Not very scenic, the water is murky, and the beach they send you too (Kawaydin) is garbage. $675 for a full day of rental of a pontoon and after $10 a gallon refill of fuel... don't waste your time. Super disappointed. Same adventure that was epic in Marathon (Key) last year was about $450 all in. We were so bored we came in 3 hrs early. read more

The best value to explore the waterways and private beaches is renting your own boat at dolphin Cove Marina. Tristan offered great help getting us started providing maps and suggestions. Open bow run-about was easy to pilot and the 150 hp had plenty of gitty-up. There's a couple of no-wake zone but otherwise wide open cruising got us across the water in a flash. Awesome beaches to dock the boat on the bay and then a short walk to a secluded portion of the gulf. We saw incredible houses and even dolphins swimming in the bay. Next time we're in Marco, we're planning on several days of rentals from Dolphin Cove. They do it right! read more

My family rented a 10 seat pontoon for a fun excursion while visiting the area. Boat rental prices are great here and it was easy to book. The boat was nice and clean and in great shape. Overall, the boating experience was positive. If you're a first time boater , ask ALOT of questions. The gentleman that explained how to operate the boat and navigate didn't explain nearly enough for me to safely operate as a first time driver. The trip ended with me struggling to pull up to the dock, a man on the dock screaming at me, jumping on and yelling at me to "Get out of here" while steering us up to the dock. read more

When I come to Marco I rent form Dolphin. Why? My friends recommended it! Also, the crew is helpful and the prices are reasonable. They also allow their boats on the Gulf side which judging from other reviews of other places is not the case. I also had a case of super rare ;) marital miscommunication where both my wife and I paid for the same standup paddle boards but on different days. The owner is RUDE AF. When I called, his answers were short and curt. When I returned the jetski and boat, he was an A hole, but I will get to that. I called to reserve a Jet ski for the next day. I asked if the jet skis were new and was told yes. Spoiler alert: Not knew. There was a huge gash in the jet ski we took out. When we arrived, the lady who helped us was actually nice. The young employee was also nice and when he found out my spouse is law enforcement, he began asking her a lot of questions related to an "incident". LOL. He told us not to take the ski onto the gulf side. I hated the ski, I don't have a "need for speed" and it felt like I was riding a horse, I was gripping my wife so hard. Anyway, I suggested to her that we return it and rent a boat instead. They only had 1 boat left, a center console boat. It was kind of dirty, and looked old but we took it anyway. The windshield on the boat was filthy and damaged from the sun. You could NOT see out of the windshield at all. My wife was having to drive the boat with her neck craned to see out. We decided to go shelling on the first island s. of caxambas pass. Whoops, we made a mistake. We were ready to drop anchor and the engine turned off. Before we knew it, we were pushed onto the beach. Long story short, we spent 2 hours with 10 other people trying to get the boat turned around and back into the water. We managed to get it turned around, but the people trying to help didn't have a rope long enough to pull us back. I ended up calling the company and the owner SCREAMED at me. He was yelling at me, basically calling me stupid. I was almost in tears. He sent the young guy( and his dad) out. It took them 1 minute to get it back into the water. He pulled the boat so far back in and all our stuff was on it. We were still on shore. Thankfully, we had our friends there( I called them to help us) to bring us back to the rental boat. We get back to the place and the owner takes the boat to refill with gas. I was like " How much is this going to cost". The workers tell me I need to wait for the owner to come back. He comes back and makes me sit there while he figures out the price. He tells me the tow is 100.00. I was like " really", it took him 1 minute to pull us out. He said they used 45.00 worth of gas. I call Bullshit. We only used 14.69 worth of gas and that was the only place we went. I asked the owner and he said " well, were you idling" and I said No, and neither were they, they pulled us out in 1 minute". He said he gave us 20 percent off the boat rental and 10 percent off the ski. Oh goody. Thanks for nothing. There is a lot to be said for compassion and customer service, 2 things that this owner lacks big time. Will NEVER rent there again. read more

Great experience! The weather during our trip to Marco was not great, so we needed something to do that wasn't the beach. After doing some Googling we found Dolphin Cove and drove over. Since things were quiet we were able to pick whatever boat we wanted. The sign up experience was simple and so easy. Before we knew it we were on our own speed boat and out on the water! The staff were so nice and crazy efficient! The boats are in pretty good condition and crazy affordable. We had such a good time that we ended up going to days in a row! The only thing worse than 2020 is this place. Zero stars. Everything from the coolers to the boats pictured online are stock photos and not at all representative of what you will actually get. To make matters worse the owner and staff are unapologetically rude. I can't believe this place is still in business. We had endless problems with the Tritoon we rented. It was in terrible shape (see photos), the engine would not trim down, and the fuel gauge did not work leaving us stranded in the water when it showed we still had half a tank of fuel. (We are experiences boaters. This was not operator error). We returned the inoperable boat early and I had to get my credit card company involved to get a reasonable refund from the company. The next day we saw the same boat out at the beach (it was unmistakable due to its condition) and I warned the renters about the fuel gauge. We later saw the boat stuck with the engine unable to trim down. They are knowingly renting inoperable boats to unsuspecting visitors. Don't be fooled. read more

I Visited my Aunt and Uncle in Naples and they surprised me and my kids by renting a boat with a captain for 2 hours! Our Captain was Graham(hope I am spelling correctly). Do yourself a favor and ask for him! He was so nice, down to earth and so knowledgeable about the area. We went to Keywaddin Island which was pretty neat. We did a three hour tour of Marco Island with The Professor (Ryan), it was incredible and we had a blast. The Professor was friendly, knowledgeable, personable and informative. Our private charter was very flexible and we could be as spontaneous. We saw the islands, the resorts from the water, hidden gems, luxury homes and the intercoastal waterways. This was my first time renting a boat on the west coast of Florida, so I decided to go with Dolphin Cove and it's 5-Star Yelp review. This was not my first time renting a boat in Florida, so needless to say I was underwhelmed when I saw the selection of boats we were able to choose from. It was a slow day for rentals, but the fleet of 21-23 foot boats looked tired. Mine was a 23' walk-about with plenty of room, electronics, and power (when it was working). However, it just looked old and beaten down compared to every boat I had rented in the past. The boat was pretty clean and ran fine most of the trip. I overlooked the cosmetic issues and took off for the day, having a great time. We stopped at a restaurant right around the corner from the marina and then a beach that was on the map they provided us. The biggest problem came when the boat randomly shut off towards the end of the day and would not restart. I cannot imagine if this happened to someone who was not a mechanically inclined boater. Luckily, the company sent someone to us (right around the corner) within 15-20 minutes of owing power. A new battery was installed, but that only lasted for a short time before the boat stalled again. Fortunately, we were able to get it restarted and then decided return to the dock early. I guess the boat ended up running like it looked... The staff was friendly and told me they think they had gotten some bad gas in the boat recently. Wish they had given us a boat without that issue. The explanation was Little consolation to my experience. They did not offer a discount or credit for our inconvenience, which would have been appreciated. As a business owner, I don't feel I should have had to ask, so i didn't. Based on that and the condition of the boats I probably wouldn't bother to rent here again when there seem to be many other choices. read more
