Poor service from an arrogant young man on arrival. I had specifically requested a car that was apparently unavailable on the day, we had a very different car with a different transmission! Also thr representative was trying to flog for me things I had already paid for upon booking. He was unaware I had already paid in full until I had prove it. But by far the worst is regarding the alloy. I admittedly accidentally scratched one alloy, it is barely visible I kid you not, unless you put your finger over it you wouldn't know. I paid €300 on the day for the alloy repair. (In the UK we pay at most £200 for an alloy repair. Today I have been chased for a bill of €1500 on top! Totalling €1800 in total. Absolutely crazy? Also when we collected the car there was already a scratch on a separate alloy we were not told about. Luckily we found it upon collection and reported it. What would have happened if we missed it? I assume they would now be chasing me for €2600. Nice scam Sixt have going ripping people off to buff out a scratch. read more

Sixt claimed damage to the rental on return (leaky front tire) that was not apparent on drop off (we were notified months later). We disputed this to no avail and were charged almost 700 EUR in damages that the insurance we bought (through Sixt) did not cover. Customer Support was rude and unhelpful while we were trying to get a resolution. read more

Be Aware of their Malpractice of charging "your" Credit card extra 500 Euro Deposit and keeping it, after their return inspection at the airport found no current damage. "500 Euro deposit" for some imagined damage taken " for Fake scuff of bumper" that you may have made to their car..... Some Few months later.... calling them in USA, no one cares to call "you" back. Not Only they did not return my $500 Ero, deposit back to my card, but they sent me an additional bogus bill request 648 Euro, to be sent to some foreign account as a cash money transfer... read more

Overcharged by over 200$ including charged for gas even though we made sure to have a full tank of gas due to previous reviews stating they would charge for gas. We also took a picture of the full gas tank before dropping off the vehicle, and we were still charged for gas. Other extra fees included double charging the VAT tax. This company obviously has gotten away with some shady practices which I am sure are not legal. DO NOT RENT HERE. read more

Terrible experience; wait for them to call you back after you return the call to scam you with more money like oh your bumper is crashed, oh you did the did that; they're rubbers, liers! you usually reserve one car and they're always out of it and offer the other car; they said If you want that car that you selected, you need to pay much more! Bottom line, they can ruin your vacation completely, before you start your vacation, and even one year after your vacation; I'm still paying them even a year after my vacation to Italy, for no reason. I rented a car from SIXT rental car in Milan, Italy. I've gotten billed for damages that I didn't make for $571.41. I was also overcharged at the counter when I took the car with the clerk being nasty and uncooperative. When you book a car, do yourself a favor and choose a different company regardless of the price. read more

Sixt rental counter at the Milan Malpensa airport refused to honor our original rental agreement, charging a number of additional fees for taxes and services that were included in the reservation. The woman at the counter was rude and dismissive. When we called to complain we were told that we would be credited -- and then the entire amount was billed again to our card. Very stressful and frustrating experience that is taking months of calls to resolve. read more

This is the worst car rental company I have ever experienced. I rented a new Audi that on day 3 of 5 locked me out of the car (this was not Sixt fault.) However, the customer service experience to fix the situation took 5 hours of negotiation over multiple visits to the store and phone conversations. They suggest I break a window...and be liable for the damage. read more

I've used sixt many times in the past and always been satisfied so I was surprised when I booked a car at Sixt through carrentals.com for 8:30 am on Nov 1 in MPX airport Milan and ended up paying nearly 3 times what I booked for. My flight from Miami was delayed and I arrived at the Sixt office at 10 am. I waited nearly an hour in line and was informed that my booking had been cancelled as a no show and that my only option was a 516 Euro BMW X3. This is especially odd since I had booked for Sixt roulette, which should have meant that, if the compact car I booked (and preferred!) was unavailable I should just have gotten whatever was available for the same price ($188). I really don't have very good experience with rental cars in Italy. Two time I rented cars two times i got metro police in Italy wrote me ticket. And the traffic fine is ridiculous" driving into a restricted zone " come on. If you ever zoned such places. Why the hell there were roads. Avoid renting cars in Italy. read more

Australia, Africa, America, etc. but I have never met the same situation. 3.04.19 at 14:00 I booked the car lfa Romeo Giulietta or similar in Sixt company in Milan airport through OneTwoTrip and paid all sum for it. Then I quickly translate the voucher for the car. Booking number is №12339828. Booking 9876996267 0851cc44c Pick up: 4 May 2019 . 11:00 Milan--Airport Terminal 1, Terminal 1 - Arrival Hall, Ferno Varese, 21010 +39-0294757979 To pick up the car you need to have: - credit car for Nikita Tataev MasterCard, Visa Amex - passport or ID -local or international driving license (if needed) - this voucher There was nowhere to enter a flight number during the booking. Usually when you book the car and paid all sum it means that the car is mine and waiting for me, and if I'm late, the company call me and ask me about canceling. Anyway, I arrived to Milan 4 May at 13:00, my flight was delayed. I believe that I booked the car, paid all sum and everything is ok! But when I came to Sixt, to this cool reception with two hostess girls who even can't answer official site of the company, the first madam took my driver license, passport, check everything!!!! (Attention) and said me that my order was cancelled, because I'm late. And she just propose me the car for 30 euros per day more. But I don't want to pay more. It's at least not fair! It looks like a fraud, doesn't it? And she said me that she can't check the system when somebody will return the same category of car. Ok, I went to another girl and she said that now she can check the system and the car will be after some hours but for 30 euros per day more)))) I opened Skyscanner, onetwotrip and find, that Sixt can book for me the same car at that moment. Ask about it the girl and at that moment the third main girl, Christina, appeared. She said that it's just roller or controller and they can't confirm this booking. Then I found the car on their web site, Sixt.it., the same category of car!!! and even book it at 15:00 ( voucher in attach) but the madame said that she can give me the car only after three hours. I went to the parking and found a lot of cars the same category. Showed to the madam but she said me that these cars out of stock)))))) anyway, after three hours of waiting third madam Christina or Kristina said us that She can't give us the car because I haven't worldwide driver license. I have Russian driver license and American!!!! It's my first time when somebody asked me about it because In my local driver license I have everything in English. And American driver license is like ID everywhere! And in the voucher does not say that I must have international driver license. And the first girl saw my Russian driver license and checked it and say nothing about it during all 4 hours! And didn't even mention about international driver license!!! Anyway, during all three hours I'm hearing how good is the customer service in this company with cool big and separate reception despite of all another car rental companies. To somebody they tried to put extra insurance, to somebody extra car for more money without mention it and to somebody said that they haven't car the same category and they have to wait about one hour or pay more money. When customers noticed that the amount in the check was more than when booking, the girls apologized 100 times. It's just fraud and way to earn more money. In the end, I took the car in another company for two minutes without any problems! Sixt, give me my money back! I really ask you to translate my voucher in your language, check and correct your mistakes and stop deceiving people and working this way!!! The way is: -put extra insurance -said that the car is not available at that moment and client have to wait or take the car from more expensive category -you are late and your order cancelled and the money will not return, but you can take the car from more expensive category))) -one hundred another way to push clients to pay more money. Sixt, If you work with the roller like onetwotrip, Expedia, Skyscanner ets, you must control all steps during booking to warn people about your dishonest fraudulent rules.
