Supposedly they only tuneup bike "brands" they sell or should I say it depends on the customers background. very weird! A neighbour recommended the place, I guess she fits the store brands Even though I called to confirm ahead of time , was asked to come in. Once I got there, they only tuneupe store brands. As another customer review mentioned. there is a hint of bias from the older owner, not from the younger staff. I completely wasted my time. It took Sweetpetes 20 minutes now to adjust the derailleur and brakes. Very simple. I will absolulety not recommend the downtown store. specially if you are a visible minority. read more

Terrible customer service - won't shop here again I am very disappointed with Skiis and Bikes customer service. Beware when ordering from them online as they may not help you if you have a problem unless you pay extra. I ordered Sugoi gloves for Christmas but the two gloves aren't the same size. Both tags say XS but it's 100% obvious that they are not the same size. Very poor quality control from Sugoi, but my complaint is about Skiis and Bikes. They were originally only going to open a warranty claim and wait for Sugoi to decide what to do. 3 emails and 25+ minutes on the phone arguing with them and they finally agree to send me new gloves but I have to pay to return the defective ones. They refuse to send me a return label nor give me a store credit for the cost of my shipping so it means that my gloves will cost $14 more than what I was expecting to pay. I am being penalized for something that is not my fault. This could be easily corrected by Skiis and Bikes to keep a happy customer but they refuse. This is the last time I will shop with them and there is no way I will recommend them to anyone. Such a bad experience. read more

I've never actually been in this store but I am really impressed with their service. My husband and I were looking to purchase icers for winter hiking. We'd been to Sail and MEC and although MEC offered Kahtoola's, they weren't available in our size. This led us to do a little research online and we found a Canadian company (Hillsound) that made a comparable product. We call the company directly and they suggested we order them through Skiis & Biikes. My husband called to have them ordered and we had them within two days. Terrible customer service. I purchased a very expensive bike and they attached the lock improperly and it damaged the bike and the staff took zero responsibility, not even a sorry. The purchase included 1 free tune up, I phoned in advance and they said it could be done on the spot but upon arrival they changed their minds to 5 business days. Our go to place for skI equipment and apparel, but I'm so disappointed today. Ordered ski jacket and pants for my child, spent over 200.00 bucks, and the pants are far too small. Did you know sale items 30% off aren't refundable?? How can they expect people to order online, when the store isn't open? Shame, guess I'm going to have to find somewhere else to shop! read more

I brought my snowboard for a full tune up, which I heard they have excellent high tech equipment to do it. I lost a screw in my bindings which I wanted them to fix as well. I returned to the store a week later to pick it up and that was when things went downhill. They didn't have the proper screw to replace it with, they said that they were supposed to go another ski store nearby to pick it up but never got to it and suggested that I go there myself. I examined at my board and it didn't look like a $50 tuneup, let alone waxed, so I returned back to their service counter and asked whether any work was done to my board. They said nothing was done and the person who wrote up the service slip forgot to write down a tuneup and wax. I was really frustrated as I waited a week for nothing and made two treks from downtown to do it. They apologized for not doing the work, but other than that didn't make any attempt keep me as a happy customer. I definitely will not come back! I eventially took my board to Hogtown Extreme Sports which the work was done in 1 hour and I didn't have to leave downtown to do it. read more

Bought a new Ebike today. Excellent service in fact best ever! We drove in from Innsifil twice today. Once to c and test drive and again to come back with my truck to pickup. The staff were amazing. Told me to take the bike for a 2nd ride. Asked my husband if he wanted to try it out. They made sure that it fit me and that I knew how all features worked before they sent me out on a test ride. They tuned the bike, added all my accessories before we picked it up and went over everything again. read more

Snowboarding is both sport and fashion. Who knew? I was on the hunt for snow bunny gear at their continuing post-Christmas sale and found a store that is equivalent to candy heaven. The super friendly staff really knew their stuff - they're not on commission here, so their approachability (in fact, in all cases, each sales staff approached me first!) was a pleasant surprise. They have an incredible selection of technical gear that my fashion forward friends would approve of. Beyond simply retail, they also tune skis and boards. As their name suggests, they're also experts in bikes, but since I wasn't on the look out for that area, I didn't pay too much attention. I'm reviewing the "& Biikes" portion as that is my only experience here. Really don't believe the 1/5, 2/5 ratings on here, I call bullshit. The staff know and care about bikes. They are really passionate. There may be some people who are less helpful than others but I didn't notice it as a major issue. They consistently take the time to educate you on all your options without trying to upsell you or confuse you. I've been in 5-6 times, bought 1 bike, thinking about another, would highly recommend this place. The service guys are equally great. I've had nothing but great service and suggestions from them. Yes, I've had to bring the bike back once or twice to readdress an issue but that's life (and bikes), for the most part they nail it. And if they don't they own up and fix it ASAP. Great place, highly recommend giving them a shot. read more

