I'm leaving an updated review: SIXT sent me evidence of me "smoking in the car". The only issue is the evidence of the images they sent me are not even the car was driving. i'm just gonna go to the headquarters in Fort Lauderdale today and give them all of my evidence. This is ridiculous. Not only did they send me false photos of a vehicle that I was never driving. They also added on an extra seven days to my rental return. I was driving this car from July 2 through July 12. They charge me all the way up until July 19. Once again, I do not smoke marijuana or any nicotine substances I am a medical professional and I do not smoke. I wish charged a bogus false smoking fee. First and Last Using Sixt Rental. This is, by far, the worst car rental experience I've ever had. The staff was very unprofessional. No organization. When I walked in, there was no clear indication of which desk was for returns nor pick up. Customers were spread out everywhere. The manner in which the staff answered my questions was appalling. She mumbled her answer, and when I asked for clarification, the girl got upset. I was being processed in one desk and then had to go pay at another desk. Then, when it was time to pick up the car, no one went with me to show me where the car was parked. I had to search for it by clicking the clicker. read more

These people are bait-and-switch fraudsters that don't honor their own policies. Without even contacting us they rented the car we reserved. I'm out two lyft rides, a appointment cancellation fee, the cost of a rental from Budget (recommend), and two hours of our time, which is not cheap, we are lawyers. You will be hearing from us. I will also be disputing the lyft rides on my credit card and contacting your headquarters tomorrow. False advertising is a serious issue with serious consequences. I gave Sixt 1 star only because you have to in order to write a review. The car we rented from them has been a nightmare. It's July in Florida & the AC wasn't working properly then the car started overheating. We called to get roadside assistance & were put on hold. We finally just pared it for 5 hours & then drove it back to the hotel. I got up this morning & spent an hour on the phone with Sixt to have the car towed and another dropped off to us. 2 hours & 40 minutes later I'm still waiting for the tow truck & car to arrive. That he didn't have any Mercedes available so he was going to put me in a Toyota Corolla and he listed a few other cheap low end cars. I asked him then does my rate go lower since I already paid for a luxury class vehicle and he said no because I booked it last minute and that if I wasn't happy to go rent a car somewhere else... how rude and unprofessional no wonder this place has nothing but 1 star reviews. Booked a rental car through Lyft, and they sent me to this Sixt location. The booking was for one day, compact car, $62. Got there. Not a very lively place- in a quiet residential neighborhood, and I think I only saw one other customer. Nevertheless, the sales associate informed me that the last compact car had *just* been rented out, but he'd check with his manager to see what they could do. At this point, I got a sense that things might not turn out well. So, he returned and told me that they only had SUVs available now, and he would have to rent me one of those instead. I asked him if there was a price difference. Well, yes, in fact there was: the new price was $110. Left and cancelled the reservation via Lyft's app. Had a nice long ride back to my neighborhood, where I rented a car from a different agency. I've rented many cars in the past- all over the US- and when agencies have rented out all their vehicles of the smaller size I booked, they have always given me the larger car they still had available *without any upcharge*. This is standard. Go to Avis, Hertz, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, any of the regular guys whose names you've known your whole life- you'll pay the amount you agreed to, regardless of what they have available when you arrive, and you won't be surprised with a sudden $50 upcharge on a one-day rental. They may push you to buy their insurance while you're checking out, but the original price always holds good. This is not true with Sixt. I would guess that Sixt makes a habit of tacking on some extra because they think you'll pay it rather than go to the trouble of cancelling and finding a new rental car somewhere else. This location is in a somewhat remote part of Miami, so they know you're also looking at an Uber or Lyft ride to get to a different rental agency. Interestingly, their lot was very full of cars, with pretty much every spot taken, and they were nearly all SUVs or sporty convertibles; I have to wonder where they park their missing fleet of regular or compact-sized sedans- you know, the cheap rentals that get people to come through the door in the first place- when they're not all rented out at the same time. I can only imagine that they often do get people to pay their upcharges, when they're already at the location and in a hurry or unfamiliar with the area. However, given you are reading this, you at least can learn from my experience and forego putting yourself in that position in the first place. Don't rent cars from Sixt. It's probably best to avoid the newer agencies altogether- if you look at Miami or Fort Lauderdale airport rentals, you can easily tell which ones they are, because they have astonishingly low prices compared with the regular agencies. I have never taken a chance on one of these agencies before and wouldn't have if they hadn't affiliated themselves with Lyft. Lesson learned, will not do it again. read more

They block a profile for a complaint I placed because multiple employees were unable to do their jobs correctly and properly, even the Manager was less than helpful, but they can accept your money and reservations, to then deny service. They take the money immediately, yet to return it always takes longer. It's ridiculous, Block the profile before the payment!!!!! The vehicle size needed was not there Though given a different one it was too high and i was handed the keys without being shown anything inside When told what vehicle i was being given i mentioned i'd never driven one and i was overshelmed by the gadgets inside and where they were located . I don't know who is to blame Expedia (which is equally as terrible) or this car rental business for not refunding my money. After a fight was cancelled due to weather conditions and rebooked for a new city, I was forced to make a new reservation with the SAME car rental place and they refused to give me a refund or a credit. Even though I had a reservation at a different airport, they told me I could call and cancel my reservation for free and get a full refund. But that was not the case, so I had to pay twice for the same car. Won't be recommending this business to anyone or using their service again. read more

