Better & less expensive...a winning combination. When you move, one of the things you need to do is find a good barber. It's easy to overlook, but it's a very true statement. I had tried a few places since relocating from the shangri-la of Philadelphia; none of which were that bad (but not great either), all of which were expensive. I mean like 2-3x what I paid in the 215th. $70 for a clipper cut...come on, fam. So, I was still on the lookout for the Bethesdan home base. I saw Sinatra's situated right across the street from one of my Bethesda favs, The Writer's Center, and thought I'd give that a try next. It was a good call. The space is clean, and professionally put together. Check. I was getting ye ol' tighten up from "Q". Star Trek reference, I think not. Super chill. Super professional. Didn't rush through the job, and it was (and is) an excellent cut. With a men's haircut you also get a wash...from a most expert washer. It was more like a dang head massage...awesome. (Btw, tip your washer). And if you need a cherry on top, they were spinning some old school hip-hop. All of this brought me to $50 (plus tip). Sinatra's, for me, is an absolute no brainer. My situation kind of reminds me of the movie Barbershop in that I wanted to get a haircut and clean up my beard for a new job opportunity so I was looking for a men's barbershop that offered both haircuts and shaving. Being new to Sinatra's I scheduled a cut with anyone and was matched up with Chuck, who was AWESOME! I'll be requesting Chuck for my future visits because his service was outstanding. Pros: Great atmosphere, great location, friendly staff, easy scheduling system, and great services offered. The interior is clean and stylish, it definitely gives men's salon vibes. The variety of music was very eclectic, I had to stop myself from singing the songs while I was being shaved. Cons: Price, Parking, Location My cons are all related because the location is great but bad at the same time, there's limited parking unless you park in one of the garages down the street but if you want to get a cut and grab some lunch it's a prime location. Obviously, pricing is relative but also related to location as I'm sure rent impacts the amount you have to charge but at the same time I'm used to seeing the same stylist that charges me the same rate she's charged for over 10 years. Ultimately you pay for what you get, there are so few barbers that still offer shaving that this is a premium service that I will always pay extra to have a professional keep my lines straight. Highly recommend, especially for anyone that's looking for a full service men's barber! Added bonus that everyone there seemed really dope and down to earth. Will I be back?? Absolutely!! Especially before holidays when I want to look sharp! Not a good haircut. They cut your hair facing away from the mirror so you can't see. Then he span me around for a second but already had the bib off and there was no chance to object. I got home and washed it and immediately knew I had to get it fixed somewhere. So I spent $60 here and then $40 near my house getting it fixed. read more

Three stars because $60 for a buzz cut is a bit excessive and prohibitive. Tony did a great job and I received several compliments on the cut, but this cost more than a salon and I was looking for something a little more reasonably priced as I've just been getting a number 2 buzz cut. Good location off of Wisconsin Ave and facilities were decent. I'll probably return occasionally at this price and find somewhere willing to give a more reasonable price for a buzz cut. read more

Frank is the man. Truly a great barber, but an even better dude. My first time getting cut, I forgot to wear my contacts and I ended up giving him poor directions on what I wanted. He did exactly what I asked, but when I got home and really got to take a closer look, I realized I had given bad instructions and my haircut was a little long for my liking. I texted him and asked if I could get it fixed up, assuming I would need to pay again. He told that things like this happen sometimes with a brand new customer and asked me to come back and he would fix it up for free. A few days later, I visited him again, this time I wore my contacts and had an old reference picture that I showed him. In less than 5 minutes, I walked out of Frank's shop with the best haircut I have had in a long time.
