If it's free, it's for me lol what a beautiful view of London. Make sure you secure your spot in advance online. Reserve early. The first slot is 10AM, which is the most ideal in my opinion. The staff is nice. The lines are quick. There is a quick scan upfront, so be prepared to have your bags checked. They have drinks and seating at the viewing area. This was my first time here and won't be my last.
Book one month in advance for a free city view of London. Nothing beats free, especially when traveling. We were very fortunate to have a clear, rain free trip in London. We could see Tower Bridge from the observatory. The building had natural light coming through the glass ceiling windows and plenty of seating to rest. We relaxed here for a few hours because there's no time limit.
I've never heard of this pace which I should have done some research beforehand. We were with friends from Manchester which one person mentioned it. Well clearly no one did their research which we found out. You would need to book a reservation which none of us had. The front security did mentioned that we probably could get in the no ticket line. So we had to speak to security at the entrance to see if any walk in was available. There was two line, to the right is where you go with tickets. To the left is walk in line which if you didn't know, it would just look like one line. We manage to get through in walk in but it was about a 10/15 minutes wait. There were a couple people in the same situation as we were without ticket and they were told to come into our line even through they were in the first line until to the front. We finally got let in, which they and had to go to another little check in area. Security and from there take the elevator up to the top floor. It was quite busy waiting for the lift as some people only went in with their group even though there were more room for people. Once on top, it's first come first serve in seating. There were plenty of tables and lounges to go around. The main area had the view section that is one part of the sky garden. It is what it is, a sky garden. You can go out to the lookout for the city. There's signs on the glass so you know where you're looking out too. It was amazing views but as it was starting to rain and getting cloudy, it did affect the view. Of course, it did rain and they ended up closing the door to the outside. Most of us never made out to see anything. There's also views along the side and the back of the garden but main outdoor view was closed due to rain. There's a chalet right in the middle where some food and drinks are served. They could have done it way better as there was only one guy working the register so it took a while. And 2 people along the side making the food and hot drinks. Food was simple? Nothing major. We got a couple toasties, pizza slices and a Caesar salad. Pizza was whatever but the toasties were good. At least they were made fresh. The salad, that was pretty bad. Premade bowl with eggs, bacon and chicken and croutons. But the lettuces were brown and wilted. Don't think it was fresh and sat for a while. They have the main restaurant on the top part which also has views of everything but they didn't open till 5pm for dinner. Stairs along the sides has the garden to one side and there's another seating area at the top of the garden. You get the view of all sides which is great. The whole concept is great but obviously it would have been better when the sun was out and not raining. But it's London, you never know what you'll get. Also you have to Que as well for the lift to get back down. At least there was security guiding that.
A must do if it's your first time in London. We made sure to set an alarm weeks in advance to notify us when to grab free tickets , since they sell out fast! Upon entrance, you'll go through a thorough security check point, before entering the elevator. The elevator will take you to the 35th floor, where you'll experience 360 degree views of London. Landmarks are identified, and there are many various floor levels to explore views. A bar area with refreshments and pastries, abundant seating, a restaurant, lavatories, and beautiful tropical landscaped plants all reside in the Sky Garden. There's a covered outdoor area as well to explore more for London views! There's no time limit on how long you stay. We probably spent about an hour to an hour and a half here. Plenty of photo opportunities!
Sky Garden is a free public garden with a 360 view of the city's spectacular skyline. The visit is free, but you must make reservations about 3 weeks in advanced in order to secure a spot, or be a guest at one of the restaurant or bars on the upper level. The downside of a free experience is that it can get really crowded. We were not aware of this experience until after the free tickets were all sold out, so my boyfriend actually made a reservation at Darwin Brasserie. Not recommended if you're a local. That will be its' separate review. Anyways back to the Sky Garden. Upon arrival you will go through a bag scanning and metal detector check point. From there, there are 2 elevators, or lifts, going up and down between the ground floor and the 35th floor. Between the 35th, 36th, and 37th floors are stairs. SAFETY ALERT. Plenty of inconsiderate people are busy posing on the stairs and act like a true hazard as you try to go up and down these stairs. Management and staff should really go something to ensure safety for every else. Maybe put up a boundary or photo area so that the rest of the stairs can be used as it was intended. We came on a rainy day so the outdoor area was restricted. Nevertheless the views of the city from behind the glass was nice. I'm sure it would have been an even better experience if it wasn't raining.
The views are amazing, even on an overcast day. The garden inside the building is beautiful and so well maintained. The tickets are free, but you do need to plan ahead and reserve times. Tickets are released 30 days in advance. You can also do a combination brunch and tickets which is what we did.
Absolutely gorgeous both inside and out! Lush garden to walk around in right next to the bar, and incredible views of the city. There are even tables right next to the window so you can sip a cocktail and watch the world go by. It can get a little chilly by the big windows, so there were seat warmers in each chair which was absolutely the cherry on top of an excellent experience!
Great views of London. 360 perspective. Best part is that it's free! You do need to book a *free* ticket ahead of time for a specific time slot. As we arrived, there was another couple that did not have a ticket and they were turned away. With a clear sky, you can see a lot of the really impressive skyline and the windows are also marked with what major landmarks are potentially visible. Ideal timeframe is sunset but definitely look ahead for this timeframe as it's the most in demand. You can also stop in for food and drinks but we didn't get anything.
With untoppable views and climate control year-round, Sky Garden is a must-visit for your London visit. Spend time inside and out, with landmark labels in the glass as you make the circuit. Book early and often, starting Mondays 10 am UK time for two weeks in advance, to assure you can reserve your FREE time slot, since it's nearly 0% chance they'll have walk-in spots available otherwise. You're near plenty of other attractions before/after, with convenient transit stops a few hundred metres away. You can linger longer with a drink etc, or buy evening tickets for the top-shelf version. Fall/winter you'll have some great time spots to see sunset/dusk as well, which is probably the best viewing times, but unavailable in the longer-daylight months since closing is 5 pm for free times.
Well, I had manifested it for long time and even got the ticket (Monday morning, it opens) So is it only me or it happens with you guys too? When I reached there, whole building was shut down due to some protest. And it was my last day of trip and after 3 hrs, I had flight to catch. Anyway, It is located in the financial district in the city of London near Fenchurch Street. The top floor of what is affectionately known as the walkie-talkie building it's not difficult to spot. You can spot it pretty much from whichever direction you are coming from after all it does actually looks a bit like a walkie-talkie. You can also see the large area on the top floor which is where the Sky Garden is located. London has a lot of pretty parks and green spaces, but one thing sets the Sky Garden London apart; it's London's highest public garden It's also absolutely free to visit and offers visitors stunning views of some of the city's most iconic landmarks. Free entry, gorgeous views and lots of lovely greenery; you'd be missing a trick if you didn't add the Sky Garden to your London itinerary. It is around a 20-minute walk from London Bridge mainline tube and national rail station, where you can find the Jubilee line. Alternatively, you can get the DLR to Tower Gateway close to the Tower of London.
Amazing, one word of advice book early and don't wait for the last minute. Upon arrival you know you're in the right place because is the sign and it pretty exiting. To avoid the wait just make a reservation to one of the restaurants on the top. Me I was t sure if we wanted to have lunch there so we did it the hard way of booking in advance. Once inside and on the top floor it is pretty amazing to see trees that is almost touching the glass ceiling. I grabbed a pastry and coffee while my partner roamed around enjoying the different species of plants. We went outside and saw almost a 360 degrees of the skylune, a great photo op. it didn't disappoint!
Known as the walkie talkie due to its unique shape, this skyscraper features a top-floor restaurant. Their are age restrictions, and dress codes for the restaurant. The free viewing gallery is on the 43rd floor with panoramic views over London from their foliage-filled atrium. If you want to book a free visit to the Sky Garden it needs to be done three weeks in advance. We could book an expensive cocktail & bar menu in the afternoon or evening, but t time slots appear very limited. read more

