Magnificient 360 degree views of the London skyline from the 72nd floor including Big Ben, London Eye and Tower Bridge. Champagne offered for a fee with your ticket. Fyi: prior to entry, everyone will be checked for contraband. Great attraction for everyone.

Beautiful 360 degrees view from the top of the Shard. Even the bathroom has a view! Lol Bought a champagne to enhance the mood. Had a fun time trying to snap pics of the sunset.

It was fine. I was expecting a little 'more' but really you're paying an entrance fee to get into an overpriced bar on a very high floor, lol. The day I went was super cloudy (which is not the fault of the Shard, and is to be expected in London, but did put a damper on the experience). The entrance is well organized, though I was a little confused because I had the London Pass and thought that was my entry, but I had to go get a ticket-staff was friendly and helpful here. Of course they make you pose for the souvenir photos you can pay for at the end-I wasn't overly impressed with mine. Once you take the elevators up (yes, you have to take two elevators due to the shape of the building) it opens up onto a bar that goes all the way around the building. There are a few high-top tables and some standing tables/counters along the wall. On a Friday evening those were all packed. They did have some servers walking around, but I had better luck just walking up to the bar. I did get one of their signature drinks but it was messy (it was spun sugar to mimic clouds, and then you poured champagne over it). If you take the stairs up a couple more flights, you can go to a smaller, quieter area that open at the top. Once I found that, it was much nicer because I actually had room to take pictures (there are no tables up there). It was kind of cool that it was open at the top, too (I was there in late summer so it was still warm out). Overall, it was a neat experience, but not for the price. I'm glad I did it as part of the London Pass, as I would have been less than happy to have paid for it outright. If you're looking for a birds-eye view, the London Eye or the Tower Bridge were much more impactful to me (and cheaper).

Waste of money. I bought ticket to The Shard's observatory deck because everywhere I travel to, especially a big city, I want to see the skyline. Thus, I chose The Shard for this experience, which ended up being a waste of time and money. I purchased tickets ahead of time online, which is good. But the entrance to the observatory was difficult to find as there are multiple entrances at The Shard, such as the hotel, office buildings, restaurants, etc. Later on, I learned the entrance was on the side of the building where people were lining up at their timed entry. I went up to the highest point and could not see a damn thing due to fog. But of course, the employee who was telling us about our visit said that this was a "positive sign" because it indicated that the clouds will clear up as it did the previous day. He even said that we could get a refund if we never see a view. After hanging around with no movement or signs of clearing, I asked that same employee about the refund he had mentioned. He told me that they could do that, but I'd need to talk to the ticket counter about that. Therefore, I went to the ticket counter where you first enter the building, reiterating that I'd like a refund since this was my last day in London and there's no view. The staff told me that to get a refund, I'd need to contact the general contact line that was in my e-mail. So again, I was told contrasting information. The staff there even said that the fog never cleared the day before, which is opposite of what the employee at the observatory deck said. So basically that was another lie as if to give us all false hopes. I then contacted the general line for a refund and they told me that they can't refund me because there is no refund policy for weather. But I can come back for another visit by March. Okay well, I don't live on this continent. Multiple staff at The Shard told me I could get a refund since the view was never seen, but that was all a lie. What a waste of money!

Tallest building in Western Europe but cloudy today so view was nor as good as in a clear day. Not as tall as the Freedom Tower bit views pf Tower Bridge from the 80th floor was nice! Offering return ticket on a clearer day or if time allows....

Since it was not raining we decided to go here. The shard provides the highest view of London. I heard the view here are better than the ones at the Sky Garden. At the top you get 360 degree views of London. You can also purchase some refreshments too while looking at the views. They have coffee, cocktails and also ice cream.

