We had an appointment with Brooke. She was well prepared when we showed up. Had our ideas all on her iPad. With one tweek we were ready to go. We walked through a very cool looking shop, newly painted with cool artwork all over. Friendly workers all around. Brooke started by getting me comfortable after she put the stencil on my back. She is very meticulous and wanted it to be perfect for me. After many check-ins with the different stages, it was done in one hour. Had an appointment here last week for the first time and can't speak more highly of this shop. The shop itself is clean, comfortable, and professional. The location is a little strange but once you're inside it feels totally normal. The tattoo artists here are all so lovely, friendly, funny, and accommodating. They were hilarious listening to and chatting with. Brooke did my tattoo and she is incredible. I am so glad I chose her to be my new artist because I couldn't be happier with her work. I've even booked her to start a sleeve. She did my husband's start to his sleeve as well and it came out amazing. read more

Been coming to Sink or Swim for tattoos a few years now. Went to their previous place in NT. The new place is so great. Has a modern feel to it. Really clean every time I've been there. Staff is great from when you step in the door until you leave. Multiple great artists. I've been to Keith and Shannon. I will never to another place since I love going here so much. When anyone asks me or asks on Facebook or anywhere for a tattoo shop, I say sink or swim. Everyone is really professional. everything is clean and sanitary. Has a great atmosphere and good vibe in the shop. It's right across from the Niagara Falls airport. If you haven't been here before you may pass it because it's in a business park and the driveway is tough to find if you don't know what you're looking for. Big sink or swim art on the window so shouldn't miss the building if you look for that. read more

I was recommended sink or swim a few years ago and Sean, my artist, was doing a giveaway on a tattoo that I won. I loved his work so much I said "I've found my new artist". His line work is crisp, he takes his time making sure everything is perfect. I give him a general idea on what I want and leave everything up to him. To the person below who complained about a touch up a YEAR later costing the shop min of $80 & calling that "bad customer service" FYI many shops offer free touch ups within 6 months or sometimes less. Not ALL shops offer free touch ups. But many do. The reason they do is because there are a huge variety of reasons a tattoo may need a touch up. SOMEtimes it can be the artists fault most times it's the clients fault and sometimes it's nobody's fault. Either way, free touch ups are a professional COURTESY. Not mandatory. Especially a whole YEAR later. NO shop would offer a free touch up a whole year later. So shop min of $80 is normal to have a tattoo REDONE. Furthermore, most shops do not EMPLOY tattoo artists, they are mostly like independent contractors who either pay a percentage to the shop or a flat rate to the shop monthly. They are self employed. If you go to a shop for a touch up from an artist you've been tattooed by in the past & they are no longer working out of that shop, FIND where they ARE working. It has nothing to do with that shop. That shop is not obligated to each of its artists clients. They have no obligation to you. Especially a YEAR later. The fact the tattoo didn't initially cost that much also has nothing to do with the shop either. Maybe at the time they offered a special, or thier shop min was less or your artist was an apprentice at the time. Apprentices are less money in the beginning. If the tattoo was only the size of your thumb it probably was an apprentice. Your 1 star rating based on everything you said was not warranted. At all. Your experience was 100% normal. You'd be told the same thing at any shop. I thought I'd share this response in case anyone reading that uneducated rant thought it was legit because I care about my industry. read more

My mom wanted a small paw print tattoo and I convinced her to come to this shop because of the raving reviews and I thought they would do a great job. Now a year later the tattoo is already faded and needs a touch up. She called the shop and we thought they would let us just stop in and get touched up considering the tattoo is as big as my thumb nail and would literally take 2 minutes to touch up. The artist that did her tattoo no longer works there so the shop refused to do any touch up unless she paid the minimum of $80 which her ACTUAL TATTOO didnt even cost that much. This is the worst customer service I've ever seen. She got that tattoo at this shop under their name, it shouldn't matter if that particular artist doesnt work there anymore. I cant believe they wont even touch up work done at their own shop unless you pay the amount of an entirely new tattoo. I would never get a tattoo done here knowing this. read more

I have been tattooed at several shops around the area. Sink or Swim is the only shop that keeps me coming back. I am always greeted promptly. The shop is extremely clean and the artists and staff are personable. I've been tattooed by Tom and Amanda both of which I would recommend depending on the style you're looking for.
