Maiden Voyage is a weird store and right up my alley. Maiden Voyage is owned by a young lady who goes to yard sales, estate sales and the like in Ketchikan and the neighboring areas and gets items to sell at her store. The pleasant clerk that chatted with us explained this. So many strange and interesting things in this store. From gorgeous oil paintings of the harbor to vintage jewelry to tin signs to a skull necklace to rocking chairs to chest of drawers to the American flag art made with shells to books to plates, this shop sells you Ketchikan. Many nautically themed things are for sale here like shells, glass floats, ship paintings, earrings that look like Mermaid jewelry - no idea what kind of metal but no other way to describe it, see pictures. The items slither out the door onto the porch so check out the full area.

The only one we could find was hot pink, and my dad reluctantly said yes to it. Since we had some time to explore, we thought we could try to find some black electrical tape to wrap around the cane to conceal the pink. Naturally, we were referred to this hardware store. When we explained our situation, the staff's reaction was the best. They broke out in a boisterous laughter and immediately said that they might have the perfect solution in their back room. I thought they were going to sell us some overpriced electrical tape since they were the only hardware store in a tourist town, but what the gentleman came back with would be worth much more. He had a super durable black mesh pipe cover that would fit like a glove over our cane! We were ready to pay a pretty penny for this highly specialized product, but to our surprise, they were so nice and told us that it was their gift to us. No way! This just doesn't happen these days when everyone is looking to make a quick buck. They even threw in a roll of professional grade electrical tape to keep the ends of the mesh from fraying. They wouldn't take our money, but in the end, they reluctantly let us leave them a few dollars. We all had a good laugh and the staff even said that they might change their business model to "hardware AND cane repair. " lol Sad that we probably won't be back in Ketchikan, but I highly recommend them to anyone who has a special project. These guys are creative and can help you find a unique solution! No project is too great for them!

Unfortunately my two stones came off from my very unique ring. Worse yet I was traveling and did not notice it immediately. Stones lost ! I contacted Poker Creek Gold and the owner Lincon contacted me immediately via phone. Apologized and said on rare occasion these things can happen. It indicated that my 5 year warranty would cover all the work. I sent it directly to the repair shop and received it back in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately they used lower quality stones (even though they had the original pics of the ring ). I contacted Lincon again and agreed with me and contacted the repair shop. He gave me the option of money back or an additional repair or a new ring that was basically identical to my original. I went with the new ring. All this with no cost to me. Lincon always called be right away and explained my options. There was no avoidance of the issue, no attempts to get to take an inferior product. Can't say enough about awesome customer service and value for my dollar. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
