Cindy helped my partner, Erin and I plan our wedding. Yes, she's obviously very gay-friendly,…read morethough she also does heterosexual weddings (and is heterosexual, herself).
She had us answer questions about how we met, what we love in each other, and how we relate. We're both therapists, so we appreciated this way of delighting in our relationship through memory, experience, and our senses. Cindy then used our words and phrases to help us create a meaningful, beautiful ceremony: one that was focused on our love of poetry, our commitment to creating community, and delight in each other. In fact, since music was central to our wedding, Cindy played our song (I'm Yours, by Jason Mraz) each time she worked on our ceremony to help her get into the mood of our wedding. Part of what Cindy does so well is to honor the words, feeling, and descriptions of intentions of the people getting married.
We wrote our vows with Cindy's support and editorial advice. She was there for us -- emotionally as a support, inspirationally as a guide, and organizationally as a planner.
When it came time for our ceremony, we had read each other our vows several times and when we read them again, our experience of them deepened all the more.
We wanted a warm-hearted, meaningful, deeply personal wedding.
Our vision came true!
Everyone invited to our wedding felt included, and each person told us how much they loved our wedding, how different it was from traditional weddings in that they learned so much about us as people and as a couple, and how it was THE BEST WEDDING they had ever been to!
Though we are spiritual more than religious, Cindy honored that. (She is experienced in creating weddings of all denominations).
She helped us put into words and experience our vision. She spent time with us, crafting her vision of what we wanted: something deeply meaningful, funny, and, warm-hearted. It's an art to put together a great wedding experience, and Cindy does this with heart. She was a full participant as well as our officiant!
Her presence, her certainty of all things going well, and her willingness to provide support and guidance were central to our ceremony. She has vision. She has openness, and full centered heartfulness. We are so grateful to her!
If you want a personalized wedding, Cindy Matchett (appropriately named), is your officiant! She offers her heart, soul, and her mind in creating a personalized ceremony.
