But I also wanted to use it as an opportunity to make a few memories with mom and dad before the icing started flying! From our first call to our last interaction Amanda always provided accurate information about her process, product, and the value of her work. She described the photo session and told us to pick a theme for the shoot. I usually have about a million ideas going through my head, so I really relied on Amanda to recognize what interested us and succinctly come up with an idea(s) that was doable. We settled on "strawberry" and it was PERFECT, being that our baby's absolute favorite food is strawberry. We did both a Cake Smash session + the Family Add-On with all of us. Our daughter is not shy at all, but she clearly had one thing on her mind and that was food! She didn't seem to laugh a lot, which had us worried about the photos that Amanda was able to get -- maybe it was because she was busy eating nearly 8 giant strawberries, and 1/3 of a cake! Despite this hiccup, we were absolutely blown away by the photos Amanda was able to capture. She was patient during the entire shoot, but also very thoughtful with her method for explaining how things would work + directions for parents during the shoot, etc. This made for a really enjoyable experience. Our baby didn't cry once! She was just happy to take it all in and smash some cake. When we got the photos we were genuinely so moved. Amanda truly does have an eye for the camera, and knows exactly what works and what doesn't. AND we even got a handful of photos where our baby is all smiles -- and even I didn't see that during the shoot. I guess I was too busy making sure it all went 'perfectly' -- just goes to show you that the photographer knows 100% what's going on and which shots to capture We will treasure these photos for a lifetime. She worked with us right from helping us choose the locations for our TWO ceremonies. My partner and I are both born and raised in India and as such were not very aware on how to go about planning our elopement in a different country. Leah sent over a very detailed list of potential locations, with pros and cons of each, she worked with us to understand how we envisioned the day. She helped us zero in on the two most gorgeous venues and travelled with us to both of them, including pit stops at our apartment to get the cutest photos with our cat and the hotel where we changed into our Indian attires for the second ceremony. Leah also helped us chalk out the timeline for the day and ensured that we had little buffers for little delays here and there. On the day of, Leah worked perfectly in coordination with out planner/officiant. She got the most beautiful and real pictures of the two ceremonies. I am the most awkward person in front of a camera, and she managed to make me look like beautiful, she perfectly caught the small little moments during the ceremony that we would always cherish. For our Indian ceremony, she went ahead and found the perfect little rock at Belle Isle and got the most perfect golden hour shots of our garland exchange ceremony. We went to Susan's studio, on what I swear was the hottest day of all time and although I felt hot and sweaty and yucky, the pictures turned out fabulous. The ones of my husband and my kid are just PRICELESS and they make me so happy. Susan has a way of capturing the moment so that all the joy and expression and emotion just comes through. If there wasn't a photo to prove it, you'd never know there was a photographer documenting the moment and for me, that's the style I like. My husband did NOT want to go, but we decided to since I already had given the $100 security deposit. We had to schedule way out because they don't photograph babies younger than 9 months and mine was 5 at the time. The most stressful part to me was the outfit choices lol! They have strict guidelines. We got there and took photos, it went great. I really wish we had taken them on the dark background (idk why they choose the background that matches your clothing). Anyway, when we were done we went to the sales room where they show us all the pictures and sell us a package. Right up front I told her we were not interested in buying anything, as this was a Facebook giveaway I won -- I wasn't seeking it out. She understood. I told her we weren't going to spend any money aside from security deposit. Then of course, she informed us that the $2000 credit was only useable when you spend $6000+ or something like that. So we ended up getting an 8x10 (with the security deposit) and the lady actually threw in another one for free. They were all very nice and we had a good experience overall.

We show up, have a blast taking the pics, then we get sit down to choose them...I thought something was off when they started the presentation with payment plan options....turns out the little "$500" means nothing when these portraits minimum start at 2.2k. We felt backed against the corner, threw it on a credit card, and walked out like did that just happen??? Then fast forward 3 months to pick it up, it comes with NO FRAME! No one told us that we paid for a picture on cardboard for 2.2k. Genuinely mind blowing. Putting people in uncomfortable positions and misleading them is NOT a way to do business.

I only go during matinees because my one experience going at night was a little too chaotic for my taste (rowdy crowd vibes). But for daytime showings, it's quiet, low-key, and comfortable. The seats are decent, and the ticket prices are standard for any movie theater these days. My only real complaint isn't even about the theater--it's the eternal mystery of why someone will come sit right next to you in an otherwise empty theater. We have rows of freedom, people! Overall, it's not the flashiest Regal, but it's clean, reliable, and way better than some of the alternatives in the area. I go here pretty regularly when I want something close and predictable.

When he sent me the link to view the photos I was extremely impressed. He has an amazing natural ability to capture their personalities perfectly without them even realizing what happened. He "enhanced" some of the photos with some extremely cool techniques which highlighted the best parts of them. I followed all of his recommendations for paper type etc and absolutely L.O.V.E. my prints! His prices are incredibly reasonable and the turnaround time was far quicker than I would have thought possible without a rush charge. I am working on booking him to take our family photos soon- he just happens to be quite busy in the next few months- and I cannot wait to see how amazing they will be too! I highly recommend Leland and when my 16 year old daughter needs senior portraits done next year, I'll be calling him as well.
