Jon the manager seemed to know the ins and outs of different kinds of cut bait and he learned me a fishin tellin to em thang or 2 bout some dang cut bait. It blew my mind. Then i got in a tube and floated all the way down to berry's campground and it was frickin awesome but then I started to panic! I realized that I had left my vehicle all the way at the Bypass Sales store. There's no dang way i can walk all the way back up there with a tube. I was defeated....i was lost....i felt hopeless. So i sat on the beaches of Berry's Campground hopeless with only the skip jack head I had just purchased from the store thawing at my waiste. It began to smell ripe and it cheered me up a great deal. I knew the kind of fish i could catch with this kinda bait let me tell ya....as all hope was lost i then looked upon the driveway that people drive into to get to the campground. A white van started to approach me and upon this van there was a sign. "SHUTTLE SERVICE BERRY'S CAMPGROUND" with its dark tinted windows my heart began to sink. The van pulls up right beside me and the door slowly opens. What happens next is awesome!!!! A man steps out. He looks like he is a dressed for summer and is having himself a damn good time with a smile on his face and the most fly sandals i've ever seen in my life and his shorts the neon green was something of the gods. The man spoke to me, it was like heaven to my ears a choir of long forgotten gods. "Hey brother name's Mark do ya need a lift?" At first I couldn't believe what I was hearing. This couldn't be true. I couldn't speak, but somehow it's like Mark understood my problem. "It's ok buddy just hop on in we'll get ya to your car." I just walked on my own I didn't instruct myself to do it it's as if his calming demeanor made my legs move on their own. I knew that i would be safe. I then watched him in admiration loading up my tube and life jacket. He meant bussiness. Then in a instant before i inhaled my 3rd breath to a full exhale I was already standing by my car right down back at the Bypass and as I looked up the road I could only see traces of the white van up the road in the distance. Jon the manager then approached me outside. He asked me if I had fun. Fun? I said to him. I feel like I was a part of an episode of Touched by an Angel. Jon understand stood and he smiled. They have kayaked, tubes and inflatable boats available for rental. Pick up and delivery service as well. Very knowledgeable owners and family. Know the area well. They also own Berry's Campgrounds. Ice is cheap and the beer is in the cooler.

I used to frequent Flat Top Arms when I…read morefirst moved to this area but over time crew tired of the "good old boy" attitude there and being treated like a stranger or straight up ignored all the time even though I had purchased numerous firearms and plenty of ammo through them. Shooter's Roost and Eric on the other hand are always friendly, say hello, will chit chat if they have the time, and know what they are talking about when it comes to firearms. Something quite lacking with many of the staff at Flat Top. So Now Shooter's is my go-to LGS. Prices are always good and they won't gouge you like another place I know.

Some really beautiful guns, Kimbers, etc. They seem cheaper on guns than most any other place I've seen. I went to Flat Top Arms the same day and price compared and Flat Top was $100-400 higher on all their guns. However, like most places, Shooter's Roost was WAY high on ammo. They didn't have much of certain types in stock, like .380. Had lots of other kinds though, so just depends on shipments I guess. But way high -- $20/box for 20 rounds whereas I can get similar types of the same ammo for $11/box of 50 rounds at Cabela's in Charleston. Worth the drive to Charleston for sure to get your ammo. The staff here is great; very friendly, easygoing and knowledgeable.

This store had very friendly owners, was clean and there were a lot of things to look at, I was in there about an hour. (The bathroom was locked) Sadly, aprox. 3/4's of the store was crafts, new items, reproductions and yard sale items. Only a quarter of the store housed actual antiques and they were mostly behind locked glass. There were a few things I was interested in, but they were "not for sale", just for show. I didn't purchase anything.

But their selection of firearms is outstanding, especially since they are a pawn shop. New and used rifles, handguns, crossbows, compound bows and everything else anyone would need for hunting or personal protection. One of a handful of places I can literally spend hours in. As for the "prices" they pay for gold or the price tags on their guns.....get serious. I've sold gold and bought. NOBODY pays spot.

I only request they include AR15s in their inventory. Although they have a selection of AK47s, I prefer the AR15s, because the AR15s are much easier and faster to reload. So unless the AK47s have vastly improved in that area, that shortcoming alone leads or leans to an AR15. Please consider stocking up on them, or restocking them. Thank you.

I happened to find out about this newly opened store. I gave them a call and came to find out they not only carried comics, but could also help me with my burgeoning Magic the Gathering addiction. I had to park a few blocks away from this location, not because of where it was located but because there was a full on street festival happening in downtown Beckley. The store itself is on a quaint road in downtown, and has a large windowed storefront. This store is so new, they still had their temporary signage up out front. I walked in and quickly saw a large "Commander" MtG game being played and was immediately welcomed by a dog licking at my ankles. I then noticed a few cats lounging around and perched throughout the store. If I lived in Beckley, I'm sure this would quickly become a favorite hang out. They host various card and table top game nights throughout the week, and also have deals for those who buy several comics. In addition, they had a set of MtG cards I had not seen before, as well as a few rares I had to scoop up while I was there. One of the workers also advised me they are in the process of online cataloging all of their cards, so users can quickly browse their inventory before heading over to the store. I watched the Commander game for about an hour and ended up walking away with a new deck and several other cards, as well as a comic. The employees were all extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and very welcoming. I need to find a similar store close to home.
