Hairstylist need to find a new profession. Had my Highlights done by a young staff name starts with M. Very poor service. I came in first, She interrupted My service with another customer. The color came out more like full color rather than highlights. While washing my hair, she did not give me towel to cover my face or neck. She did not want or was hesitant to blow dry my hair after the highlights & treatment, Like she was Just gonna make me walk out there with my wet hair. Did not bother to clean the Too much black hair dye left in my right ear and only when she learned I gave $15 tip at the counter did She got nicer. I had to go to the bathroom that's when I noticed the black residue left on my ear and I had to ask her for a Towel, clean my ears in the bathroom myself! Young kid who judges people and do not treat all her customers with the same respect. ALL CUSTOMERS should be greeted and treated thesame way. I knew she was judgmental, judges a book by their covers. I gave the tip more To teach her a lesson! The worst thing is she had bad breath. She ought to be ashamed of herself for Not knowing how to do her work thoroughly! Wonder what kind of training she had! Sorry ULTA, you need to TRAIN ALL YOUR STAFF CUSTOMER SERVICE. I was greeted as I walked in and headed back to look for my hair products. After I found my products I walked to the front to get in line. There were two ladies being helped although they seemed to be separate purchases. There was only one person at the register although seemed to be about 4 sales people. The one person being helped may have returned some items but it was taking time to complete the process. Then the other person with her I told to go ahead. Several staff were walking around but none came to the register. Took 15 minutes and then finally someone else came to help me. She must have been new as she had quite a few questions while assisting me. Staff were nice but took me only 5 minutes to get my items and about 20 to get checked out. read more

Customer service was trash for me. Was not greeted. Got to the area I was looking for and had 2 ladies helping one lady out. One of em could have at least helped me get one of the foundations out of the locked drawers. One broad looked at me and was glad to have walked away with the customer instead of telling me she would be with me in one moment. Wtf is wrong with people nowadays. As far as Ulta beauty is concerned, this is one of the better stores. The customer service is fantastic. Second to none! You walk in and you are greeted immediately . Someone asks if they can help you; if you're trying to figure out what shade you need in a particular product, they can help you with that. It's awesome. I will add that there ability to match my skin tone seems to be far better than other stores who have tried, and they've done it more than once. The selection is also good. I have also done some online pick up order orders and I haven't had any trouble getting them filled and they are ready pretty quick. My only grip is the beeping. They have the security things throughout the store that beep continuously. Today I had quite a bit of time. I was killing time waiting for a friend of mine. Figured I could go through their store pretty comprehensively with the amount of time available! However, within about five minutes, I had had enough of the beeping. It's just nonstop. I don't know how they work with that going on. I've been to quite a few of these, and this is the best one I've ever been to. Went into the store 3 days ago to buy mascara. At checkout, the clerk, Casandra (according to the receipt) wanted me to enter my email address. I refused because I'm tired of so much junk mail. She got very snippy, and at the end of the transaction, she thrust the mascara and receipt at me, and said "here". No thank you, have a nice day, nothing. The clerks must get some kind of a bonus or recognition for getting people's email addresses for Ulta's junk mail list. read more

Went in for haircut. The woman was super sweet no complaints there but I paid full price for a hair cut. 10 minutes in.... She's "done" with the haircut.... No layering... no face framing... just a little "clean up" as she called it. She literally snipped my hair like 5 times. Charged me 60$... if I'm gonna pay for a full on haircut, I expect a full haircut. If you want to trim it I'll pay trim prices/ very frustrating. They do a great job keeping my favorite items stocked and the store clean. There's always a ton of people there using the testers and not putting things back in the right place, so I appreciate the associates staying ahead of it so we can have a nice experience. Don't sleep on the rewards program, I've earned a ton of points that count towards money off your next purchase. There's also usually free gifts with purchases from certain brands. Today an associate named Jara helped me and got me a replacement gift when the one I earned was out of stock. She was super nice and patient! I think Ulta can get a bad rap because of the shoppers not being considerate of using testers but I've always had a good experience at this Ulta. read more