After being disappointed by an untruthful sporting store at Yonge street I was extremely pleased with skis & Bikes. I bought skiing equipment for our family and all of their staff knows their products extremely well. At no point I got the feeling being taken advantage of but I got the impression these people really care about their customers even on a very busy Saturday. Incompetently run. I took it in for a tuneup and to replace the pedals and cycle computer. I wasn't looking for anything special, so they grabbed a $30 pair of pedals for me. I go back to get my bike and discover they're only charging me for the tuneup. When I go to correct them, I discover they've put 100$ pedals on (that any other place would charge $50 for). Then I get home and the next day, my rear tire is flat: they damaged the valve and it leaks. Mistakes happen, but three on one visit is incompetence, not an accident. read more

Skiis & Biikes is a parent company to a storefront on eBay, skitrader-com. I purchased a snowboard from the eBay store which was listed and sold as in 'NEW' condition. Once received, the board had damaged/defective binding attachments and is unusable. With the board manufacturer stating a one year warranty against defects, the initial response was that they are an authorized dealer and would contact me. Two of Skiis and Biikes physical stores are authorized. An email from the manufacturer informed me that skitrader-com is NOT. The next response to me was that they unsuccessfully attempted to initiate the warranty process, although I had not yet informed them of the issue. Even though Paypal lists Skiis and Biikes as the actual company that received my payment, in their final response to me, Skiis and Biikes as 'skitrader-com' refused to stand behind the product they sold stating that their policy, not published, is to not warranty eBay customers. I would suggest that if someone decides to purchase from this retailer, do not trust the Skiies and Biikes site's statement "Returns are Hassle Free". A purchase should likely take place in person whereas you are at least a bit more assured of receiving a quality item. read more

Impeccable service. I couldn't ask for service better than this. One of the managers, Chris, took a couple hours out of his time, despite it being Christmas Eve to help me find the perfect ski boot. There are a lot of bike stores in this city. I've visited 4-5 of them. In my experience Skiis and Biikes is the best for both sales and service. I'm happy enough I bothered to write this review. I've been going to this shop for over a year now. I'm breaking this into 2 sections: Service and Sales. Service: I don't know how to fix bikes; that's why I'm a customer. I should learn more I know but...life. I have two old (ancient?) bikes that I've been keeping on life support for a few years. The service staff (Andrew, Chris, Robbie/Reggie?, a few others) have, without exception, been great to deal with. Has everything been perfect? No. There have been one or two hiccups where something was missed (or a part failed) but each time they've consistently addressed the issue in a fair and professional manner. They know bikes. They let me know when something might/does need to be replaced. They keep me informed. They don't treat me like a total noob. They explain what it is they are doing and why. They show me what they are doing If I'm interested (Andrew in particular). If I have to drop in after the service to address something they don't hesitate to help. All with a positive and encouraging attitude. Sales: Great selection of bikes in the store; Trek, Specialized, Devinci, Rocky Mountain. And a good range of price points, from entry level to okay to you-must-be-kidding-it's-just-a-bike!!! I talked to a few of the sales guys when I was shopping recently. They asked questions. They listened. They provided solid advice and information. No one tried to up-sell me. I was in no rush and I visited 4-5 times in total. They were great to deal with. If someone didn't know the answer to my question, or if another sales person was the better person to talk to, they reached out to them. I ended up buying a bike from Chris. It was, aside from spending a fair bit of my hard-earned money, a painless experience. He was easy to deal with and I was happy when I finally decided on what I was buying. Oh, and Greg the manager has also been a positive and professional person to deal with, so from the top down I've been impressed. 4.5 out of 5 stars. Things haven't been perfect but they're pretty damn great. read more

I too received the same lacklustre service approach with my son's new skis. They just have no idea. Very badly organized and very poor customer service not just in the tuning dept. too many young kids working the floor too that just seem disinterested and very short on knowledge. Went to get a tune ($40 basic tune). It was my first professional tune so I stayed back to see what they do to the bike. Saw a larger gentleman with glasses take my bike to their tuning stand. He rotated the peddles for 1 min and then pumped my tires with air. He proceeded to take my bike and placed it with the already tuned bikes to wait for pick up. No tuning really occurred. All in all it was a 2 min "tune". I will not be coming back to this store. read more

It is very much appreciated when greeted with a smile and good customer relations. I picked up my bike 2 days later and got the same friendly and helpful attitude from another employee.
