We made an appointment for my daughter to have her navel piercing done. It was part of her 16th birthday present. She was VERY picky about where she wanted to go, and Skincraft was her pick after much online vetting and reading. I made an appointment online 5 days prior, and made a $25 payment deposit toward the appointment. We live over 45mins away from Skincraft. On the way to the appointment, we ran into significant delays due to a motorcyclist that had been killed. After detours, etc. we arrived at the appointment 15 mins late. They would not see us. I understand keeping business moving, but after all the challenges we faced, it would have been nice if they would have worked with us and got us taken care of. I'm sure they could have made up the time throughout the rest of the evening. Needless to say, due to unfortunate circumstances, we were out $25 and not provided a service. They did offer to reschedule, but making the trip that far will not be repeated. We will stay closer to home. Make sure you're rigidly on time here, or they'll swallow your deposit and send you packing. I'm not keen on establishments that don't offer some flexibility. read more

I emailed Jess after checking out her work on Skincraft's website and told her what I wanted. Though she's busy and booked up a couple months, she responded quickly and got me scheduled. Through the pandemic, we had to reschedule a couple of times but she was always able to accommodate me. Finally, on tattoo day, I arrived (late even, but she was cool about it) and she showed me her design of my vision. WOW! Not exactly what I had in mind...even BETTER! I wanted a ram (me, Aries) and a bull (my daughter, Taurus) 'locking horns'....and I saw it as sort of an adversarial tattoo. Jess's creation was much better for a mother/daughter duo, and I fell in love with it straight away. The entire process took 4 hours, and I was in AWE of the detail she incorporated. I couldn't have asked for it to turn out any better. Plus, Jess is fun to chat with and I had a great time trading stories with her for those hours. Came here for my second tattoo. Came in on a Friday evening 40 minutes before close to ask about how much it would be and stuff like that. Josh was able to see me right away with no appointment and we were out 8:50. I like this place because it's clean. All needles are single use and they show you how clean it is before hand. Josh was my tattoo artist this time around and I would highly recommend him. He came up with the design and executed it perfectly. His work was fast and precise. Not a single mistake. I had Savannah for my septum piercing yesterday and I could not have asked for a better experience. The shop is very clean and huge on sanitization and being sterile (which is the #1 most important thing, if you ever go to a piercing or tattoo shop and they're not, run!). She talked me through everything, answered all my questions, validated my fears, joked with me, and reassured me. Savannah was very quick when it finally came time to the actual piercing and I was so thankful for that. From the time the needle went in, the jewelry was already in and in a matter of seconds the ball was on and I was good to go! If you're going here for any piercing, I think no matter the piercer you'll be in good hands. Prices are extremely reasonable for the quality service you get - yes you may have to pay a deposit, but that's added to your overall total as long as you show up on time to your appointment. My first time here being pierced after being pierced probably all over Cincinnati. I came here specifically for good reviews on genital piercings; I was looking to get a VCH. I told them I had a Christina before but took it out within weeks because it did almost nothing for sensation. The girl over the phone said that the VCH was feminine empowering, gorgeous, and did worlds for stimulation. Already, i was sold. Skincraft was about a 30 minute drive from my home in Fairfield but this was no issue to me as body modifications are an investment. I arrived and they were super strict about masks unless you were in the back. I loved this. The lobby was decorative and grungy, this was my kind of place. I had asked for Dawn but she was unavailable and so, not done before by me, I went with a male employee, James. Not that Im uncomfortable or anything, he was courteous, professional, and clearly wasn't trying to get fresh with me so this of course was not a problem either. I was very nervous and he made small talk. Earlier i picked out changes for my double nose piercings so he helped me with that as well before doing my VCH to ease my mind. James told me the sizes of my piercings (done either by myself or a friend) were wrong and i sized up my nose from a 22 to an 18... which is healing perfectly now. When we got to my VCH I admitted I was scared and may chicken out. James reassured that he wasnt doing anything yet, just sizing, measuring and marking. He walked me through the WHOLE process and even though I was indubitably scared and loud (sorry to the men who were getting their tattoos !) when the needle went through my clitoral hood, I was correct as when i put my skirt down, the pain was no more! All in all, Im excited about my body mods. The VCH is healing well with little blood or pain, the swelling has gone down and I have to say, TMI, but it looks gorgeous