There is so much to do at the Children's Museum that there is never a dull moment. Honestly hours of fun and entertainment. Everything is kept in good working order and there is something for everyone. A great place to let the kid's imagination go crazy! Lots of places to climb and run around to get all the energy out. My son slept so good after his visit. There were a LOT of people, and it is usually pretty busy. If you get a family pass it is a great deal, especially if you are going to go often (honestly there is so much to do you could go every week and do something new)! It is a bit on the pricy side, but the value is definitely worth it. Only gave it 4 stars due to the cost, but again, worth it in my opinion, but still on the expensive side.

I went and parked, started walking up only to see the employee locking the door. After inquiring, she said that she was volunteering for an event and she had to close the museum early today. There was no notice on the door when we were looking at the operating hours. When the employee drove off to her function....again there was no note left on the door apologizing for the inconvenience of not being open normal hours. I understand this is a small town, but it's not very business like to arbitrarily close up, leaving the patrons high and dry. Sad

The docent that greeted us was friendly and informative, telling us that the museum was at one time six separate one-room residences that were dismantled and rebuilt to make this current museum. Full of many early and late century household items, placard's describing the way of life on the island, and has loads of interesting artifacts, photographs, and materials showing Orcas Island early community and civilization.
