A very nice restaurant / bar in Turkey Point by the beach (not sure why the address says Vittoria) and a very nice patio to eat and see the lake. The servers were very friendly. I ordered their perch tacos. The servers were able to tell me that they didn't have perch but they used cod instead, which was fine. The flavors were good, just missing some citrus so I took a lemon wedge from my water and squeeze some lemon on my tacos and it tasted better. Update. Curious as to whether the owner has addressed any complaints on these reviews. Good business practices would be to acknowledge reviews good or bad. They obviously don't care. Business is not easy but I think this lack of interest just shows how much they care about their customers. We spend the day in Turkey Point and we were starving for some good food. There are many restaurants to choose from but we decided to try the sandbar. The Waitress recommended fish and chips as she said it was amazing.... so I ordered 2 orders. Unfortunately, the batter was rock hard and the fish was so thin and was incredibly dry. For the money it was Absolute garbage. Who ever created the batter doesn't know what light crispy fish tastes like. We were so disappointed as we did want to like this restaurant. The waitress told me we should try the burgers and wings on Wednesday and Thursday but if she thinks the fish is good - then it's a definite no. read more

Took a drive from London specifically to try this restaurant. The location is great...right near the beach. I ordered the Turkey Club sandwich and a Caesar which were both delicious. My husband had the Rueben. He said it was good, but the bread was soggy on one side. The patio area is very nice. The reason for only 2 stars? The wait staff!!! Very rude, aggressive and unprofessional!! When we arrived there was a bit of a line up with us being first in line. A lady behind us just wanted to know if they allowed dogs on the patio, so when a waitress walked by she said, "excuse me" to get her attention. The waitress turned on her saying, "can't you see we are busy? (there were a couple of empty tables and a few waitresses on). You'll need to wait your turn". When another waitress walked by, the lady asked her question and was met with a very curt and abrupt answer. A simple "I'm sorry no" would have sufficed. When we asked to be seated in a Geo Dome on the patio, the waitress that seated us acted like she was being inconvenienced because she needed to find 3 chairs (there was only 1 in the Geo Dome), so my husband helped by finding one. When she came back, she snatched it out of his hands and said, "this one can't go in there". The waitress that served us was obviously being passive aggressive by not making eye contact, speaking minimally and walking away before we finished speaking. I'll add that at no time did we stoop to their level of disrespect or react in a negative way to their rudeness. Although we did express our discomfort at being treated poorly. Blond waitress walks out into the patio where we were standing and without saying hello she says "not open until 4 pm". We got there at 3:30p. We asked if she could at least give us some drinks in the mean time and all she said "closed until 4 pm for social media". Found her to be very rude and abrupt. Stopped in today for a couple of beers & some apps on this super hot day & were VERY impressed. We didnt have a reservation but the server was able to seat us super quick & was very friendly. Both servers working the patio area were phenomenal, friendly & quick with service but not hovering over tables uncomfortably. Had the wonton nachos and 2lbs of wings (1lb Hot/1lb "Turkey Point Magic"), all the food was great, especially the TP Magic wings, very flavourful & cooked perfectly. WORTH THE WAIT! Long weekend in August and everyone was thinking the same thing. Patio, drinks and food. Place was packed and before seating we were told food wait will be about an hour. We decided to wait it out and that was the best decision. $5 Caesars were delicious. My husband had the burger with briskett and it was amazing. I had the shrimp po-boy and it was awesome. Our friend had the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was very good. We watched all kinds of different food come out from wraps to sliders, fish and chips and perch tacos and everything looks amazing. As locals we had never been to this restaurant. Mainly because we thought it was a tourist trap. This was far from it. Top notch all round. We will be back. read more

Our second visit to this establishment, and I'm afraid it was not nearly as good as our first. Granted the last time was in the summer and we enjoyed sitting on the patio and watching the lake. It was a warm day in March but still not warm enough to enjoy sitting outside. About 3 pm on a Friday so it was not busy. We entered to a greeting and suggestion to sit where we liked. Our waitress was friendly and helpful and rightly suggested that one order of the special of fish and chips was probably enough for the two of us (we are elderly and don't eat much. So we added a Cesar salad and then proceeded to wait, and wait., for about a half hour before the salad arrived. Odd because there was only a few people in there. The salad was very good and we thoroughly enjoyed it, but then another long wait and finally the fish and chips arrived. Chips were okay but the fish was terribly overcooked. Dark brown thick breading and the fish was very dry. A shame because it was otherwise a good experience. The time before we had the wing's special which was great so my recommendation would be to avoid the fish and chips. read more

We were vacationing in Turkey Point this summer and stopped in for dinner at the Sandbar. I was expecting a tourist trap with mediocre food but our experience was far from that! Arriving early around 5pm, we were able to grab a seat on the lakefront patio right away and we ordered a pitcher of the Muskoka Summerweiss (on special that day for $15). Since it was wing night ($0.75/wing), we ordered two dozen - one dozen salt and pepper and one dozen honey garlic), plus a side of fries and a cheese pizza kids meal ($8) for the family. Food took a bit longer to arrive but we were happy to stare out into Lake Erie with our cold drinks. I was impressed with the the wings once they arrived...large and meaty! Service was friendly and casual and we never felt rushed even though there was a line forming for patio seating. Gladly recommend this lakeside eatery and would return any day for wings with a view! read more