We got the Go-City Pass to go into The View from the Shard. The 360 degrees views of London were spectacular, especially on a clear day. We stayed near Hyde Park so we took the tube from the Circle Line to the JB Line toward the London Bridge. The Shard is right outside when you exit the tram station. Once they scanned your ticket(s), the Shard team will scan your belonging for security reasons. Then they will take your photos for purchase when you're ready to leave. After that, you will go up 2 elevators, one to the 30th floor and the other to the 69th floor. the elevator moves at the speed of light, you get from floor 1 to 30 in like 5 seconds. You can also walked an additional 3 flights of stairs to go up to the 72th floor. The Shard consists of a triple level indoor gallery on the 69th floor and a partially outdoor gallery on the 72nd floor. The shard also food and drinks to purchase on the 69th floor in case you wanted a bite. If you're on the 72th and you look at the building peak, you can get vertigo because it looks like the building is moving, which is pretty cool and scary! The 72th floor is very windy but the views were still amazing nonetheless. The building architecture is very modern. It looks like a spire sculpture with exposed beams and bracing. And it is all glass so from afar, it looks like a glass pyramid! I thought of views of London was amazing from up above since you can see every historical landmarks including Big Ben, London Bridge, London Eye, The Walkie Talkie to mention a few....

We went on a cloudy day but there was decent visibility. Based on the time of year and the fact it was a Monday we didn't have any issues getting in; there wasn't a ton of folks. This might sound rediculous but definitely go to the bathroom up stairs there. There are private stalls with beautiful views! The drinks and snacks are extremely overpriced but it was nice to sit for a bit, enjoy a drink and then view. Since you paid to get up there you should enjoy the view. The only major negative is the folks trying to sell you the pictures at the end. I just wanted to look through them but the woman (sales person) would go away. For that they get 1 star but otherwise it's a nice experience. #london #viewfromtheshard #theshard #londontourist #londonviews #wonderlust #loveoftravel #londonpass

If you purchased the London Pass to many of the sightseeing sites of the city, a visit to the Shard is also included. The skyscraper, standing 309.6 meters (1,016 ft for u'murricans) is named for the jagged edges of its design, as if it were a shattered piece of glass. It is a tapered, glass encased tower that looks like it is stabbing into the sky and is currently the tallest in the UK. Accessible from the London Bridge station of the Underground, we arrived to check into the visitors reception to ride the 2 elevators (with a transfer on floor 33) up to the observation deck. It was a fairly windy day with high altitude passing clouds that opened up occasional rays of sunshine, so we were able to get a good view of the city. The 2nd elevator opens up on the 68th floor to the fully enclosed observation deck that has a full 360° view of the city. There is also a cocktail & coffee bar, if you want to purchase refreshments. The area is a great venue to be rented out for cocktail parties with a baby grand piano at the NW corner. Down below, you can spot famous sites such as Big Ben, the London Eye, Tower Bridge, Tower of London and HMS Belfast on the River Thames. Other buildings are identified by the panoramic photos above each window face. I was looking for the Gherkin but it was obscured by the buildings in between, but we were able to spot the Battersea Station to the southwest by its chimneys. Make sure to bring a nice long telephoto lens for your camera or your phone camera has a good zoom ratio to get nice detailed shots. We even able to spot our lunch destination at the nearby Borough Market down below. Next, you can climb up the wraparound stairs up 4 more floors to the open air observation level. There is an auxiliary lift to go up there, but it is reserved for handicap use. On a chilly, windy day, we couldn't take more than a few minutes up there, grab some more pictures and head back down. When you're ready to take the elevator back down to earth level, you can check out your group photo taken when you entered and buy your souvenirs at the gift shop. I bought a sheet metal model of the Shard that I'll have to assemble to commemorate our visit.

The Shard is the tallest building in the UK. It is supposed to look like a shard of broken glass. It's a beautiful structure that is very distinctive addition on the London skyline. It's totally worth paying to go to the top and checking out the city views. Although seeing a view is similar to other tall buildings, I enjoyed the aerial view of the Tower Bridge, Big Ben, the London Wheel, etc. Also, they had some nice "instagram-like" props like a wall of flowers, throne, and phone booth. They also give every visitor some free digital pictures of the visit. Good quick attraction with light crowds. Recommended.

The Shard offers excellent views of London. It's very high up so if you're not a fan of heights it may be best to skip. But if you love heights and feeling the wind on your face (if you go to the very top) then you'll love this! Some heights make me nervous, but I felt very safe from the viewpoints. You can spend a little extra and get a glass of champagne. Would recommend for any traveler

This is the place to get the views. It is 1000x better than the London eye and it's cheaper. My kids even at ice cream at the top. So many photos. Go here instead of the eye.