The service was excellent. Arrived at the location at 9:15 (for a 9:30 reservation) and was on the road by 9:32. Luis was very helpful and quick. Everything was explained thoroughly including the deposit. Ended up extending the rental an extra day easily on the phone. Hi, My partner and I have been loyal customers of yours for some time and today I felt humiliated. Each month my partner and I rent 2 vehicles which we pick up from the North Miami branch regularly. Today my partner and I arrived at the North Miami branch with two vehicles, One in my name which we came to return after the contract ended today. And one about the company, in the name of my partner . After we made the return, we asked to exchange the vehicle with the active agreement. Since the rental agreement allows us to exchange a vehicle, we approached the branch manager named Chad, he immediately shrugged it off and directed us to the local sales representative (a young man with tattoos On he's face and a beard), when we asked the young gentleman to exchange the vehicle, he then indicated that there would be an additional charge for the exchange of an additional $41 per a day. I mentioned to him that I was paying for this service and that I had already received it before at the same branch. And his response was: "What do you do for living ? Why do you think you deserve something for free? Do you think you deserve it all? There are no free things here.' For 3 minutes the guy stands in front of me and makes me feel terrible. And all of that was for me just tryin to exchange vehicle, I apologize, but with all due respect, that's not how humans are treated in the first place! Beyond the fact that he is a service person who should solve problems and not create them. He didn't stop insulting me in front of everyone! What does it matter what I do? If I said no that I'm an editor then he would speak to me with the most respect? This man just made me get out of there beaten by a blunderbuss.. I was surprised at how a person I don't know just attacked me for no good reason. I must point out that last month my Air Pods headphones were stolen from the car at the same branch after I had it cleaned after renewing the agreement while I was waiting at the branch. ABSOLUTELY A NIGHTMARE!!! Do not rent at this location! You will regret it!!! Terrible and disgusting customer service from the employees and the manager recently hired is worse then them. I had problem with the rental as soon as I pulled out, I could never reach anyone at the branch. No transparency in pricing. I turned the car and the employee waited to close my rental charging me and extra day. I completed a walk around to the return vehicle and 3 days later I receive and email of a fraudulent damage claim. I attempt to explain to the incompetent manager to please review cameras and to see that the walk around was done with me present and the damages are fraudulent as the car was parked on drop off day in front of the branch, right in front of the camera. Jade, the young woman that "assisted" me was absolutely unprofessional. I called on my way and asked about renting a car, she told me that there were none available. That was hard to believe, so I checked online and was actually able to make a reservation. Upon arriving, she told me that the car I booked wasn't available, and if I wanted another car it would be "much more expensive". I told her I didn't mind and she proceed to ask me skeptically and rudely if I had ID and a major credit card. When I asked her why I was able to book the car online, she cut me off and spoke over me with attitude. I have had much better rental experiences in remote areas of the world. Sixt is by and far, the worst rental car company I have ever had the displeasure of using. Their customer service is so bad, it's hard to comprehend. After prepaying online for a vehicle for a certain time, was called the morning of the pick up from an unknown number to tell me that there would be a delay of an hour. That hour turned into 2 hours then 3 hours. Nothing but poor excuses from the people at this location. Finally told, another car was on it's way and should be delivered within minutes. When minutes turn into hours, and the driver of that vehicle "Dangie" or "Dangle" or "Diandgy" fails to arrive and is called, he is disrespectful, loud and rude. This guy should be FIRED from this company as there is NO REASON to treat any customer this way. In fact, all of the performance of the staff at this location should be called into question. If not some written disciplinary action then definitely some re-training and development is greatly needed. After many hours waiting, finally cancelled and walked away to get a rental from another provider. As a note, * There is no management on site, nor is there a way to reach any manager at any location. * You CANNOT reach a "live" person or manager to speak with at their corporate office or by using their website or 1-800 number. * You CANNOT simply cancel your reservation online or via phone. Hello, the worst company don't rent anything from this unprofessional company. I want to share with you that I had a reservation for a minivan for today octubre 25 2019 and this morning a person from this office called my husband and told him that they were really sorry but that they couldn't rent us the car anymore because the ones that were returned were damaged. That's not my problem you guys need to manage to get a Minivan. They offered a smaller vehicle but we needed a car that would fit 6 people since we had this trip planed for more than 6 months. This was our first time using Sixt and believe me is going to be the last one, not to mention that I wouldn't recommend you to anyone and will tell them how disappointed we are from your mediocre service by not even offering to help us get a car in another company and letting us stranded with all the work of calling all this other places to try to rent a vehicle in the next 2 hours that would accommodate the 6 of us. There is a additional $200 deposit that I didn't know about or was mentioned to me. Have your extra funds ready to cover this cost. Deposit is set to be returned in 3-5 business days.