First off this place is more "sky" than "garden". If you've been to indoor gardens the like of the "Spheres" in Seattle, you should not expect an indoor jungle here. It is more about the views, but the views are unparalleled. This place is quite popular as you might imagine, especially given that you can experience it for free (if you reserve a ticket in advance online). If not, you can always book a table at one of the restaurants on the same level as the Garden and combine it with the visit to the observation deck (be prepared to pay more for the views than the food/experience you are getting). On a cold and windy day, you can stay inside and still see most of London. Or grab a jacket and venture to the outside deck. All in all, worth a stop. Having done both the Sky Garden and the London Eye, I would say, this is a solid alternative to the latter. read more

After reading a lot about this place, we knew we wanted to come and check the place out. Luckily, we were able to get tickets for an afternoon reservation. Though the reservation allowed to get in without waiting, there is a line for folks who don't have reservations but be prepared to wait at least 45 minutes to get in. Once in, you'll need to go through security check point similar to that of the airport- take everything out of your pockets, belts and walk through a metal detector. It moves really quick and once through that, you are packed into an elevator to head up to the sky garden. Leaving is essentially the same minus the security, but you will queue up and be stuffed into the elevator to make your way down to exit. Once inside, we have to admit that though the views are awesome, it was a bit underwhelming. This may be due to the time we went, maybe mornings or evenings are much better. It was pretty hot when we went and being in a crowded space probably didn't help. Expect typical bar prices on the specialty cocktails but they are good and the bartenders are quick despite how busy it can get. They have some snacks to enjoy as well. read more

