I had a very disappointing experience with this salon during my brother's wedding, a day that should have been seamless and stress-free. Unfortunately, it was far from that. First, the makeup artist we started with (and were happy with) was inexplicably switched for someone else when it came time for the reception look, and no one informed us of this change. It was unprofessional and unsettling to have a completely different artist show up without notice. Sana informed me that this kind of change is normal, even though I had booked her for my event 9 months in advance. The hairstylist was another nightmare. She arrived late while we were getting ready for the reception and seemed irritated with us throughout. Worse, she couldn't create any looks unless we provided her with a picture, which was frustrating given that professionals in this field should be able to guide their clients or offer suggestions. Her attitude and lack of preparation added unnecessary stress to an already busy day. To top it all off, Sana, the owner, was completely unhelpful when I brought up these issues. Instead of taking accountability or offering a meaningful resolution, she brushed off my concerns, claiming she thought we were happy with the looks and that I should have brought it up on the wedding day. This is completely unreasonable, as I was obviously preoccupied with the wedding itself. I originally asked Sana to speak with me over the phone, but her only offer to "make it right" was to set up a phone call with the artists--why would I want to speak to people I never want to work with again? Sana arranged for a sari draper for our event, but the experience was disappointing. The draper rushed us to get ready, did a subpar job with the draping, and repeatedly mentioned that she needed to leave for another event. Despite paying $50 per draping plus $150 for travel, we felt hurried and received poor service. To make matters worse, Sana is now claiming that she did us a favor by providing this service. This experience was incredibly frustrating, and the lack of professionalism, communication, and accountability from both the team and the owner ruined what should have been a joyful and special occasion. I wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone looking for reliable and professional service for an important event. If you have already booked this salon, I would highly recommend that you try to cancel and find someone else. read more

I used this service for my somewhat recent wedding and wedding party. Although I thoroughly enjoyed my looks, I think the stress of working with this company was not worth it. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend this place for the following reasons: First, the contract was not finalized in a timely manner per SKS policy and there was a lack of price transparency.. There was a fee for the freelance makeup artists to "leave the property" between the wedding and reception. More was hard to get in contact with SKS and we were finalizing details that should have been addressed 3-4 months prior to the wedding just 2 weeks for the wedding. Second, Sana did my bridal makeup and "coordinated" a team of freelancers do makeup for the wedding party. The wedding time was early and this was clearly communicated. Sana was late for the bridal makeup start time and didn't clearly tell her make up artists where to go. One even showed up to my suite. This caused a significant delay in people getting ready and I missed taking "getting ready" photos with my mom before the wedding. This was upsetting because I will never have these photos. Instead of apologizing for the miscommunication which caused the delay, Sana got defensive and acted like coordinating the makeup artists was not her responsibility. Third, based on the feedback from my bridal party, the freelance artists were not cleaning brushes in between sessions. One person said that they missed putting foundation on her forehead and another said that they burned her hair extensively. Fourth, Sana posted a photo of my wedding dress the night before the wedding. Although she kindly took it down, I thought it was common sense/courtesy to refrain from doing this after the ceremony. Lastly, this experience really clouded my wedding experience. I didn't feel good about missing the photos with my mom; my wedding party was upset; and the overall vibes from this place were condescending and disrespectful. Most notably, after getting ready for my reception, Sana told me that I smelled "weird." At the time I was a little appalled. Perhaps there was a more tactful way to say this. After all was said and done and I expressed my displeasure with the services or lack thereof, she proceeded to block me on Instagram and continues to use my wedding to promote her business. I believe there could have been more professional and mature ways to go about this. Therefore, I would not recommend this company. read more

