My relationship with Westside began in 2001 when my now 12 year-old-year began preschool there. It…read morehas continued with the addition of my now 4 and 2 year-old. There has never been a time when I felt any uneasiness about leaving. The staff is caring and compassionate; my children talk of them fondly and lovingly. The Directors are easy to get along with and have the best interest of the children there in mind. You can see how they strive everyday to make the daycare/preschool better in some way. I accredit the preschool to the academic success of my son. He's an intelligent young man and skilled in many areas the preschool first exposed him. I doubt he would have had those experiences if he hadn't attended there. My 4 year old is reading already and my 2 year was speaking in full sentences at 18 months. Both knew their ABC's, how to count to 20 and how to count to 10 in Spanish by 2 1/2. Both are well socialized and are receiving the guidance all children need to succeed. Their curriculum is thought out and well developed, as the above attests to. The most heart-warming factor for me is Ms. Sandy. She was my son's preschool teacher (really, she was the force that got him ready for kindergarten and beyond.) She is now my 4 year-old's preschool teacher and will soon be my 2 year old's. If someone can continue with an organization for that many years, they must be doing something right! I give them 5 out of 5! I feel fortunate I stumbled onto Westside for my children, where they receive an excellent education at a reasonable price. And while that price is reasonable, they do not cut corners. I don't know how they do it!

They have so many different ethnic groups within the center and to me that's special and something to be proud about. I come from a family a large family 11kids total (some are mixed, some are white and some are black) I will say when people pull the racist card and expect people to feel sorry for them without sharing the FULL truth on the circumstance that's not okay. The hours are very accomodating for the working parents. They have school and craft time everyday. They arent just another kid here they really do care. There was obvious racist remarks and bullying in the classroom yet did nothing about it. Not to mention we the students barely get to defend ourselves in certain situations, they'll either say it's a lie or just gaslight you into doing smth in that situation. Not much I could do when I used to be young, I wouldn't put your child in this school is all I have to say. Also they have no idea how to talk to children saying they have no future or won't make it in life.

As a parent, it's so hard to find the right person or center to care for our kids. I feel as if our family is extremely lucky to have found such a great center. The staff here isn't just staff; they are family. The owner, Dana, is so involved and heavy on good communication with parents. I have loved watching her pour her heart and soul into maintaining a safe and stimulating environment for the kids over the years. I must highlight the activities and events they organize because they are truly top-notch. Whether it's an outdoor adventure, a fun field trip, a creative craft session, or a themed celebration... The staff put a lot of thought and effort into creating memorable experiences for the children, and it's something we deeply appreciate. They put together monthly family fun nights at no cost to the families (such as going to a River Bandits game or renting out an entire movie theater!) to allow staff and families to connect at a higher level which I think is spectacular and I have never heard of any other centers doing this. I have had some troubles with my 4-year old's behavior, and they've always been quick to address any concerns or issues that arise, and they do so with empathy and understanding. There were a few weeks where I had to talk to his teachers every single day about it and we were able to work together and come up with specific solutions to help my son. After just a few weeks of both of us working with him the way we did, his behavior improved so much. Without the compassion they have, these issues we were having would have surly escalated. In essence, IACW is a second home for my babies. They've created irreplaceable bonds with their teachers and countless memories. There hasn't been a single day in over 3 years that my kids didn't want to go to IACW. I would highly recommend this daycare.
