One of the best ice cream stops on the Erie trail. We stopped in after an afternoon at Port Burwell beach, and it was just brilliant. The hard ice cream is great, there's over 40 options plus all of the other treats. I did not like their soft serve, it tasted like a weird watered down (somehow?) frozen yogurt. The food is way too expensive for the quality. More than once we've had fries that have tasted like old/burnt oil. However, the rushes they get are insane, and for staff that's primarily made of students they do exceptionally well in terms of keeping up with how busy it is. We really enjoyed this little ice cream shop, the staff were amazing, they spent time telling us about their 48 plus flavours, and accommodated my request to have the whip cream on side side for my dog. There were only two of us getting ice cream, we decided to share the banana split, but it would have easily fed 4, and all of this goodness was sitting in a little boat tray with two halves of a banana. We got to choose three scoops, so decided to get the port Bruwel treasure, Jamoca almond fudge, and the rum and raisin (the last one I don't recommend, we were terribly disappointed with this scoop). We were also able to choose from I think 7 sauces to top it with, and the option to have cherries and nuts. I would highly recommend trying this little neighbourhood joint. read more

Delicious icecream, a little on the pricey side, but it's nice to have an ice cream shop in town!

We spent almost $30 on pizza rolls and a family size French fries. One family in front of us and the wait was still 25 mins. When we did get the food it was was over cooked. I asked the staff if they think they over cooked it and they said no that's how they cook it. No help or empathy. So I don't really like the fact they didn't even apologize or try to fix it. We were stuck with an over cooked half burnt lunch :( read more

BOTTOM LINE: I like big scoops and I cannot lie... This is *the* local ice cream shop to drop in along your drive - especially if you're here for seeing the submarine and the lighthouse in Port Burwell. With about 30 or so flavours (and at least 8 shades of chocolate), you sure to find something you like. The scoops are HUGE, so the average person probably doesn't need more than one. They also have sundaes and twirls as well, if you're into that. Simply Scoops has two parts -- an ice cream part, and a burger and hot dog part. They have two different places to order, we only got ice cream, Simply Scoops = Simply the best! We had spotted this place when we drove through town Saturday night, and made a note of it for when we were out bike riding the next day. One drawback: no real bike racks that we could spot. We hitched our bikes up to the railing and went inside. They've got a Baskin Robbins amount of flavors, everything from strawberry to 5 types of chocolate to even a flavor called "Port Burwell Sunken Treasure." Initially, I was thinking of getting two different flavors, but then I saw how big a single scoop of ice cream was -- it's definitely the size of two scoops anywhere else! I ended up going for the Rolo flavor, which was caramel ice cream with ribbons of fudge, and little tiny Rolo candies. Delicious! Lee really enjoyed his strawberry as well, it was nice and creamy and well balanced. If you're in town for camping or just going on a drive, you won't be disappointed if you stop here! read more

The blueberry cheesecake flavour was so yummy. I go here every time I go to Port Burwell. The girl serving us was very rude. Didn't look like she wanted to be at work. She didn't smile or make eye contact. After I paid I said 'thank you' and she just said 'ya'. Hopefully new staff next time we stop in. read more
