I had my first ever visit at Stones River Dermatology office in Murfreesboro on 11/20/24. A small…read moregrowth on my chest was found and shaved off that day and sent out to lab for biopsy. On Monday, 11/25, I started calling the office and leaving voice messages requesting my results. My calls were never returned until 12/9. Unfortunatel, I was told I had a squamous cell cancer that needed to be removed. My appointment for excision was scheduled and performed on 12/16. I was also given an appointment for removal of stitches for 1/6/25. They would also let me know on the 6th how my margins looked so I would know if they got it all. Stitches were removed on 1/6. Unfortunately, they had not yet received results from lab. (Three weeks after surgery.) Again, I started calling the office on 1/9 to find out my results. Again, I had to leave voicemails at the office on multiple days - with no return call. Finally ... I received a call back from Danielle on 1/16. She called the Pathology lab herself and found out that my margins were clear. Thank goodness. My "far from glowing" review is due to lack of communication from this office. Multiple unanswered voice messages are unacceptable. Especially when I'm requesting results regarding skin cancer. It was mentioned to me that my calls were not returned expeditiously due to everything happening during the holidays. I might accept that excuse if I was just checking on my Vitamin D levels.

I said I didn't want to be frozen, heavy, and I talk for a living. Long story short, she injected entirely too much! My forehead is glossy, frozen, and unnatural...exactly what I said I did NOT want and this lip flip has caused so many issues it's embarrassing and unreal. They clearly put $$ first, patients last. It's malpractice at it's finest.

The place was easy to find, and inside a hospital which makes it even more reassuring!! Courtney Parker Allen did my injections and she was so sweet!! She explained everything thoroughly, shared her personal experiences about the injections I was getting and told me what she was doing every step of the way. She made me feel comfortable cause she had also had some injections done so she knows exactly what it feels like which is a great sign! He was very honest and explained in great lengths how important each persons expectations are postoperatively and what to expect. His staff was very informative, and I felt truth and integrity behind his recommendations. I encourage each person to ask questions , explain what your looking for , but to have realistic goals with reasonable expectations. Make sure you find a Dr. that is willing to listen take the time to explain everything, and that will help you meet your expectations. Here's the bottom line for anyone who is a new or soon-to-be patient: If you're mostly interested in light cosmetic solutions for your skin, this is probably a great place for you. But if you're just a middle-aged guy trying to get a mole checked out, this didn't appear to be the place you want. While they are certainly dermatologists and not plastic surgeons, and while they do offer biopsies and lab tests, you really have to sift through the array of cosmetic solutions the physician wants to offer first. I felt that I had to expressly vocalize that I wasn't interested in any light cosmetic procedures before we got to the ultimate purpose of my visit. I suspect, with the complexities of health insurance reimbursements, that cosmetic solutions is a far more profitable business model than old-school dermatology practices. And I totally understand that; they're trying to run a business and put food on the table like anyone else. But this practice has really leaned into the cosmetic side of things, as evidenced by "Kattine Aesthetics" right next door to the clinic, which looked like it offered a wide selection of ointments, lotions, balms, and so on--even clothes! So, if you want to come in and have a few skin tags zapped off and then buy a skin-tightening elixir on your way out, this is definitely your place. If you're only interested in boring, preventative full-body skin check, this might not be the one for you. I certainly didn't feel that way when I left.