I want in to the Ulta in woodland with my daughter. I was asked by 2 employees if i needed help. At first i just wanted to look around before getting help. When the 2nd employee asked i took her assistance in finding makeup for my daughter she introduced me to Jara who was so friendly and helpful with my daughter. She was amazing at explaining what each product is used for and showed my daughter how to use them. She listened to my needs for the makeup I wanted something that would be light weight, breathable, teenage friendly. Jara has great customer service if you go in look for her she gets 5 stars. read more

My daughter and I visited this store today and were made to feel unwelcome 2X... 1st- salesperson laughed at my daughter when she asked if they carried a particular brand of shampoo. 2nd- I stopped to smell a candle on my way out.... Told my daughter my opinion which was that I've not found any candles that beat Bath & Body. This is a brand new Ulta. The interior still has the new shiny sparkle for being brand new. But the customer service needs improvement. I have shopped here a few times, I noticed staff are very chatty amongst themselves. Out in the open while they are on the floor, they have their private conversations amongst themselves. But they don't seem to realize that the conversations aren't private or possibly they do and don't care. On both visits, I had to go up to staff ( a pair, weird that the staff sticks to each other on the sales floor in pairs) and interrupt their conversations to get some assistance. Both times, staff (set of two) were standing talking for over 15 minutes with each other in a store full of customers on a weekend. How about using those great conversational skills to walk about talking to the customers asking them if they need assistance in a sincere manner?!? On my last visit, I asked about particular items (breaking up a conversation) and all the staff person could say is "oh we are out of that"...I can see that they didn't have it (thus the empty spot on the shelf in front of my functioning eyes and where I pointed to) but no thought to check stock. She made no attempt to look and just simply walked away, I had other questions. But I left and ordered off the internet from home. I suggest checking out that option, their website was way more informational/helpful than the live staff at this Ulta. read more

I came here because a friend recommended the Fenty pro filter foundation and a Mac foundation so I wanted to try them but needed guidance and color matching. I walked in and immediately one of the workers was SO kind and helpful, and was able to get me everything I needed but her customer service was TOP NOTCH. I got the impression that she was new to the store location because she asked another worker where certain things were here and there, but you can definitely tell she was not new to what she was doing. What I loved most was that she was extremely knowledgeable on all the products and helped me make the right decision for my skin and my desired look without trying to upsell me . I left feeling so taken care of because of her, I tried to leave her a tip but she would not except it (she said it was against their policy) but I really wish I caught her name !! I fully understand wanting to leave work early, but if a store closes at a certain time it should be open till that time. It's no problem to say "hey just a heads up we close in 10 min" but to fully lock the doors a full 15 min before closing is super frustrating when you are just trying to pick up 1 item. Worst Ulta I have EVER been to. When I walked in there were 2 people at registers and 1 was a tall woman with a dress and heels on with short black hair and shaved on the sides. The other I can't really remember because the woman who's tall is the person this review is about. (Forgot to mention she has an accent) as I'm walking in, she turns and looks at me and gives me a smile and generic welcome in. The store just opened and I came in to look for a few things. As I'm looking around nobody was really around to help me so I go up to her to ask where a certain product is. She turned to me and said "what? I couldn't hear you, what do you need?" In a very sharp and rude tone. I then repeated myself and she said she would get someone else to help me, and I waited for 20 minutes and nobody came. I've been to this ulta a few times out of convenience but this is what happens every time I come & I regret it each time. Staff always talking at the register and just rude interactions when I can find somebody. Disgusting behavior because I feel like the tall one is probably some type of management. Ulta really needs to do better in terms of hiring and rethink who they have on staff. Will be contacting corporate as I have had absolutely enough, nobody should be made to feel like a burden when you work in customer service!!!!!! DO BETTER!!! read more

