If not the gym is on the top floor so the views can also be enjoyed from there. The hotel has been renovated but still has an old and stuffy feel to it in many public areas. The upstairs (2nd floor) restaurant has however been nicely renovated but for some reason it appears it's only used for breakfast. The entrance level restaurant is used in the evenings and that totally lacks charm and that is still the best aorta of it as the food is barely fit for human consumption. It is actually amazing that they can be so bad - they have totally failed with simple dishes like burger, steak and caesar salad. What makes it even more strange is that they serve a really good breakfast so it must be intentionally lowering ambitions and quality during evenings. The rooms are most of time large, light and airy. The bed comfortable and the bathroom fairly newly renovated. Dislike the big bottles of shower gel and shampoo - understand the environmental aspect but I like the small little bottles. The gym is nice and modern and actually has decent equipment. The service is very much up and down and it does tend to be busy at times so can be a wait at checkout especially. It is not a bad hotel but also does not really deliver any great things so cannot rate it more than 3 stars.

The location is as good as it gets in Malmo and you will have many shops and restaurants right outside the door of the hotel. The hotel opened last fall (September or August 2010) and it is of course still very nice. Have stayed here several times and service has always been pleasant and quick. The rooms are nice, most of them are not that big but still sufficient. There is free wifi throughout the hotel and the rooms also have coffee/tea making facilities, safe, LCD TV, iron and ironing board. There is also an umbrella in each room. Beds are comfortable and in every room I have stayed in there has also been a decent-sized desk and a comfortable chair. I do appreciate the fact that the hotel offers a good selection of TV channels (there are a few movie channels as well as sports channels). The hotel also has a very nice gym (not that many machines but they are top-notch). Breakfast has also been well-above average with a good selection of both hot and cold food. Walls and ceilings are super, super thin - we can hear (and feel) our upstairs neighbors jumping around and talking now - every stomp they make shakes the whole floor. It's like sharing the room with whomever is adjacent to you. Amenities super bare bones and room not very clean (hair and smudges in the sink). But, a lot of space for the price, cheap parking, and good location if you just need a one-night transition spot before heading elsewhere. We will see if we can sleep tonight with the thin walls.

The breakfast space used to be the street between buildings and it's fascinating to see how they have kept the original architecture and built a glass canopy. We arrived at gone midnight and had to buzz for access. Checking in was super easy and the member of staff was friendly despite the late hour. The room was basic but perfectly fine. The bathroom could do with a refresh but that's my only complaint. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of options. There's a small cafe/snack bar by reception selling snacks and hot drinks. There's also a fridge with sandwiches and salads etc for a takeaway option. There's a large car park around the back which isn't associated with the hotel but had a lot of parking, payable via a number of apps or text message. It's walking distance from Malmö train station and the shopping district.

When you hear "hostel", you may think of close quarters and dirty community bathrooms.. but I was…read morepleasantly surprised to see that Danhostel Copenhagen Amager was well-kept and inviting. I stayed for a week during a university trip, and we had rooms that included a bathroom (not all do!). The rooms themselves were dorm-like, but spacious enough to keep your luggage. There are storage cubbies to put your belongings in (use your luggage lock!). The windows do not have screens, so make sure to close them before you leave to keep thieves out. My only complaint with the room's bathroom was that there wasn't a buffer between the shower and the rest of the area, so the floor--and potentially your dry clothes--would get wet. Although we had a bathroom, a few of us did use the community one to make sure we left on time to meet our morning itinerary. It was clean, with individual stalls and separate areas for showering and changing, and you needed a room key to get in. The breakfast was good, and the community areas were inviting. We were able to take a pack of beer and sit upstairs and watch football games. I would definitely stay here again, even if it were just with my husband.

The rooms were pretty small but for a hostel they were not bad! One thing I thought it was weird is that you pay for your own sheets and towels. Towels I understand most hostels make you pay for it but paying for your sheets was a little weird. You had to put sheets on your blankets as well as your mattress and your pillow. Considering the blankets looked from the 80s they should have just done that for their guests. The breakfast wasn't bad! They had eggs, cold cuts and fruit along with various types of breads.

Breakfast buffet is from 0630-1000 and has a variety of meats and cheeses, breads, cereals, pastries, yogurt and hot items. If we were ever in Malmo again this would definitely be where we stayed!

Well I settled in at the Radisson in Malmo after 8 straight days so far on the road and ordered a Pilsner and asked for a menu. Bartender had a cool old west mustache and the place was very basic but felt like home a bit. I ordered the beet salad - the bomb- and the Swedish veal meatballs and they were really good - as well, and yes, I know, I always forget to take pictures! Mashed potatoes were amazing and it came with a cranberries and pickled cucumber side salad that really worked with whole dish!