Thanks to other reviews, we came here after checking out from long point provincial camp ground. Food was unbelievable! So fresh and inventive. Don't plan on counting calories here though! The Cuban was such a decadent greasy masterpiece, we even went with the poutine waffle fry upgrade and so glad we did. Amazing patio ambience with a view and laid back welcoming service. So glad we found this spot. Stayed at Long Point Eco-Adventures and staff suggested we could catch the game and get a great meal at Sandbar. Such a great spot. Live music. Friendly staff. Met the owners mike and klarissa who were awesome. Soup of the day (sweet potato squash) was delicious and very homemade. Try the bruschetta!! Fish tacos used fresh perch and were fantastic. We came on a Sunday after a day on the beach and like many others wanted to sit on the patio. The wait time wasn't very long (about ten minutes) even though there was a pretty full house. The food came out a little slow but it wasn't too big of a deal, service was great and there was a live artist on the patio! The food was amazing, your typical beach food, outstanding nevertheless. Last night was our third visit in the last month. We live close by so we wait until it's off season to avoid waiting for tables. The food and service are great! They have great specials like burger night, wing night. The perch tacos are the best around! By far. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because they don't take reservations. I understand in the busy season but would be great in the off season for larger groups. Otherwise no complaints, never been disappointed. read more

We came here after heading to the nearby beach and wow the beach was fabulous but this place was even more fabulous. It was pretty packed so we had to wait at the bar for about 30 minutes (its a small place), then we got a seat on the patio which has a water view. It was lovely. It doesn't look like the type of place that would amaze you but we were definitely amazed. The menu has a ton of options, and many good vegetarian options as well. The service was so excellent even though they were all crazy busy they didn't fail to be very friendly and attentive. There was one girl at the bar who was insanely busy and was the only one working the bar but she was doing such a great job. The food was so delicious and the portions were fairly big. Unfortunately it takes about two hours to drive here from the Brampton area but it was so worth it! Highly recommend, and we will definitely be back! read more

It's truly rare for me to feel so strongly about a restaurant, but this place is ridiculous. We tried to go to this place for dinner maybe a month or so ago. First, of course, the parking lot is ridiculous. It is very tiny, very tight and cramped, with only one lane to it from the road. It's behind the restaurant, so you can't see if there is parking. But first, to get to the back parking lot, you have to avoid hitting drunk pedestrians from the Sandbar On The Beach that choose the laneway to the parking lot to hold their cell phone conversation. Then, you carefully maneuver to the back lot. You find 0 spaces, which means to have to make a ~50 point turn to avoid hitting parked cars, to come back out. Except, in the meantime, 5 more cars have tried to get in, and are in the laneway so you can't even leave. And it happens to be at the end of the road, and so you have to drive into a community in order to be able to turn around because the road in front of the restaurant is packed with other cars waiting to try their parking-lot-luck. Once you do get a spot, and walk into the restaurant, they will tell you that it will be a minimum of an hour wait, and oh, come back later because there's nowhere to seat you, nowhere to wait, and they really just couldn't care less. But of course, if you actually leave, then you have to try your parking lot luck again. And then once you get in, you have to hope like hell they decide that this time, you're actually worth having as a customer. On our second attempt, lo and behold, the parking lot was almost empty!! So, it seems, 4:30pm is the time to go for 'dinner'. We again had to dodge the drunk guys on their cell phone, who turned to yell at our car when we honked to ask him to move. THEN, when we get into the restaurant, the waitress says 'pick any table'! We do, she gets menus, and brought over the booster seats. We sit and start to look at the menu. Then another waitress comes up to say we can't sit there, at some unspecified point in the evening someone else will want to sit there, and she's promised it to "them". In the meantime, of course, any other available table has filled. So, we're kicked out of the restaurant, with a now-screaming 3 year old, now-crying 4 year old (incredibly polite kids who don't understand why the waitress has decided they're not good enough to serve), to get back into the car, to try to make it out of the insanely designed parking lot, to try to find a different restaurant for dinner. We even talked to the manager, who basically said, "Suck it." This was 4:30pm on a Sunday, for crying out loud. Not exactly a 'dinner rush' situation. Why you spend an hour trying to park in their lot only to have them kick you out, I don't know. I wish they would at the very least put a traffic cone in the driveway to warn you not to even try to park because 1. the lot is full, and 2., they don't want your business. I highly recommend staying away from this end of Turkey Point. This was our second try and we were treated like less than dirt both times. read more

We stayed at Long Point Eco Adventures and the staff recommended this place. Really close by and perfect spot on the beach for a walk afterwards. We went and it was wing night so we had the Lemon Pepper and Honey Garlic. Both were great, nice and crispy. The Lemon Pepper could've been more flavourful though. We also had the Perch tacos to start. Those were really good! Our waitress was friendly and attentive. My only complaint was that she forgot about the fries we ordered. When she came by to ask about our wings she offered to expedite some for us but we were too far into our wings to get them in a timely fashion. By that time the restaurant was swamped. I would still go again though. Nice atmosphere, good food, and friendly staff. read more
