Asylum is the only place I'll go to get my tattoos. Both locations are clean, well kept, and everyone there is so friendly. I feel like a lot of tattoo places make you feel less superior or they judge you, I don't feel that way at all here! They are so reasonable on pricing unlike a lot of other places! Their artwork is amazing. Ben does amazing line work and makes sure the little details count. He's one of the best tattoo artists I know. He did a scar cover up for me, a lightning bolt, an open delta, and an outline of my dogs faces and I love every single one of them. James is also an amazing artist. He's done two cover ups for me on my wrists, 3 dots on my wrist, and a typewriter style quote on my forearm. He is so so so talented at what he does. He also creates an environment in his shop thats like nothing else. They are all family and everyone is genuinely happy to be there and work there. They listen to what you want, give you their opinions, and are always very caring. They get just as excited about your tattoos as you do. Just got two tattoos and industrial piercing done here. My piercing was done by Joe, he works the desk a lot and is very friendly. He was very accommodating with my piercing and professional. He was very sanitary and made sure to check the placement of my piercing with me first. He made sure to warn me when the needle was about to hit, and was very thorough with his aftercare instructions. Shad did my first tattoo, a small wrist wrap of rainbow colored feet. He drew the art up quickly and was very professional. He made sure I was happy with the placement and the size of the feet before hand and when he got down to business he worked efficiently and quickly, but didn't hurt me. His pricing was very reasonable and was far for the detail of my tattoo. He allowed me to see the colors that were going in, to make sure I liked them. Dustin did my second tattoo. Very sweet and down to earth, he responded to my email quickly and replied with a fantastic design I absolutely loved. When in the shop, he was VERY sanitary. He changes his gloves frequently and is ALWAYS using hand sanitizer. He changes paper towels often and is always willing to let you take a break for a cigarette or to use the restroom. He makes sure you're comfortable and does fantastic water color work. He tweaked the design with me so I could get it how I liked it and made sure the placement was just right. He works very quickly, and his prices are VERY reasonable. I'd definitely suggest Dustin if you want some more work done. This shop followers all the rules and uses Autoclaves to sanitize their tools, which is about as good as it gets. Their artists are talented and their prices reasonable. It's fun to be getting tattoo'd, listening to the artists joke back and forth. I even got to watch Joe and another artist do Yoga while Shad did my tattoo, very fun. All piercers and artists give very good aftercare instructions, and they offer a selection of jewelry, as well as soap for piercings and tattoos. I came here to get my nose pierced by Joe. He was incredibly professional and nice, and knows what he's doing. He took into account what I wanted and positioned the piercing accordingly, having me check the placement of the mark before piercing. He is very thorough in providing a sanitary, sterile environment, washing his hands before putting on gloves to show me the jewelry selection, and continually sanitizing his hands after removing gloves or touching anything. He talked me through the entire process, making sure I was okay with everything before taking the next step. He didn't put the needle in without confirming I was ready first, and let me know what to expect. I have anxiety and he made me feel completely comfortable the whole time. I highly recommend coming here for anyone who wants a piercing. Joe is amazing and the pricing is great! read more

Today, I finally decided to get my septum pierced, after wanting one for well over a year. I have a deviated septum which means that it's slightly crooked and I knew that it was going to require somebody that had skill. I have broken my nose two times in the past in just ridiculous situations that I won't mention and I went in for a consultation with Joey Caminiti today to see what he had to say about the possibilities. I have spent a lot of time at tattoo and piercing shops as my ex-husband was a tattooist. I was very impressed by the shop. It was super clean- even the bathroom is spotless. I wasn't wearing anything that showed that I happen to be heavily tattooed and probably looked like your basic soccer mom walking in the door. I was treated just like anyone else would be treated - everybody there was incredibly kind and Joey was fantastic. Unfortunately, despite surgeries before, my septum is just crooked enough that it threw him off by a millimeter or two. He wasn't happy with the placement and so we went ahead and took it out and made plans to try again in a week. In the meantime he insisted that I if I wanted some other sort of piercing that he would really like to do one for me for free for my trouble. I have never seen a piercer do that before and I thought it was incredibly good business and by doing that I ended up getting started on an ear project that I have had planned for years. Now he's going to have me coming back to him at least three more times for that. It was good business practices and he was honestly the coolest piercer I've dealt with and I've been dealing with piercers for over two decades all over the country from San Francisco to Miami. The tattoo work that I saw at the shop really exceeded my expectations! I will definitely be coming back there for much more work as I have a cover-up I need to do and I need to get started on my long awaited sleeve. I think I made a new friend and definitely found a new place that I am very comfortable going to as a female and without feeling a need to bring a friend for "moral support". It's just a kick ass joint! Go see Joey! He is a really well-versed, very smart and very talented piercer! I can't wait to get this septum taken care of! And I love that he's not worried about trying again. He's very confident in his abilities and I really find that comforting as I am the proverbial pin cushion in this situation. I'm sure he's going to nail it next time! I'll update you once it's done. Thanks, Asylum! UPDATE: I went back to Asylum 1 1/2 weeks later to try again to get my deviated septum pierced without looking crooked. Joey nailed it. He remembered exactly how to correct for my deviated septum based on last week. Now, I have a fantastic septum piercing and just like last time it didn't hurt at all and my eyes didn't even water! As stated before, he also did the piercing gratis because it didn't work out the first time. I will definitely be going back there! read more

I went here to get my nose piercing changed from a stud to a hoop because I couldn't get the thing out myself! The guy who helped me was so so nice and funny too. He made sure what he was doing didn't make me uncomfortable and kept asking if it hurt when he moved the piercing. He also wore gloves which is great and I thought I would note. A lot of people ask prices, so it was $15 to get a new piercing and have him insert it for me. Also there is a $3 charge to use credit card. It was super clean and I loved the atmosphere. I have no reason to go back but I'm thinking about getting another piercing just so I can! read more

I'm no stranger to piercings, I have 14, but the one I got at Asylum instantly got infected , I followed all of the care instructions to a T & it still became infected. My nose stud wasn't long enough and kept scratching the inside of my nose and the stud actually ended up inside my nose and had to be removed .. I now have permanent scarring on the outside and inside of my nose , all because of the length of a stud. read more

This is a great shop, open 7 days a week with later hours than most, and the artists are all very down to earth and very talented. They were able to work me in on a Saturday night, and Dustin, my artist, did a great job. Unlike some of the other shops in this area, which act as if customers are a bother and treat you like you should be gracious to even get work there, the guys at Asylum are courteous, professional, and CLEAN. Dustin changed gloves every time he took a break and bandaged me up. The prices are also very competitive, and they accept debit/credit cards. went here for a piercing. was in and out in a reasonable amount of time! I was a walk in, no appointment and they took me right back. while I filled out a form, the two tattoo artists who were sketching out front and were very friendly towards me and my friend. my piercer, Joe, did an AMAZING job. he was professional, but relaxed. I was a bit nervous cause it was my first time at this place, but he kept a light conversation going and made me feel really comfortable. he made sure the piercing was going to go in the place I wanted It and he let me know what he was doing before he did it. after I was done, he gave a very detailed description on the aftercare and healing process which was awesome of him to do.
