Nice local coffee shop in Edgewater, so much better than any commercial chain with lots of unique flavors and options. Had to wait a little longer with only one person working but it was fine. The space is big and great for hanging out/studying. Thought it was funny that there was a tip jar despite being cashless...got one of the special lattes and it didn't have too much listed for nutrition/sugar levels, only had a little over half since i felt like i was consuming too much empty sugar (or maybe I wasn't--but it was awfully sweet), but that's on me for not asking. I came here to get some work done and there are plenty of tables with outlets. The coffee and food itself is pretty expensive for the quality. I ordered the Iced Tuxedo Mocha (which was over $7.00) and there was no real coffee flavor while the chocolate tasted cheap. For food I tried the Raspberry Danish and it tasted store bought, which would have been okay if it wasn't $4.25. They also served it on a paper plate which was interesting for a cafe. They did bring it to my table and the staff was friendly when ordering. It was also nice that while she was walking by she took the empty plate later. This was a nice addition to the Edgewater neighborhood! It was a Starbucks prior to, but I feel like this coffee shop is more cozy and has a lot more fun, flavorful options. I went in to wfh last week and it was spacious and clean. I love the artwork and decor inside, very welcoming. I tried the strawberry dragonfruit refresher, it was pretty good, a little sweet so I added a little water. I also tried their strawberry lychee hot tea, delicious! I'm not a huge coffee girl, so I love that their menu has a variety of drink options. BOB. read more

I just moved into the immediate vicinity and discovered the Starbucks I had visited there previously hd closed and been replaced by Sip & Savor. The place is reminiscent of the old Starbucks with the same large open relaxing ambiance. The service was relatively prompt and the clerk replaced the brverage zi spilled almost immediately at no chsrge and the spill was removed quickly. . The thing to know is the place is cashless, which is why I cant give it 5 stars. It is annoying and elitist and seems like a passive way to keep the poor and honeless from being able to be customers, as they rarely have debit or charge cards. read more

I have driven past the Sip and Savor Edgewater location since they opened last fall, however I did not enter until today. Parking: paid street parking and I heard free parking down the street during certain hours. Coffee tasted excellent, however was pricey. I paid $12 for coffee and a slice of cake. I was glad to see they have $2 Coffee Tuesdays. Staff was very friendly and welcoming the moment I walked in. Place was extremely quiet; lots of people were on devices. Decor was cozy. I sat at window and enjoyed my afternoon treat. Nothing against the store (workers were extremely friendly and knowledgeable of all their coffee flavors), however I also guage the clientile to determine if I will continue to visit the location. The customer entering the store did not hold door for me and seemed exclusive; maybe its the North side community in general that I feel is not friendly. I may return to a different Sip and Savor location where I feel comfortable. read more

I am happy to have a new coffee shop in the area. I have visited Sip and Savor a few times since they have opened and it is nice to see them build up their decor each time I visit. Sip and Savor opted for a warmer decor with a lot of tables that could accommodate solo to large groups. I love the vibe of the coffee shop. They play really good music but the music can be rather loud and feel like you're at a concert. I found myself singing along to a lot of the songs so it was a killer playlist. I did notice that it gradually got louder the later in the morning it became. I normally work from coffee shops to do work so I can see me mainly working here when I don't have a lot of calls. The staff that I have interacted with have been very friendly. I love that they have a variety of mocha options since that is normally my go to. Over my last few visits I have opted for the iced tea since is refreshing and they have a ton of options. During my last visit I purchased one of the breakfast sandwiches and I was able to try the cinnamon roll my husband purchased. The cinnamon roll was delicious and the breakfast sandwich was okay. I was disappointed that the original sandwich I wanted was so popular that it sells out within a few days of them ordering it. I hope that they are able to figure out the right amount of food to order to last throughout the week. But since they are newer I always give them a pass for the first few months to allow for growing pains. The prices at the coffee shop are a little on the higher end compared to the immediate mom and pop coffee shops but on par for what the pervious Starbucks charged. What I look for in a coffee shop: good regular coffee, good seating, WiFi availability, good service (things such as long hours, good food, ambiance are all additional things I consider). Sip and Savor is located in Downtown Edgewater, which is not a very busy area so parking isn't hard to find, though I walked. Hours (6am-6pm M-F) are pretty standard for coffee shops in the area. The decor is very warm and modern urban, with wooden paneling and probably so of the most comfortable seats you'll sit on at a coffee shop. Outlets plentiful and they do have WiFi, provided you buy a drink. The barista was very kind and inviting and even remembered my name later in the day when I went back to order something else. It's the summertime so I got an Iced Americano. Before I splashed it with a dash of milk, I made sure to take a sip of it straight and the notes were dark chocolate and bourbon to me (I def do not have a sophisticated coffee palette). Overall, I really dig the place and would come back to do work. read more

