quick wipe with alcohol, which is not following Board requirements. Also, the nail file and sponge buffer was pulled out her apron and appeared to be previously used. Needless to say I will not return to this location. For those who want to know the Board's requirements for implements sterilization: Section 979. Disinfecting Non-Electrical Instruments and Equipment (a) Before use upon a client, all non-electrical tools that can be disinfected, excluding shears, shall be disinfected in the following sequential manner: (1) Remove all visible debris. (2) Clean with soap or detergent and water. (3) Completely dry tools with a new, clean paper towel. (4) Then totally immerse in an EPA-registered disinfectant with demonstrated bactericidal, fungicidal, and virucidal activity, used according to manufacturer's instructions. (5) Licensees or students shall wear protective gloves or use tongs when removing tools from the disinfectant. I was taken to a room where I had to seriously take off everything and wait for her all while being covered with two lil towels(eeek!). This being naked in front of a stranger thing is much easier after a long night of binge drinking... but I won't get started on that. Anyhow! She exfoliated my whole body with some sort of salt scrub, it really felt amazing. Afterwards I put my robe on and went into an other room where I jumped in a spaceship pod thing! She then put a seaweed mud wrap all over me and closed the pod. This thing was so rad.. it would vibrate and the temperature went up to 118 degrees! I stayed in there for 30 minutes. It was so relaxing I was very close to falling asleep a couple of times... but I was a lil worried that maybe I was actually fainting not sleeping because of the heat ha! Anyhow, this is an amazing way to detox after a week long drinking binge! I ended up sweating all the vodka away! I then took a quick shower to get all sparkly clean and this was followed with some body oil that she massaged on me. The whole experience was very different and fun! I want to try to come back again... this is a good way to shed that extra water weight some of us might be holding on to. I followed this up with hot yoga, what an amazing detoxifying routine!
