The president of the comany, Ami Jones, is extremely easy to work with and cares about all the sitters and families. She reaches out personally in order to ensure that sits are filled in a timely manner and is accomodating of changes that need to be made on a case by case basis. I have sat for many families and organizations all over Columbus during my 1.5+ years of working with Sitters Unlimited. I have had only a couple instances of not receiving payment on the day of and Ami made sure to touch base with the clients and facilitate them sending the payment to be via mail after the fact. Sitters gives this same condiseration and respects to its clients. I have grown close to a few of the families I've met through my involvement with Sitters. The website is easy to navigate and user friendly. This is a safe, convenient option for many Central Ohio families, churches and establishments and provides a great gig for many experienced sitters to connect with babysitting jobs. Though I have a full-time job and do this on the side, I know a plenty of sitters who obtain a much higher volume of sits easily. I support this company and would recommend it to anyone.

The women they paired us with (Susan), was so kind and professional. My usually reticent 3-year-old took to her immediately and was super-disappointed when the days with Susan were over. I couldn't have asked for more. I highly recommend Sitters Unlimited in general and Susan in particular. It was very easy to work with the owner Ami Jones to set up this out-of-town hotel sit. If you're visiting Columbus with kids, use this company!

We have recently been in search of additional options for sitting our children. We have a good…read moreregular sitter, but it's nice to have a backup plan when she is not available. I think it's fair that we are picky when it comes to who watches our children- they are the most important people in our world! So we signed up for the service, which in my opinion is worth the fee considering the abundance of available sitters they have on their roster- it's nice to have a sure thing. However, the one benefit you won't have here is that you will not get to meet the sitter ahead of time. Being that we're picky with our sitters, that was hard to get over, but understandable. When you book your "appointment", you can view profiles (which are very detailed and helpful!) to request a sitter. I wish you were able to select an alternate, because there were several great-sounding sitters, but it only lets you select one. If she declines the job, Sitting Made Simple picks one for you. I'd like the option to request a few sitters that we like (I assume as we keep using the service that we'll come across a few that we like). Also, we live out in Johnstown OH, which they do provide service for, but there is a $10 additional mileage fee we have to pay the sitter. That's understandable since we're outside the city, but it would have been nice to know that before we signed up for the service. Onto the good stuff: Booking the appointment online, looking through the profiles to make our sitter selection, and receiving communication by email that our appointment was confirmed- all a very good experience. We weren't sure what to expect when our sitter showed up, except what we read on her profile. We were VERY impressed by our sitter. Not one single complaint here. She was very friendly, made a good first impression, and was very personable, yet professional at the same time. Our kids warmed up to her immediately and it made it very easy to walk out the door for a few hours, leaving our children with someone we had never met. This made me think that they must have a great screening process in order to secure such great sitters! I really enjoyed the notes that the sitter left us at the end of the night- Sitting Made Simple provides a form for them to fill out. Our sitter gave us a full verbal report, it sounds like they had an excellent time, and the notes were helpful! We will use this service again. We'd love to have the same sitter come back again, but I am now confident that there are probably several great sitters available. Hopefully we get just as lucky next time!

When my 84-year-old mother got out of the hospital after having pneumonia, she was extremely weak…read moreand bed-ridden. My adult brother and sisters hoped that we could take care of her on our own until she recovered. We soon realized that although one of us could be with her most of the time, we needed some help, not really medical help because she had visiting nurses and a visiting physician. We need a caring person who could help her get to the bedside commode, keep her hydrated and just try to make her feel better. Our wonderful sister-in-law took it upon herself to try to find caregivers that would care for our mother like us. She scoured the yellow pages and called Granny Nannies. After speaking to the owner, Heidi, she was so impressed that we set up a meeting with an aide for the very next day. We all met Paula, a retired RN, and liked her immediately. She started the next day, sitting by our mother's bedside, helping to make her more comfortable and coaxing her to eat and drink. Then, several days later, we needed help overnight because our mother was very restless and needed someone to be right there with her during the night. Although some of us were coming in from out of town and my siblings who lived there were often spending the night, we were simply not equipped to provide care during the night and then try to work during the day. So, Angelina came to be with our mother so we could sleep. After several weeks, we moved my mother to my sister's house nearby so my sister was there during the night if my mother needed her, although the aide was right there with her. My mother was slowly getting weaker and needed constant attention because she was unable to do anything for herself. Finally, we needed a third aide to be there from 3pm until 10pm to have coverage the full 24-hours a day. So, we called Heidi again and\, like before, she sent another lovely young lady to meet us. Sara began the next day and we were her first clients with Granny Nannies. She was so wonderful with our mother, sat with her and watched the old movies that our mother loved (but couldn't really see or hear too well), helped do everything she could to try to make her more comfortable. She looked up smoothie recipes online to try to come up with something "not sweet" that my mother would drink. The night before our mother died, Sara was talking to us about some candles and room sprays that might help our mother's anxiety or help her sleep better. After hearing her ideas, I immediately got online and ordered some vanilla and lavender pillow sprays that promote sleep. My mother died the next day and her Memorial Mass was a week later. Both Heidi and Sara came to the Mass to pay their respects. I and my entire family can wholeheartedly recommend Granny Nannies if you need help caring for loved ones. When I met Heidi after Mass, she said that she has an elderly mother and she would not hire anyone that she wouldn't have care for her own mother. It was very difficult for us to even consider bringing in outsiders to care for our mother and we knew she would hate having strangers in her house. But after meeting Paula, Angelina and Sara and seeing how they interacted with our mother, we thanked God that we had found them. And our mother was, too, because, weak as she was, she would take their hand and lay it against her cheek and say "thank you."

The caregivers could not have been more professional, kind and nurturing. Russ and Heidi handpicked each aide based on experience level and personality, choosing the right fits for my mom and her level of disability. They were there for her 100% and supported our family all the way through her passing. Truly excellent and highly recommended service.
