My family and I had absolutely wonderful Saturday evening at Blue Fox Drive In Theater to see Lilo & Stitch and The Karate Kid. The staff were all so very courteous, and welcoming. Be sure to order the fries; they are fantastic! The prices are unbelievable and accommodating for everyone. I do recommend being mindful of the time you arrive holidays, a certain movie premieres creates high volume of visitors. Also bring blankets, chairs, cushions, tents, and whatever else makes you as comfortable as possible to enjoy the movie outside the temperature drops but the movie is much more enjoyable bundled up together outside under the clear sky and stars. This was the perfect way to introduce the theater experience to children who's ages are 5, 3, & 1 as they had the opportunity to play at the arcade, ride go karts, and play in the open field area not being restricted to a theater room. On our way home my husband and I planned our next visit; I highly recommend adding Blue Fox Drive-In Theater to your things to do!

4 years after our first visit, we went back with our 2 kids and dog, and it's still as amazing as the first time we visited in 2021

Update: 4 years after we visited for the first time, this place is still as amazing as our first visit. This time we brought our 2 children under 4yrs old and they had a blast! We love this place!!

I absolutely love this place, its great in the summer, and amazing in the winter! We got year round! Tonight we enjoyed the christmas village, highly recommend! We love how dog friendly they are!!! But, as a lactose intolerant vegetarian, I am begging them to put a veggie burger on the menu! I can't keep getting the pizza, I barely made it home!

The pictures do not do the screen justice, I could see the screen perfectly like it was a big screen TV,

The entire atmosphere of this drive-in movie theater is excellent positive. It's a really good feeling. It's a really nice place to be. The service is great everyone's happy and it's very inexpensive. If you get a chance to go to this drive-in go you will have a very good time a very positive experience. Good food is an arcade. There's many things to do there. Plus you can watch a movie. This is an excellent place to go. One thing I forgot to tell you good people, I drove to the drive-in in a 38,000 pound class a big rig with a double bit of sleeper with a 27 foot box on the back and a 5000 pound liftgate, Of course, I was pretty much empty, But what drive-in can you go to, Or you can take a motorhome, an RV trailer or a big rig? This is the place and at the time I went here you were able to spend the night, Let me remind you how cheap the price was for this much enjoyment on top of spending the night and leaving the next morning, You can buy a pizza here that is so heavy when you're carrying in it back that you need two hands to carry it and very very cheap and the pizza was very delicious! These people that run this drive-in are very, very nice, Most of them look like high school kids, But without the attitude and the weirdness, they were just happy go lucky and very, very nice, And all the people watching the movie were very, very nice!

    Best $6.50 ever spent!

Having lived on the island for nearly a year, we finally made it to Blue Fox for our first time last night. I can't emphasize enough what a fun time we had! From the outside, this business combination looks strange and random: an arcade, go karts, a drive-in, a collection of Christmas village sheds currently used as storage, and a concession stand that sells such items as the typical soda and popcorn but also fair-style curly fries, Philly cheese steaks, and even entire pizzas. From the inside, it is a carefully selected array of activities to ensure families are having fun and growing closer while they wait for it to grow dark enough for the movie to begin. Spoke with a buddy who's been coming here for years and his tip was to spend $3 to rent a portable speaker so you don't drain your car battery while listening to audio. The speaker was plenty loud and we had no trouble starting the car at the end of both movies like some people did. Can't wait to come back!!

What a great experience. Drive in movie theaters are the best growing up and I'm happy there's one here. Watch one or two movies in a night at the convenience of sitting in your car.

For some it might be a walk down memory lane to see a movie on a drive in screen. I never had one nearby so it was a chance to not only see history but to experience it. Please don't let that throw you off because this place was a lot of fun! It has the movies on the big screen while also having a full ticket arcade, go karts and an modern, over 21 cinema inspired tavern! We started off in the tavern for a drink and snack. The options are typical, mozzarella sticks, fried pickles, etc. After talking to the bartender she let us order from the main stand menu and we learned that they make a few things home made and on site. Which had me ordering the Philly Cheesesteak. Great flavor for a WA made cheesesteak but the bread was a little dry. The important part though was that is much better than what you'd get from a typical theater even though it isn't a Tony Luke's cheesesteak! We had fun and definitely plan a trip back when it's warmer!

Gotta stock up on movie snacks!

