I am glad I did because my experience with them went well and smooth, both in service staff and vehicle condition.Moreover Jose Pedro and Cristian at the service counter went well beyond my expectations due to the fact that I had to leave one of my suitcases at the airport because the POORLY TRAINED, LOWLIFE, IGNORANT, supervisor from VOLARIS IVAN MANRIQUEZ did not let me check in my baggage. These two gentlemen which they had nothing to do with my situation offered to store it while someone picks it up or even ship it to my house. After this wonderful and unique experience AVIS has gained my business from now on. Jose Pedro and Cristian really understand the meaning of CUSTOMER SERVICE. Once again, thank you, thank you. Very excellent experience!…read more We traveled from May 9 to May 12, 2022 with a family of 15, including a 1-year-old, 7-year-old, two 10-year-olds, a 12-year-old, and the rest were adults. I was able to contact Luis from Guanajuato Turismo Tours a few months before our vacation by WhatsAPP. Luis was very informative and we decided to reserve three days of private tours. Luis was available every time I contacted him he responded within minutes. We reserved the following private tours with Luis ahead of time with a small deposit of $25 through PayPal: Day 1: Guanajuato City Tour Evening: Callejoneada Tour Day 2: Privately created tour to Tres Raices Vinyeard and San Miguel de Allende Day 3: Tour de la Independencia We arrived at our hotel in Guanajuato and Luis and his co-worker Fernando greeted us at our hotel at about 8:30 AM. We had over 15 large luggage's in total and they assisted us with taking our luggage up the hill and at the lobby of our hotel. They were very patient and waiting for us to check into out hotel and wait until we all secured and changed to start our first tour of the Guanajuato City Tour. Luis and Fernando made sure we arrived at the pick-up location down the hill from our hotel. Luis and Fernando coordinated our private van transportation to accommodate our large group. They introduced us to our tour guide, Huicho and Saul our driver for the next three days. I cannot say enough about Huicho. This guide was probably the best and most knowledgeable person for ALL of our tours. Saul was a great driver and safely drove us to all of our tours with no problems and made sure our belongings in the van were kept secure. We highly recommend you request Huicho and Saul if you decide to take any tours. They were always professional and arrived in a timely manner, even though we were the ones running behind lol. We were very impressed how Luis and Fernando both ensured every morning that they greeted us at the lobby of our hotel to make sure we boarded our private van with Huicho and Saul. They communicated with me via WhatsApp and in person frequently and asked if we had any concerns. They also made sure we were satisfied at the end of each tour. Luis, Fernando, and Huicho engaged and entertained all parties in our group, which was much appreciated. Although, ALL of the tours we participated in were awesome. I have to say the best tour for me was the visit to the Tres Raices Vineyard and Winery. We were lucky to get an available spot for our large group on Mexico's celebration on Mother's Day for a Vineyard tour and wine pairing. We paid about $75 per adult and I have to say that was the best tour and wine pairing ever. If you like wine it is a must! They even entertained our children with stone-fired pizza's. Overall, we were very pleased with our tours with the staff of Guanajuato Tourismo Tours. I have to say it seemed like it was difficult to find a tour company online for some reason and I was graciously able to find them after multiple searches on the Internet. I was also not sure if it was safe pre-booking, but we found out that it was totally worth it and would do it again. I wish they had a Yelp account or Trip Advisor, but I will create a Yelp account for them. I think the thing we would change is instead of three days in Guanajuato we would have enjoyed another two or more additional days to truly explore what Guanajuato has to offer. Such a beautiful city and the people are great! I would suggest dining at the smaller mom & pop venues verses the bigger restaurants for more of an authentic experience. My grandparents are originally from Guanajuato, Mexico (Leon, GTO) but have lived in the United States for decades and it's been years since many of us have returned. We were fortunate enough to return with a new generation of kids; however, we came back as tourists. If you have social media and follow any travel IG accounts, you'll come to find that Guanajuato has been a hot spot for many travelers due to the many vibrant photo opportunities courtesy of the picturesque landscapes and charming details of the city and surrounding cities. Guanajuato Turismo Tours went above and beyond in enhancing our experience. They were not only patient with a large group, but they were professional, timely and courteous. We had 3-day tours and each day they would ask us for our opinions to get an overall feel on how satisfied we were. The two guys, Luis and Fernando, met us every morning at our hotel just to greet and walk us to the van that was to take us on our designated tour that day. We would then meet our amazing crew - Huicho/Wicho (spelling?) who was the narrator/tour guide and Saul who was the driver. We are a bilingual group with the exception of the kids who are more fluent in English, but they, too, enjoyed the radio-esque voice Wicho had (all in Spanish), not to mention his eloquence and articulateness. His knowledge of the cities we visited was astounding and his timeliness along with delivery was great. He was also able to answer many of the questions we had. Saul was a terrific driver - I usually get carsick and I felt fine the entire time. One of the best and unforgettable experiences we've had. As I mentioned above, we had 3-day tours and are listed below: 1) Guanajuato City Tours includes: Momias (mummy museum), Museo Ex-Hacienda del Cochero, San Ramon Bocamina, Castle, etc. 2) Tres Raices Vineyard (WOW - hands down best wine tasting experience and admittedly, we do A LOT of wine tasting), San Miguel de Allende 3) Dolores Hidalgo, Jose Alfredo Jimenez Museum and Tomb, Mezcal tasting, etc. I highly recommend if you are into learning, adventure and are open-minded. Everything that we needed or asked for was brought to us. We did not get a chance to try the restaurant inside but everyone that ate there looked like they were happy with their meal. The aesthetic of the hotel is just beautiful. The inside and outside is just amazing. It's just a couple of blocks away from the plaza and everyone around there is friendly and it makes you feel welcome. They do offer transportation to anywhere you would like, but we did not use it because we had our own. I definitely recommend this hotel to everyone. You will be perfectly safe just waving one down and the prices are predictable - 50 pesos for a short ride in Centro, 60 for a medium ride to nearby barrios, 70 for long trips. The drivers will wear masks, so should you and simply open your window in the usually fine weather. Nice drivers, makes getting around easy and reliable.