We had the Bar Experience in the Fenchurch restaurant. Food was outstanding. Oysters, wagu tartare mini tacos, ceviche, bbq chicken wings and the best was the fries with Scotch bonnet mayo. The mayo was incredible. Excellent service and the atmosphere is elegant and beautiful. read more

360 degree view for free, you just have to make sure you get a timed ticket online. It's called a sky garden and the plants are a nice touch but don't expect a botanical garden! There's plenty of seating and a couple bars offer drinks only, no food. Great experience! read more

We were in town during Halloween & found this place pretty last minute as an option for something to do that holiday weekend. We got our tickets online, it came w a drink ticket not bad helped with the price of the ticket. Drinks we had Spoiled Apple & Blood Drive both were part of the night specials they were not bad but a bit on the sweet side. Later on switched to the Local beers, they were better. This place is pretty cool, my main reason for the high rating is the incredible views all around. Very big venue, they also have a restaurant & upstairs bar area. Nice size location, with some seating areas, it was decorated very cool for the night. Music was not bad, would love to check this place out on my next London visit we had a fun night since it was Halloween weekend. read more

Such a great free attraction! I was excited to come across Sky Garden and glad we snagged reservations about 4 weeks in advance. The site says the accept walk-ins, but at the time of our reservation, they were only taking people with reservations due to capacity constraints, so would definitely recommend planning in advance to avoid being turned away. The process to get up to the top was smooth and well organized, with a security station prior to heading into the elevator. Views from the top were really cool! The 360 degree views were awesome and it was fun to look at the all the plants as well. We couldn't decide if we wanted daytime or nighttime views, so ended up planning it so that we had daylight, sunset, and darkness within our timeslot, and spent a bit over an hour up there. We didn't get any refreshments, but there were coffee and alcoholic beverages available, as well as seating options. The next day, on a walking tour, we learned all about the "walkie talkie" building and the Sky Garden which was interesting. We didn't make it to the Shard during this trip, but don't feel like we missed out at all. If anything, the view from Sky Garden was extra cool since we could see the Shard in the skyline. read more
This place is very nice to see but getting in and out is a nightmare, even if you have reservations. The elevators are small so the lines take forever. It is fine going up because you have the anticipation of seeing skygarden, but when you're trying to leave all of the fun is ruined with the insanely long line. Skygarden is a pretty remarkable place in itself. They also have several restaurants and bars on the top floor with very good offerings but also some of the most expensive food I have seen in London. read more

Was unable to make reservation for Sky Garden so made reservation at Darwin Brasserie. We were able to see and walk thru Sky Garden while taking the views of London. Really nice and beautiful with some photo worthy spots. read more

For our first night London, we made reservations for one of the Sky Garden restaurants. Which we HIGHLY recommend. When you have a restaurant reservation it also gives you access to the sky garden. And a MUCH shorter line. The views are spectacular. I highly recommend booking for dinner near sunset. There is also a bar if you just want to come up for the views. But secure reservations to avoid a long line! There are multiple restaurants here, definitely check them each out depending on what you and your group are wanting! read more
Jamie W. and I had already been on the London Eye on a previous trip to London. We paid the exorbitant fee and even paid more for the souvenir photo (review: https://bit.ly/3SoZCup). I had considered the Shard, but that looked pricey as well. Then on Time Out London, I read about the Sky Garden at 20 Fenchurch Street, a building otherwise known as the Walkie-Talkie for reasons quite clear when you view it from a distance (photo: https://bit.ly/3bswBgN). Now if I was more organized, I would've pre-booked the tickets as they strongly suggest and arrived a half-hour early to mitigate the risk. However, I had the stick removed from my butt and decided to take a chance on walking in on the spur of the moment. They bifurcate their lines accordingly, and it's amusing to see the pre-book line was populated with well monied people in Bermuda shorts and the walk-in line was full of scruffy slackers about twenty years younger. Needless to say, our line was moving slower because they required us to fill out an online form to generate an e-ticket. I must say the staff was very good about all this and helped facilitate our entry. We were then stockpiled into one of two small elevators that zoom up to the 35th floor. The open space was impressive as it took up three floors with a series of 360-degree panoramic views that were outstanding due to the building's central location in the City of London. The Tower Bridge, the Shard, and the London Eye were all within optimal Instagram view. There was the obligatory restaurant and bar, but we didn't partake as we had fish & chips on our mind. The 'garden' part of the name does exist in the plants that are throughout the space, but don't expect a greenhouse. If you're a tourist in London, I strongly suggest a stop here as they handle the amount of foot traffic with great aplomb. Oh, did I mention it's free. RELATED - Exploring London? Wow! I cannot explain how incredible these views are. If you're ever in London visiting and want beautiful views of London this is your place. The have a bar on the bottom level and top level. The atmosphere was amazing and they have restaurants at the top level. Definitely will have to make reservations if you're planning on having dinner. Overall I recommend having a nice chill evening with good drinks and beautiful views to watch the sunset. read more