How have I never taken part in a drive-in movie theater? Took the family to Blue Fox in Oak Habor on a Saturday night for a double feature, "Abominable" and "Joker". Where else can a family of 4 go see two new release movies for only $15?!? Ticket pricing is so affordable: 11yrs+ at $5.50 cash or $6 for credit card; kids 5-10yrs old was only $1(cash) or $1.50 (credit) and kids under 5 was FREE!! It was nice to have the kids watch the first showing and then for the second showing they slept in the back while hubby and I got to watch "Joker." Our first time so we were told to go early for a good spot. To be honest, pretty much any spot is a good spot. We brought the pickup truck so we parked a few row back. If anything get there early so you can get your food before the line goes long and you end up in line instead of watching the movie. That would be the only draw back is that the line to the food got long pretty much during the whole movie time. Wish there was a quick or express lane for those who just want to order drinks or pickup some candy instead of having one line for all food and drink order. Over all the facility was clean and the staff kept the food line moving. Bathroom was clean. Some tips for if its your first time: #1: Rent the $2 radio so your car battery doesn't get drained and you lose your sound during the movie. Its SO worth the $2 especially if you are doing the double feature. Thank goodness they had cable jumpers since our truck had to get jumped twice. Apparently that happens a lot. #2: Parents, I know there's no food or drink policy, but I am sure they would allow you to bring pack water bottles or container. The ones they offer at the concession stand is the size of a shot glass. Unless you want to shed out $2 for a small size water bottle or for a $4 large size water bottle. Popcorn always makes my kids thirsty and I end up missing most of the movie waiting in the food line to get them water. #3: Bring blankets/or sleeping bag, pillows, etc for when the sun sets and the cold air comes in. Great family night watching on a big screen underneath the stars. Love seeing the big dipper and all the other constellations in the sky. Support your local drive-in theater!!

The back ends lifted inhibiting the view of the movie screen.

What time should we get there for a Sunday night show?

Depending on what you want to do. If you want to get snacks, drinks, or need a radio, get there 30-60 mins before showtime. If you want to do a round of go karts or the arcade, allow for ample time there as well. You can roll up right at showtime…

The spaces closest to the screen are for smaller vehicles and midway back, it is for SUVs and minivans. Since I have a SUV, we were in the middle lanes. It was fine as we were able to see the screen. One thing I recommend is that you go watch movies that aren't dark (as in brightness) as Batman was hard to watch since we were further away and everything looked black. This was my error as I should have remembered that Batman movies are usually taking place at night. LOL The movie starts at twilight so there is still some light out. If John Wick played first, and Batman after when it's fully dark, then it may have been better. We would definitely come back but for movies that don't take place at night

YUM! And the prices are reasonable. No gouging here. The concessions are friendly and homey. You can get a cup of ice and they don't charge you for the cup! The usual candy selection, plus some exotic candies and sometimes even baked goodies. The entire lobby walls are covered in vintage movie posters. Ticket prices are ridiculously low! Most movies are only $12 for adults. If you're a member (membership begins at $100/year,) you can get $2 off the ticket price, plus earn points for other freebies and discounts. The whole theater is styled like the vintage theaters from the golden age of cinema. Velvet seats. Even hand-printed chalkboard marquees over the theater entrances. Old fashioned settees in the room off the lobby, and a vintage box office window. One of the theaters features hand-painted murals on the walls. One has been totally redecorated with sofa seating and little tea tables. Personal touch: Most movies begin with a personal description of the film to be shown, narrated by one of the theater's friendly staff. They might also include trivia or other items of interest about the director or the making of the film. There are no annoying commercials. Just a slideshow while you're waiting, of advertisements from local businesses. Then just a few previews and your movie starts. The sound quality is great and the theaters are small, so you always get a good seat. The theater is owned and run by local Port Townsend residents, who are often there, and will always try to make time for a question or a chat or even just a quick hello between rushing off to check the projector or close the heavy red velvet drapes before the film starts or fill a bag of popcorn. They run a selection of the latest box office hits, classic films, and even ballets and operas. This is especially special since we are so far away from being able to visit such amazing venues as the Met in person. If you're ever in Port Townsend, you MUST make time for a movie visit at the Rose. Going to the Rose Theatre is more than going to the movies, it's a total immersive experience! http://rosetheatre.com One comment about other Yelp reviews: There are new owners who have done a lot to improve the movie-goer experience over the past couple of years. Please ignore negative reviews from a few years ago. Some are petty and others just don't apply anymore. Thanks.