So accommodating to guest's needs and especially great with my mom, MIL, and SIL who required more thorough services. TLDR: I booked Sana from SKS Salon for my wedding, she told me she had a fever the night before my wedding and couldn't come but then I found out she had just double booked herself and lied and used COVID as an excuse. I got married 3 months ago, so not quite when COVID was at its peak craziness, but when vaccines were just starting to roll out to the general public. I had contacted Sana from SKS salon to see if she was available to do my hair and makeup for my April 3rd, 2021 wedding. We signed a contract last October that specified that it would be Sana herself who got me ready and I sent her a deposit. Leading up to the wedding, getting in touch with her was difficult, I could barely get her to give me a schedule for the morning of, and I was very frustrated, but I assumed she was busy with things ramping back up so let it go. I had also asked if she was able to get me and my mom ready for my Sangeet so I appreciated her ability to squeeze that in last minute. On the Thursday of my wedding she came to my home and got us ready but then also asked for the rest of the money for the wedding day paid then. I wasn't expecting it but didn't see an issue with it so I paid her the full amount she had asked for. The night before the wedding, I was doing some last minute dance prep when I saw a text from her at 8:30pm, less than 8 hours before she was supposed to be at my home, saying she had a fever and couldn't come. She said she arranged for someone else on her team to come but initially didn't give me a name or anything to go off of. I was freaking out SO MUCH and was starting to hyperventilate but because of Covid there wasn't much I could do. Of course I didn't want anyone else to get sick and was very glad that everyone who was at my home for the wedding was vaccinated but I still couldn't believe this was happening. Once I processed it all I called her, and although I was trying to be respectful since she sounded sick, I was trying to get more information about the arrangements she had made. She mentioned that she was going to get tested before doing anything else and would send me pictures of the other makeup artist's work. Once I saw the pictures I knew I wouldn't be comfortable with her doing my wedding hair and makeup and I started trying to find someone last minute. Luckily after a lot of stress and tears and a lot of luck I found someone else who ended up surpassing all of my dreams and expectations and made me truly look my absolute best. And since Sana's sister was still able to come, my wedding party's hair also looked great. Although everything ended up alright, I'm sure I got some new grey hairs in the process. Fast forward a month, I see on Instagram that an old college friend that happened to have the same wedding date as me posted a photo of herself from her wedding. She tagged her makeup artist, who was none other than Sana herself! I was yet again in shock and disbelief. I told myself there was no way that someone would do something like that so I reached out to the old friend in the hopes that there was some explanation, maybe her date had changed or something. NOPE! Sana was there and felt fine. So Sana wasn't sick at all but had apparently double booked herself with the assumption that one of us would change our date. Instead of telling one of us she waited until the last possible minute to lie and try and send someone else. In case you were wondering, I also reached out to Sana to see if there was an explanation or give her a chance to fess up, but her response didn't even line up with her story. I was beyond furious when I figured out the truth but have since calmed down a bit because I ended up having a wonderful wedding and I only want happy memories associated with it. But I still believe others who are looking for vendors deserve to know the story. read more

Sana and her team helped out for my sister's wedding week and their work is outstanding. They did hair/make-up for the bridesmaids and moms and are extremely efficient with their time. They were able to glam us all up and make us feel beautiful starting at 5 am. Not only this, but something I really appreciated is that her team is open to feedback. I had asked for some glitter eyeshadow and once the artist did it on my eyes, I ended up not liking it. When I told the artist this, she was not defensive at all and said that she understood and took it off and then redid my eyeshadow. We showed the artists our inspiration photos for hair/make-up and they executed extremely well. They also came back to do reception make-up for a few of us and were able to transform our tired faces to true glam! We even started calling it magic make-up...I would highly recommend this team. read more

I hired SKS Salon to do my bridal beauty and my immediate family's hair and makeup at all 4 of my wedding events, plus 12 of my bridesmaids' hair and makeup in a hectic wedding weekend and they were absolutely incredible!! They truly take the time to get to know your style. I have always been nervous about getting my hair and makeup done for my wedding day and they were able to execute a natural look that made me feel comfortable, but also looked amazing in pics! We used SKS salon for a wedding. The bride looked amazing but the rest of the clients looked not so good. The stylists were late to arrive at the venue even though they were paid an extra $100.00 of early morning fees and we're supposed to be ready to start. One was clocked 40 minutes late. The main stylist Sana was not transparent on the hidden fees in her business. Very unprofessional when it came to scheduling, prices, returning phone calls. If you can look past that her work is good. Her stylist not so much. They did not use clean equipment/brushes. One of our guest only had have of her face with foundation. Another had a giant dot on her forehead where the makeup artist forgot to blend it in. Another had her eyeliner completely not applied, and a few peoples hair was falling out within the hour. The stylist sat in the room given to them until it was time for reception makeup, had the wedding luncheon (which was totally acceptable) but couldn't throw away their dirty plates off the table. So when the clients came back the room smelled of food and half eaten plates were left on the table and not to mention, I was charged $100.00 per stylist to return to do more services but they never left. The charges for services were high and the end results were not up to par. The deposit of $1,500.00 was not properly returned because Sana had hidden fees and felt entitled to take it out of the deposit. I would definitely not use this company again. read more

