I want to give a huge shoutout to Six Chuters Charter in Marco Island for making my birthday fishing trip unforgettable! My wife booked a deep-sea fishing adventure for me, but as the day approached, the weather took a turn for the worse--cold and windy conditions. However, the team communicated with us ahead of time, offering the option to reschedule or go ahead with the trip. We decided to go for it, and I'm so glad we did! Captain Kevin met us at Rose Marina, and we set off full of anticipation. Unfortunately, the Gulf was too rough, so we had to turn around. Instead of giving up, Captain Kevin took us to some backcountry fishing spots to wait for the winds to settle. After a couple of hours, he offered us the choice to either call it a day and go back without any charge, or try again to head out to the Gulf. We decided to give it one more go--and this time, it paid off! Captain Kevin got us on a huge variety of fish, including Snapper, Mackerel, Ladyfish, Grouper, and even a Lionfish! We caught fish non-stop until our cooler was packed full, and we had an absolute blast doing it. What could have been a canceled trip turned into the perfect day, all thanks to Captain Kevin's persistence and dedication. As a bonus, Captain Kevin cleaned 72 oz. of fresh Snapper fillets, and we were able to feed our entire party of nine at Cocomo's! We had a great time with Capitain Kyle he was super patient and once we got our live bait our family was catching fish. We were able to keep 8 good sized ones and he was kind enough to filet them out and we took to CJs by the Bay and they made up an appetizer out of our catch. Late Review I had been scrambling to find and schedule a fishing trip for Father's Day weekend. I read about many other charters mostly with bad experiences and came across Six Chuter Charters that had minimal bad experiences. I cannot express enough gratitude towards Captain Kyle for taking us out and catching plenty of fish. My nephews and parents tagged along and he was kind and fun to be around. Chartered a boat this morning with Rob. We had a great experience the entire time and the fish were biting like crazy. Rob was super knowledgeable and friendly as well as quickly helped out anyone who needed assistance. We even were able to take a route to spot some dolphins. Caught 62 ounces of fish for 6 people in only a couple of hours. We're guided to Cocomo's and they cooked the fish we caught right there, it was awesome! read more

We had a wonderful experience with Six Chuters and Captain Mark today! We were fishing with an 11 year old and 15 year old and they had a blast. We caught a large variety of fish and ended up with 44 fish as a family in just a few hours! The highlight was a quick stop on an empty beach on a barrier island. Kyle was our captain and was awesome; highly recommend him. When we weren't catching fish or we were catching ones we wouldn't keep (catfish and barracuda) he made sure to take us somewhere else so we would leave with dinner. Did the half day (4 hours) fishing trip with Robbie as our guide. Caught some fish, which was fun, but spent WAY too much time trying to find/catch bait for our trip. To me, that should've been taken care of before we got on the boat. Also wish Robbie would've taught my kids how to cast, instead of doing it pretty much every time for them. Casting is part of the fun. Overall, it was OK, which is what we rated it here. read more

Went out fishing with Six Chuter out of the Rose Marina with my dad, brother and boyfriend and had a great time fishing 5-mile reef. I've been deep sea fishing on bigger boats for sharks off the coast of San Diego as well as charter fishing on Tahoe, and this was closer to the Tahoe experience (perhaps it was the length of time we booked because I think you can book longer trips where you go out further on bigger boats). However, we were looking for a 4-hour, morning trip with a few members of the family and were referred to these guys. Our Boston Whaler-looking boat would probably have fit 6 or 7 comfortably, so with the 4 of us and Captain we had ample space. The boat was clean, seemed well-maintained, and had a large cooler with ice in case we brought food/beverages. I would advise any ladies with small bladders either cut down on the liquids before the trip or inquire about a larger boat with a toilet on board, as ours did not have one (obviously a non-issue for the boys). Our captain (Mike, I think, but I have forgotten in the 2 weeks since we went) was good at finding the fish and kept our hooks in the water as much as possible. While the day we went out was a toughie fish-wise (due to a storm that had shifted the currents, apparently), we managed to catch a ton of fish (lots of Jacks, not good for dinner) and about 10 keepers including a sweet Spanish Mackerel. The other Six Chuter captains were all looking for the fish, too, so I like the fact that Six Chuter had a healthy number of boats out there with their eyes open for good spots. Captain gutted the fish for us right at the dock at the end of the trip so we could take them home and make fish-tacos that night for dinner. Our trip was pretty pro, as opposed to a sight-seeing, lazy, beer guzzling fishing trip, but we wanted to catch some dinner and Captain obliged. I think he was "feeling us out" when we got on board, so if we had been looking for a different kind of trip or had some kiddie fishers on board, I'm sure we would have been accommodated. Having said that, we rented a pontoon boat out of Rose Marina a few days later and threw some lines in the water, but didn't catch nearly the number and kinds of fish as with Six Chuter, so I felt like we got our money's worth by having a Captain take us to the good spots. read more

Captain Bobby at Six Chuter was great for our backwater fishing trip. He is easy going and quite humorous. We had some interesting weather leading up to our trip that made for not the best fishing, but we still caught plenty of fish to keep things interesting. Everyone in our group caught at least 2 fish on our trip. However, none were keeper sized. He really worked hard to make sure we got the most out of our fishing trip. read more

Captain Steve was awesome! We hired him for a private fishing tour and were not disappointed. If we weren't catching fish he moved us to another spot so we didn't waste time fishing when there were no fish to be had. Having a knowledgable captain to show you the way is worth every penny instead of sitting on a boat full of knuckle heads that you're competing with for the same fish. Captain Steve knows his spots, the last one we hit I caught 8 fish in a row! Only recommendation is book the charter for the AM, fish tend to feed more then and there is less boat traffic so you have more options in places to fish. read more

My husband is coming off a broken leg and would not be able to help our 5 and 7 year old boys as he would like but captain James came thru big time. We have gone out with Captain Steve S. and with Chris. Steve is great with kids and novice fishermen. He is very laid back, has a great personality , is very patient with people new to fishing and goes out of his way to make sure everyone is having a good time. He is happy to bait your hook , even after losing the bait several times in a row. The mood on the boat was very relaxed and fun. We started in the Mangroves and after having no success, he moved us after 20 mins. He made sure he moved us to areas where there were plenty of fish to catch. He brought all our catch on board to show it to us and give us a chance for photos. Chris is serious about fishing. .He may be a good choice for the "fishing pro" who is not looking for fun as much as a quiet day of focused fishing. . We had kids on our trip and we are all pretty green when it comes to fishing, so in our case it wasn't a good match. The mood was very quiet and we all quickly learned not to let the cooler door drop! Chris will release your catch before it is even on the boat ( if he thinks its too small, or not eatable), so if you want any chance of a photo you better move quickly or specifically ask to bring it on board. Both Chris and Steve cleaned our catch when we returned to the dock. The boat does not have a restroom, so plan ahead ( although they will bring you back to shore if you request). Went out today with Capt Shaun for some back water fishing. We had a blast. He knew right where to go and what to do. I was amazed at how he knew what fish was what as soon as it hit. We caught a lot of fish, but kept just enough to eat. We tossed the rest back. So glad we used his service. Don't think you could do better. He is the best.