Couldn't believe that the Sky Garden is free! Make sure to reserve your tickets beforehand because they do run out. The Sky Garden is essentially three stories of London views and I genuinely couldn't be happier with the view, especially on a crystal clear day where you can even watch the sun set. Best part is, you probably won't be as squished as if you go to some place like the Shard and the Shard is part of the views too. I also appreciate how much greenery is here and that you can really walk through the place like its a location rather than just for views. Also the drinks and the food, will not be the best you ever have in London, but are fairly cheap and there's ample seating so you can just eat your stuff while you watch the city views. Hypothetically you can only stay up in the viewing areas for an hour but I don't think there's much regulation here, so stay as long as you want! read more

This place is busy! Reserve in advance, get there early, you will have to pass through metal detectors and show the contents of your bag, you will have to line up for the elevators and they really pack you in there, but once all of that is good you will be on your way to the top and the views are very much worth it, as is the small garden and restaurant area. Keep in mind that to go back down there is another small cue for the elevator again. I didn't order any food or drinks so I can't vouch for those but the views are spectacular! Not my favourite free rooftop in London but a really good one nonetheless. read more

This is hands down the best place I've ever had the pleasure of visiting! The ambiance is simply top-notch, and it exudes a special vibe. I highly recommend making a reservation well in advance, especially for travelers. During my first trip to London, I made a reservation two months ahead, and I'm grateful I did. Upon arriving on the first floor, they may ask for your photo and check your bag; at least, that was my experience. Upon reaching the establishment, approach the server and inform them of your reservation (if you have one, of course). The service is exceptional, although be prepared for a bit of a wait. The ideal time to visit is just before sunset! Admittedly, the menu is somewhat limited, and there isn't much to choose from, but I primarily went for the view, and it did not disappoint. It's absolutely worth it. To reiterate, it's the best bar with a view I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. read more

Great vibes! We did the bottomless spritzes paired with 2 appetizers each and it felt like a good deal. We tried all the spritzes and they were very yummy. The appetizers were good, but not anything special. However, the place is so cute!!! I went during sunset so it was super pretty and they had some live music. read more
It's a public garden but you have to book ticket for free entry in advance. Public tickets are valid for 1 hour from the booking time. Tickets are released on every Monday up to 3 weeks in advance. They do accept free walk in during public hour, but when I was there they denied people without tickets since there was no more space. We arrived about 15 minutes before our booking time at 15:30. The line to get inside was already very long. People with the 3pm ticket still waited to get inside. I noticed people without tickets were queued in the same line with people with tickets even though there was a sign clearly showing how the queue works. I don't think they have a good system to manage the queue. Security was similar like in the airport. They advised to bring ID or passport but nobody checked us. After security, we took a lift to 35th floor. It was raining all day in London, so the view wasn't breathtaking. Terrace was also closed due to inclement weather. There are also many steps inside so it's not ideal for the elders or people with babies/ strollers. I love plants so I was excited to see what Sky Garden offers. But I was so disappointed seeing the plants here. It was so far behind from Gardens by the Bay in Singapore. I don't think Sky Garden was impressive like others reviews said. I was glad that I didn't book a table for dining here. We left after 15 minutes ....I don't see Sky Garden as a MUST place to visit in London. You can totally skip it. read more

Since I couldn't get one of the free garden admission tickets due to my schedule, I decided to make a booking instead at the bar right around sunset. My take? Come for the free admission if you can. Views are great but the garden part is honestly very underwhelming. I was quite disappointed by that. The drinks are pricey and I can't imagine the restaurant being worth it either. Would I come again? Perhaps with a friend who's never been but certainly would plan ahead and get the free tickets. read more

Highlight of our London trip!! Sky garden is something that I would recommend anybody visit during their time in London. Make sure you make a specific timed reservation to go up as they only allow a certain amount of people up at a time. The ambience and atmosphere was absolutely incredible. It was a beautiful extravagant garden up in the sky over 70 stories high. There are multiple levels to it and there is a bar on either side with incredible and very unique drinks. This is a great activity to do in either cold or warm weather since it is inside and covered from any storms. The drinks were extremely unique and very aesthetically pleasing! Not to mention extremely delicious. We got to Sky Garden in time to see the sunset which was also breathtakingly incredible. It's just a quick elevator ride to get up and then you have a beautiful view of the London skyline. We also found it extremely neat that we could go outside and look out onto the city if we wanted to. Definitely check out Sky Garden if you are ever in London! read more