Finally, check out the new black business coffee shop in the old Starbucks space. First, the interior is beautiful. Love the hardware floors, and the rust color on one of the walls. Plenty of tables to hang out and study. The service is nice and friendly. The employees greet you when you come in. I ordered the iced coffee and cinnamon roll. The iced coffee tastes cool and refreshing. I think they used a dark or medium roast for their iced coffee. The cinnamon roll came in a package with its fine. Love seeing a new black-owned business here in Edgewater. This will be my new spot to hang out. read more

I've been a few times and my experiences are mixed, however, they are brand new so I decided to round up to 4 stars, in hopes that they can work out some of the kinks. The first couple times we went, the customer service was amazing and we loved our drinks. We went for a third visit, and I ordered an iced coffee with pumpkin spice syrup. It somehow tasted both cloyingly sweet but bitter at the same time. My friend ordered an iced latte but got handed what looked like a cup of milk. When he brought it back up to the counter, they pushed back HARD about it and insisted he got the drink he ordered. It turned out that they'd made him an iced chai so he WAS right in asking for a remake. Hoping that the third visit was just a fluke, we went back. I ordered an iced dirty chai but was charged over $7 for the drink itself plus $3 additional for the espresso shot. I knew it wasn't going to be a cheap drink but $3 to add a single shot of espresso into a chai seems excessive. Also, yes, the pastries are from Costco which doesn't bother me so much because Costco pastries are delicious, but buying wholesale club pastries and selling them for $4+ each does support my point that their prices are HIGH for what you get. I was super excited to see a non Starbucks open here and especially looked forward to supporting a black business. I'm not totally blown away yet but will give them another chance eventually. read more

Rarely leave reviews but really tired of going to coffee shops where the person at the counter really doesn't want to explain things to you if youve never been there before. I walked in recently 40 mins before close wanting an egg sandwich and figured they might not be serving them which I told the girl at the counter it was fine but I asked her what their sandwiches were like and she looked at me like I'm dumb and when I asked if there's a menu she said so condescendingly "it's right here" while proceeding to palm the menu that was there and walked off. But there is so much to look at it's easy to miss all the signs. Don't know if I'll ever go back to get a sandwich cause I thought I was being nice and just left feeling dumb and awkward while she proceeded to have a personal conversation with someone else off to the side and cussing and laughing. I've been in customer service for 15 years and don't want to put all the blame on one place but feels like it's a spreading theme across coffee shops and counter service. Sorry I've never been there and was wondering about your food! & sorry to anyone else for the long review. Bummer because the inside looks super chill and clean. This place is alright but I'm most likely not returning. Pros: nice ambiance. The place was cozy. The art work and aesthetic was nice. It seems like a good place to get your work done. Calm and comfy. It was super clean and nicely decorated. Cons: the coffee was overpriced. I ordered a dirty chai. In the menu, it said $6.50 for a regular. When I looked at the screen they charged $.50 for large and I asked them if they can give me a regular and they said no because that's the only size they had. So I was just confused as to why they had that on the menu. The barista who took care of me seemed apologetic but the rest of the staff didn't seem friendly after that. The coffee was mid. Place an UberEats pickup order. Went there and not only was the order not ready, it was news to them that it ever came in. Not sure if they ever connected to my pickup order. But by then a Manager was looking over the clerk's shoulder and said,"You just ordered a Sandwich?" And I said I ordered Two. After a 5 minute wait they produced a single sandwich. Picked up and checked the bag and said, "Dude!?" Was told the 2nd sandwich would be 5 minutes. Left and came back for pickup and not a "Sorry" or "Won't happen again". Just ignored. I gave 3 Stars because I assume it was a bad day and that most times they know how to deal with online orders. Not a good experience in their store. read more

Yesterday, I went to the Hyde Park location, and the customer service was excellent. I truly want to support a Black-owned business, but to be a mid-level to upscale cafe, your packaging should reflect the image you are trying to present. The cup holders are flimsy and cheap, and the plastic bags are what you would buy from a candy store, not a cafe. My drink spilled as I returned to my car because the cupholder could not support it. Also, you should improve the quality of the breakfast sandwiches, specifically the turkey sausage, egg, and cheese croissants. For the (price), it should be a whole croissant and not half. read more

Sip and Savor has 5 other locations but this is my first experience with them. They just opened. The coffee is pretty good, much better than the Star Bucks that used to be at ths location. They are not as expensive either. They have pastry and bagels. What makes them different is that they don't take cash. Pretty smart as they cannot be robbed. What is outstanding about this place is the fabulous decor. It is just beautiful between the wall designs and the couch in front of a carved wood tabls besides the regular tables. The people are also friendly. I am not always sure how to handles cashless places but they were very patiend. I don't carry a phone but my card worked also. If you are looking for a coffee house to sit and read or chat, this is a great place. read more

This is a very cute place, very cozy, in the neighborhood. The cons are: overpriced. They charge way too much to be so new and their customer service could stand for some improvement.
