He seems like a nice guy, and his family is very congenial, but I certainly wouldn't recommend him to anyone that has real body/frame work that needs to be done. If anyone wants actual pictures of the fiasco that cost me 25 grand but didn't accomplish much, just say so and I will gladly post some.

I took my Conversion van in to be detailed at FGD on March 9, 2019. We had just purchased it and…read moreit was clean when I brought it in. The previous owner had smoked in it and we wanted it steamed cleaned, washed, waxed & detailed. Price quoted $160. I picked up the van on Friday, 3/11. Michael was still working on it when we arrived, hence it was in a garage stall where the lighting wasn't the best. He told us that the carpet was still wet and we would need to keep it in a garage that night with the windows cracked so it would finish drying. Only about 12 inches were cleaned at the back of the van. The reason I know that is that nothing was moved underneath the couch and there was a box under the coach next to where the "VERY" wet carpet was. When I mentioned it wasn't good to have that box on the carpet that was wet, he said it was OK. If the carpet had been done that box would have been soaked and you would have seen it had been wet. It was a box of brand new brake pads.) We followed his instructions and the next morning, Saturday, I went out to look the van over and to start moving our things in. While the step wells were "Armor-Alled" and the leather seats were wiped down with some "leather conditioner", I found MANY things that were NOT done. I showed up at his shop on Monday morning. He pulled in and I was right behind him. I told Michael that we had a problem. I started to show him all the things that I found. He kept accusing me of wanting "New", I told him "No, I just wanted it clean - that's what I paid for!" After wiping off the top of the inside of a door and seeing the dirt, he told me to bring it back the next day (Tuesday) and he would take care of it. I showed up the next morning. He had not arrived yet, so my husband & I waited. He showed up and we left the van. I picked it back up at 4:30, he was not there and took it home. Again, I started to move our things into the van and went over it and his "fixes" were very shoddy. See the pictures below. I tried to load a video of wiping down the dash next to the windshield but the file is too large. Just that one video would have said it all. At any rate, I will never go back to FDG/Michael. He did an absolute HORRIBLE job and is not a man of his word. Also, if you notice the two 5 star reviews were done in 2016 & 2017. The 1 star review was in 2018 and mine in 2019. Do yourself a favor, do it yourself and treat yourself to a steak dinner!

It's annoying when emails are never (and I mean NEVER) answered when trying to set up appointments. (God bless Angie and Scott and Natalie at Koby Subaru for never letting Ricky's Pleasure Island Misfits get away with lazy half-cheeked vehicle details.) The last straw bale that broke this ersatz St. Sebastian's back was a vehicle that was returned with multiple knife-cuts to the side of a leather seat and a 5" scrape on the top surface of the driver's seat that removed the top layer and color. And oh, yeah, they decided to break off the electric mirror adjustment control as a thoughtful bit of lagniappe. A horde of people at Koby verified the new damage (easy peasy since the mechanics and service writers knew none of the damage was there when they were working on the vehicle BEFORE it was sent to Ricky's House of Carnauba Horror) and one sharp-eyed individual noticed the vertical slices in the new clearcoat. (The clearcoat was new because of damage to the car door during a previous Koby service appointment. But that's a story for another time.) Interestingly, Ricky used his transcontinental psychic abilities to prove that he knew the damage wasn't done by his employees. One hopes he learns to channel this invaluable trait into predicting natural and manmade disasters so that he can be of true value to mankind. Meanwhile, I would advise finding a different auto detailer unless, of course, one of your longstanding Family Traditions involves instructing Beauregard to take the fleet of Range Rovers and Buicks for their quarterly Simper and Shine under the tender ministrations of Alabama Auto Clean OR you have documentation certifying you are a bonafide Local and Well Connected Member of the Community of Mobile.

They are amazing!" They have several levels of service, but it's all listed at their website. I told the guy how highly recommended his company came and I jokingly told him he now had to live up to his name. He laughed and promised they would. They did! To be honest, I didn't even get a carpet shampoo, but it looked better than when the detailer did it in Atlanta and that was WITH a shampoo. I got the "Complete Detail" which I'll admit is pricey. I paid half of that in Atlanta, but again, the one in Atlanta wasn't nearly as good as this. I'm not rich and I have a really old car (it's a '97 Geo with over 150k miles), but I do like to get my car detailed at least once a year just to keep it looking decent. All I can say is that you are definitely getting what you paid for. I don't like to part with money at all (see my review for the dollar theater in Atlanta) and am a serious bargain hunter. Still, this was worth it! I'll definitely go back and tell everyone I'm very pleased. :)

Requested that vendor to diagnosis the tapping noise in my diesel engine. Kept for couple of days…read moreand got a call to pick it up. Said they didn't hear the tapping noise but radiator was low on antifreeze. Charged me $235 to add antifreeze and test for leaks. Didn't diagnosis any leaks. Picked up truck and drove 3 miles down the road and the tapping noise was apparent. Drove back to vendor and tech listened to the engine and said that there was a tapping noise, didn't know what is was but don't worry about it. Drove home parked vehicle noted drip from engine and discovered that water pump was leaking. Overpriced and unable to properly diagnosis problems.
