I'm pleased to endorse Sinai Construction for a job well done! Last year, we noticed the side of our house had a serious drainage issue. We've lived here for several years, but only noticed the problem recently with the heavier than usual rains. Every time it rained heavily, we experienced serious water intrusion into our usable basement and garage (2 separate areas of the property). I spoke to two other companies who recommended injecting the basement walls from the inside of the basement. I got the impression that those businesses worked on volume and were proposing work that wouldn't actually solve the problem. In contrast, Daniel came out with his team, took diligent measurements, sent me a detailed proposal, and explained to me the cause of the problem. He invited me to a neighbor's property to show me the work Sinai was doing there, which was similar to the work I needed at my property. I ended up going with Sinai Construction. Very disappointed and upset with how I was treated by this company. I contacted them to get an estimate for a simple retaining wall for which I already had the construction details. I was told that they charge a $100 "Inspection Fee" that includes a complete inspection, measurements and report. I thought it would be worth paying the fee to make sure I was doing the right thing. The company sent out an "inspector" named Josh, a young but nice looking guy that took some pictures and measurements. I gave him the $100 and asked him several questions to which he kept replying "I'll have to check with my supervisor". Hmmm? Why does the "inspector" not know the answer to my construction questions? Two days later, I get an Estimate from the company letting me know they would build the retaining wall for $67,000! No photographs, no report, no alternate ways to save money, and no explanation for why it costs so much! In other words, I got NOTHING in exchange for the $100 except an over-priced estimate. I have enough experience to know that their estimate isn't even in the ballpark! My mistake for agreeing to pay them $100 just to come out. I would have never agreed to this if I knew that all they were doing was putting a quick estimate together. Shame on you Sinai! Don't call it an "inspection" or "report" unless you're going to deliver. Please tell your potential clients the truth ... that you're simply charging $100 per estimate. Very deceptive! I emailed the company to let them know what had happened, to let them know that I felt deceived, and to let them know that I was very dissatisfied with what I received for $100. I was told "we've been in business for 34 years and you agreed to it." I will NEVER do business with this unethical company that values $100 more than their reputation. read more

I requested an estimate for drainage issues back in October 2017, and there was no mention in any of our correspondence that the estimate would take 3 weeks. The person who did the inspection was nice and thorough, but when he finished, he said I should have been told about the long lead-time. I emailed the company to see if we could expedite the process to get work done before the rainy season and was told they would get me something by the following week. Fast forward to four and a half MONTHS later and I receive an email out of the blue asking if I still want an estimate for the work. Why even bother to email at this point? We have used Sinai Construction for all of the foundation projects and absolutely recommend them for any sort of foundation work. These guys know their business and are a real asset when it comes to dealing with the city grading/building department. About two years ago, we had to build a 100 foot retaining wall. Doing this on a hillside is a long and stressful process, but it had to be done. Gary and his crew were fabulous and did everything they could to make the job go as smooth as possible.
