Well they took that and ran with it and had me sent to the hospital for a 72 hour suicide watch. I told them I was not suicidal it was just a manner of speech. So they said they would pack all my things and send them to the hospital with me. Well they didn't they missed a whole closet with some of my brand new clothes and coats and I'm having a hard time getting them back now. I'm not the one that left willingly and they are responsible for my things so I've been trying to reach them so that I will have a quote this winter. Some of the nurses were very nasty. The facility no longer has this nurse working with me, I have another nurse who works with me at all times. The aides have improved on call times and the facility has successfully kept Covid out. I would have left here if it were not for some people who stood out from the rest, Nurse Helen, Nurse Genna, Desi the med aide and CNA's Welly and Shiree. There are many others who are appreciated and make this place livable but it would fill up this posting. I will remain here until I can correct some issues with my health and can move to assisted living, but for now I am satisfied with the changes they have made and would reccomend it, it far surpasses the two facilities my parents were in.

My 96 year old mother, Gladys Penny, was a nursing care patient at Avamere on Stevens in Medford…read morefor over a month for physical recovery and therapy and nursing care, after several hospital stays with many medical issues for over 3 months, as well as onset dementia. She was not an easy patient to manage for both psychological and medical reasons, and even called Medford Police 911 about 20 times telling them she was being held against her will and more. We worked with her Nurse Director of Health Care, Laurie, and their FNP started treating mother with a drug to manage her dementia/paranoia and we finally had to remove her phones, because Medford Police were a bit peeved to say the least and thought of arresting her at one point lol. I am giving this facility 5 stars because they were able to work professionally and for the most part patiently under trying conditions. Their nursing and physical therapists were very professional and Penny had physically and medically improved when she left Avamere Health. And while my mother was often a bit critical, verbally aggressive and not in her right mind, even she sang the praises of her nurses and therapists. I will also say that my mother did consistently say that the FOOD WAS GREAT, especially breakfast, and admitted to me that they did take care of her ... I might add, in spite of insults and temper tantrums. Those friends of hers who visited her on a regular basis did agree that Avamere Health was a good facility for Penny and we agreed. I registered in October of 2017 and didn't see a primary care until Feb 2018, and never got to see a mental health provider because they had a 12mo wait list. When I did finally get seen by a primary I found out that all the doctors there are the Drug Rehab facility doctors... They didn't know how to treat anything except alcohol and drug addiction. I had pain in my tendons and was told I would be fixed if I didn't drink any alcohol. I was coughing up blood and was asked a series of drug related questions (do I used heroin, cocaine, smoke, etc...) and then was told just to come back in a few weeks if I still have the issue. I'm not going to list everything because I would never finish typing. I couldn't believe how terrible the health care was. I felt like I was there for rehab, not healthcare. I received literally no help for any of my conditions in the 14 months I was registered there and hope that I can help other veterans by writing this. Avoid this facility at all costs! I decided to move to a different state just to receive what I would actually call healthcare. I've lived in many cities all over the states and THIS is the WORST medical facility in the country, VA or otherwise. Try it out if you don't believe me but you will undoubtedly be disappointed. I had heard nightmarish stories about VA healthcare when I was enlisted but had nothing but good experiences myself until moving to southern Oregon. This place should just keep giving drug addicts/alcoholics a place to sober up and not try to branch out into General medicine. 1 star because 0 stars isn't an option. After moving to Fort Myers, FL and registering at the VA here I had an appointment within 2 weeks and was seen by general medicine the same day and had all my labs done. In and out within an hour. I had more done here in an hour than I had done in 5 months at white city.

Employees overworked and underpaid and it shows. Most of the 5 star ratings are from employees trying to up the ratting on Google. The new company, Volare Healthcare, CORRUPT. Place has been through 6 administrators in 3 years. State almost shut it down in 2024. Only Special focus facility in Oregon for over a year... Over 42 confirmed tags by the State including numerous IJs (significant injury). They just pay the fines and back to business as usual. Multiple lawsuits all the time.

I have never had trouble with an appointment date & time with any Dr, etc and it has now happened…read moretwice here. I waited 6 weeks for 1st appointment only to be told I had the wrong date. At the time of that scheduling I asked specifically why must I wait 6 weeks and was told they were busy. When I arrived on that date I was told that it was wrong and was rescheduled for 6 days later. At that time I pulled out my phone and put it on my calendar. Today when I went in I experienced the rudest most unprofessional staff (Dakota & younger girl who refused to give me her name) who immediately told me to leave , I was wrong and did nothing to reconcile the problem. If the office staff cannot competently schedule an appointment then what about the rest of the staff?