This Ulta has a pretty nice selection, but the customer service here is severely lacking. The employees are always congregated at the register together chatting, not really circulating the floor to help customers. This is one of those stores where unless you know exactly what you need you'll be pretty lost. I've been here multiple times in the past month for Christmas shopping and have never really had a great experience. A few employees are amazing but the rest it's like social hour. Past issues: I wanted help foundation shade-matching, and the Lancôme finally employee came to assist me (after about 10 minutes of shopping around). I was looking at Tarte foundations and asked her specifically about those, but she immediately tried to sell me Lancôme products-- very annoying. Then at the register an employee was complaining about how earlier shift people didn't do something properly, and when I inquired about the free gift I was supposed to get with my purchase, she acted like she had no clue what I was talking about even with the signs ALL over the Ulta displays saying gift with a certain purchase (which I bought). Very frustrating!! Also, prepare to wait in line when you come here--they're usually chatting and only have one register open! read more

My fiancé's experience today: I wanted an ombré look and was told it could be achieved and was charged for an ombré hairstyle but got a basic full hair color instead. Very disappointed. Note: She called and researched to make sure they could do exactly why she wanted in the picture she provided for them. I had a curb side pick up and I got to the store parking, I parked on handicap because of my health issues and I waited 25 minutes after checking in online. I had to get out of my car and slowly walk to the store and there were 4 employees standing against the counter doing nothing. I've gone to Ulta for years using my Ulta credit card. It's always been saved onto my account and I can always pay for my purchase without having to swipe my card because they have it saved on my account. And this is regardless of any location that I go to and it has always worked. So how come it doesn't work now? Angela, the cashier, was really rude to me and did not even offer to try to help me. She just said "there's no card" and did not offer to try again or find the solution that I needed. Instead she was very dismissive and impatient. I find it very hard to believe that "there was no card" on my account. Was it because that it was close to closing time or because the purchase that I made was not "expensive" enough to your liking? Really don't appreciate the unnecessary attitude. Every single time I go here to buy Ulta makeup and recieve my free gift the women behind the counter never give me my free gift. Then when I ask they say oh that gift has been recalled or no sorry we don't have any. Or we give out free bags with that? Some of these women may be keeping these free gifts. They are worth $88. When I walked in I was a greeted with a hello but I have no idea where it came from. I searched around for the item I needed and couldn't find it anywhere it was an eyeliner and all I could find was mascaras I found one eyeliner in the wrong spot and it looked like it had been opened the top was all bent up. so I got in line because I did not see any other employees around the store. The lady in front of me had got three products that were supposed to be buy two get one free but they were all ringing up at full price so the cashier had to call the manager to come out to try to help her. Turns out one of the items was on clearance so it did not work for the buy two get one free and the girl had to go try to find something else to get. The cashier asked me then to come up tearing me up I asked her my question and she went out to the floor to try to find the item for me because I went with her she immediately passed me off to a male employee who happened to walk by who told me that they must not have it and walked away. When I went back to the counter there was a large line and she was ringing someone up so I got behind that person. She looked at me like I should have gotten in the large line again. I told her that if they hadn't had any I would have just purchased that one but she just left me the second the male employee started talking to me without another word. Worst experience ever at this location it was 7:50pm and the manager had already closed the store even though online it says they close at 8:00pm not 7:50 four customers including myself were outside waiting to speak to the manager. The manager came to the door and the customer that was waiting with me was holding the door open trying to talk to the manager and the manager (Tanya) quickly yanked the door and almost hit the customer with the door from how hard and quickly she yanked it. This unacceptable behavior from a manager! She needs to be fired it's not the first time she's been rude when I've been in the store! Terrible way to handle the situation. Wish I could give zero stars. We were booked for hair and make up for an important photo shoot and one hour before our scheduled time THEY CANCELLED! Leaving us literally in tears and scrambling for another place to go. They said the person assigned to us called in sick. The lady who called was apologetic but stated the only option for make up was the Mac counter which will do your make up if you purchase the make up. No thanks. No other option for hair as " the other girl is booked". How about come in early to take over the missed appointments? Never again will we shop there. My friend and her boyfriend went to this location to shop for a gift today. On their way out, they were abruptly stopped by an employee at the door (she was a shorter Caucasian lady with brownish red hair). She went out of her way to jump in front of them and ask if they needed anything. This is not something a customer service rep usually does when a customer is on their way OUT of the store. This employee was insinuating that my friends had robbed the store. Whether this was because they went into the store holding a target bag (a shop right next door) or because of their complexion, my friends left the store feeling completely disrespected.