This is probably the best views of London you can get, better than Sky Garden. I loved the bathrooms with the overlooking views from the windows. One of the best bathrooms I have ever been to. Loved that this is higher than the restaurants at the Shard, which charges a minimum to dine.

Though Sky Garden is free, you still need to book a timed reservation in advance...as in, right when they release the dates 3 weeks in advance. They will run out pretty quickly even if you wait a few days, especially if you're going during busy season. I saw that the reservation is good for one hour, but honestly, they didn't check when I went so they might not be strict on that depending on the crowd level. I went in about 20 minutes early because I wasn't doing anything. You'll check in and go through security. Then you'll get in an elevator to the top. My reservation was at 10:00am, so I got through the initial line and security quickly, but I imagine it would be a long wait later in the day. The view out is great, and there's a balcony so you can take pictures outside. I think the interior architecture was the highlight though along with the greenery. There's so much natural light that gets in the room. It would have been amazing to go during sunset, but that didn't fit in with my plans. Luckily, the view in the morning was good, and the sunny weather was on my side. They have a cafe and a restaurant there. Though overpriced, I still got a flat white to sip on while I took in the views. Overall, I spent about an hour at a slow pace. You definitely don't need that much time, so if you have the chance to visit, it's definitely worth it. Only issue was the line to go back down took longer than expected since people don't maximize elevator space.

They gave us a really nice birthday discount which was unexpected and appreciated. The service the whole time was fantastic and the views were honestly incredible. After that we went down to the 26th floor and stayed there for a while because the vibe was just really good. Live music, more amazing views, people hanging out and enjoying themselves... it felt very "London night out" in the best way. Touristy? Sure. Worth it? Absolutely. Definitely something I'd recommend making time for if you're visiting London.

Because the building does not open until 10am, the front doors are closed and guests are expected to queue up. Surprisingly, there are no signs to tell you where to queue up, so people are waiting in front of the doors until they open. Upon entering, my bag is inspected and you can pick up an audio tour device which has not only information about the cathedral, but has reflection and prayer passages where you can take a seat (there are plenty) and just be. At intervals, the pastor will ask everyone in the building to be silent as he prays for our world. After the prayer and blessing, the pastor makes himself available to anyone. Taking time to pray to God for us and our world was special. While the audio tour was good, talking to the red-sashed volunteers was special in that they had information that was not in the audio tour. For example, the wood carvers would leave a signature on the carving that would be unique like a hidden rocket ship with stars behind some carved vines. If you're a Harry Potter fan like me, you can ask a red-sashed volunteer to show you the Dean's Staircase, a stairway leading to Professor Trelawny's divination class that was used in the film. Unfortunately, you can't walk up the staircase, but you can take some amazing photos. Walking to the Stone Gallery and Golden Gallery requires climbing up 31 flights of stairs, so train well before you arrive. Not only does the Stone Gallery give you a closer look at the paintings on the Dome, but the wall offers a neat little trick, but it takes two people. If you speak into the wall, another person standing on the opposite side (180°) will be able to hear you. On a non-foggy day (good luck with that), you can walk around outside and be able to have stunning views of the city. There's so much to say, but I would rather you experience it for yourself.

But one of its quickest transformations…read morehappened in 1666 when a small fire started at a bakery in Pudding Lane near London Bridge. Four days later, it destroyed most of medieval London, including the old St Paul's Cathedral. The destruction was incredible. Over 80% of the City of London burned, St Paul's Cathedral and innumerable businesses and houses were all gone. There were a few silver linings, however. First of all, the rather serious plague outbreak of 1665 was halted. The Great Fire of London began on the night of 1 September 1666, in a bakery on Pudding Lane. Thomas Faryner, one of the king's bakers, awoke to thick black smoke in the middle of the night. He and his family were able to escape by climbing out of an attic roof and jumping to the neighbors' house; their little maidservant was too frightened to follow and became the fire's first victim. Today it is hard to imagine what London would look like without the Great Fire. In one fell swoop, the medieval city vanished. Streets became wider, and buildings less tightly packed (to help prevent another conflagration). A permanent reminder of the fire was erected soon after the fire was put out called The Monument. It stands today at the site of the first church to be destroyed by the fire and now at the junction of Fish Hill Street and Monument Street. Designed by Christopher Wren, its height of 61 meters marks the exact distance from the start of the fire.