Sana is super talented in what she does! I opted to not go for any trials and trusted her on the day of... and she did not disappoint! I expressed to her what kind of look I was aiming for & she executed to perfection for both the wedding & reception. I am so glad I went with SKS for my big day. I was extremely happy with the hair & makeup. I didn't want an overdose of makeup, but enough to cover up my rosacea issue. Her execution was bang on. Not only was I happy with my overall 2 looks, but my mom, my sister, my mother-in-law, my sister-in-law, & my 2 nieces were happy too with their hair and/or makeup. Also the hair & makeup lasted a long time! Thank you, Sana, for talking me through my 2 different looks and providing your suggestions on what would look best for me. The execution of the schedule created by Sana was also followed to near perfection. I had expressed to her what time I needed to be ready & what time the others had to be ready. And she ensured that they all were ready on time or even earlier than expected. The only one struggle I had was getting a hold of someone along the way leading up to the day of whenever I had questions. The only one recommendation I'd give is to have the schedule created at least a month in advance rather than a week before the event. It creates a bit of stress to not have a definite schedule created until the last minute. I'd definitely recommend SKS Salon for hair & makeup. They know what they're doing & they definitely won't disappoint. They will listen to how you envision your looks and then work on the execution of them. Sana did my hair for two out of my three day wedding( I did my hair myself the first day) and I must say, she is absolutely ahh-maxing. She is a true artist with hair. We had a makeup trial and she was incredibly talented, patient, and detail oriented, taking the time to really listen to me and my vision for my wedding day. She did a phenomenal job with my makeup on the wedding day, truly making me feel so special! My makeup stayed on the whole day as did the jewelry/dupatta which she helped set. My hair also stayed perfect the whole day and I did not have touch up or change anything after she left. We had a very bad experience with SKS for bridal makeup, during my sister's wedding last week. We hired them as we saw wonderful photos and reviews online. But the make-up artist they sent was inexperienced and did a very bad job. She herself said she was a freelance artist, which SKS did not specify beforehand. They must have hired her as their regulars were not available. But we were not notified of this. We asked several times for pre-consultations, but our requests were ignored. The make-up artist did not listen to feedback, and when we tried to give comments, she was very dismissive. She did not know how to work with our facial features, and just applied a one-size-fits-all type make-up on the 4 people she worked with. The bride's hair had no volume, and even though the bride expressed dissatisfaction several times, this person kept saying it was fine, not listening to feedback. SKS also did not send anyone to drape the lehengas, as was stated in the contract. When we asked the makeup artist whether she would do it, she said that they should have sent another person, and it was not her job. She didn't have the pins or any other equipment, and when we supplied whatever small pins we have she draped the dupatta in the worst way possible. It was a very bad experience during what was supposed to be such a special day. Now we are planning the photo shoots again as the hair and makeup that day was ruined. I was happy with Sana's customer service pre pandemic. I had booked her right before the pandemic hit and she was flexible and understanding with moving the date to this year. She was also very responsive to any inquiries I had. I asked for a contract to make sure I am booked for the date and do not need to worry about anything. I signed the contract and emailed it to her. I followed up to make sure she received the contract and she never responded. I sent her multiple emails to confirm that she received my contract and to make sure I was locked in for the date however, I got no response from her. I also emailed her to ask if I can get a trial run to make sure I determined the look for the wedding and she never responded. It is getting closer to the wedding date and I decided to move on and find someone else before it was too late. Once I found someone, I sent a cancellation email to Sks explaining why I wasn't happy with the service. Sana got back to me a couple of days later (coincidentally when I wanted to cancel) without an apology for not confirming the receipt of my contract or getting back to me about a simple inquiry. She explained that the date was booked for me already even without the contract but as a customer I wanted to receive confirmation for this after it was documented in writing. She also responded that my deposit was non-refundable. I was super disappointed that this was a poor customer service experience and will not receive my deposit back due to her lack of response. Her explanation for not getting back to me was that she was busy with other assignments. My email did not require a long response and only required a simple "we received the contract, you are good to go." I was excited to work with Sks but after this poor customer service experience, I was truly disappointed. read more