down there! There was a small child in there scared about getting their earring put back in after it had closed up and the staff were so sweet and took the time to make the kid feel comfortable and calm. The establishment is very clean and a good size with private rooms which is always a nice touch. The jewelry selection was great with a really nice amount of 14 & 18K gold at reasonable prices. They were also willing to order pieces for me if I saw some online from their vendors for future piercings. This is the place to go to get your piercings done. They are very clean thorough. Both James and Dawn have done my kid's ears, they are so kind and explain exactly what they are doing and why. They take time to make sure the holes are even and parallel. James is great at joking with the kids making them feel at ease. Dawn is just so kind and calm. I recently decided to get two piercings here for my tragus, helix and insertion of my daith piercings on the same ear. My piercing experiences were overall great. I have had multiple piercings done at this shop performed by Dawn the co-owner and James, one of the artists at the shop in the past. They do a wonderful job and I always look forward to getting a piercing or ordering jewelry here. The shop is currently following restrictions and Covid regulations. Presently that means no use of cellphones in store and no drinks like water etc in store. When I went inside the store everyone was garbed in face masks. My only complaint is that I was given price of the jewelry that the piercer would use after piercing was conducted. There was a last minute change in jewelry due to a nickel allergy. I was overall satisfied with placement of jewelry. read more

Skincraft seems to be a business that only cares about money and not about treating their customers with understanding and compassion. First let me start by saying if you call they WILL NOT answer. I called several times for pricing and to inform them we were running late for our first appointment. Well when we got there it was clear that we had to reschedule which is when they informed us again of their non refundable deposit for any appointments so we rescheduled and paid ANOTHER $25 for an appointment the next day. Well here we are today. We arrive 7 minutes late because of traffic unfortunately, but they state they have a 10 minute grace period so we're not worried. Well today they say they have no other appointments and they have someone scheduled immediately afterwards and they couldn't honor their before stated 10 minutes grace period and said we would have to spend ANOTHER $25 to book another appointment on another day. So that would be almost $75 with no actual piercing at this point which is about the amount of the actual piercing itself. So at this point we politely said no and we'd look for other businesses that honor their policies and had more concern about customer service and their customer's experience. And we own that we were late and their deposits were stated as non refundable. We are more upset that they aren't honoring their policy that they told us about and weren't allowing us to communicate that an accident had happened when we called both days to communicate our lateness and to have some kind of guidance before continuing the 45 minute trek across down from Amelia to come see them because we heard they were the best. I came here to get my earlobes pieced. I called and made an appointment on the phone and they were able to get me in the next day. When I came in the girl at the front desk asked me why i was there and I told her. She had me fill out some paperwork and as i was about to sign it it said i was going to get my delph (spelling?) pierced. I told the girl that was incorrect and she almost wouldn't change it for me! I was like no definitely not and she got kind of irritated and changed it. After that she helped me pick out my earrings. The guy piecing my ears came by and introduced himself. He then grabbed the earrings and put them in the autoclave and brought me back to the room. I thought the guy who did my piercing was very nice and helpful. He explained the process and was very thorough with being clean by cleaning his hands and changing his gloves when needed. The piercing was quick and kind of painless. It did hurt a little bit but after the piercing was over then it felt completely normal. When we were done, we went to the front and I paid and left. They sent me home with some salt to clean my ears out and a pamphlet on how to clean them and what to do if anything happens. I was very impressed in the whole process and would recommend anyone getting their ears pierced to go to a tattoo shop. Its so much more clean and they know what they are doing. I so highly recommend Skincraft for piercings! I received my first (and only) non-earlobe piercing from Tony Pero. Skincraft is in the heart of the grungy neighborhood of Northside. Its appearance blends right into the grungy-ness, but everything about my piercing experience was clean and professional. Tony was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and calmed my nerves. He also pierces babies and children. I was also excited that Skincraft carried 16-gauge industrial bar jewelry (many studios just carry 14-gauge). Their price ($60 for an industrial) was also significantly less than many other studios, who charge $80.
