I did not jump out of a perfectly good airplane, but I was a spectator and watched others jump out of a perfectly good airplane. I bought skydiving as a gift for my significant other for Christmas and he was scheduled to jump last weekend but do to weather it was reschedule. However, I didn't mind spending a few hours playing with owner and confidante, Bucky the chihuahua. Please be advised your jump may be reschedule a couple of times and that is clearly stated in the confirmation email. I appreciate that they would rather jump in perfect conditions. Tameka who does the scheduling is incredibly friendly and provided humor which perfectly set the tone for the day. We arrived today at promptly 9:45 am and within 20 minutes the boyfriend and friend were on the plane and then in the air. Watching from the ground was incredibly cool and a staff member came out to explain what was going on, when to expect them to jump, and made us feel really welcome. The entire staff here is really friendly, and the overall experience was magnificent. I really appreciated the professionalism and the laid back attitude the staff had. This is the only place I would consider if I were to skydive, as long as Bucky is there. Ps he likes turkey jerky. read more

The 4 stars is mostly for my husband's enjoyment of his skydive. I guess that's really the best way to put it. I bought this jump for Hubs as a gift for his 50th birthday. However, due to weather delays, we had to reschedule 5 times. I know they couldn't control the weather but it got to the point that I asked for my money back. However, Hubs insisted we wait and we were finally able to get the go ahead. Hubs grinned from ear to ear the minute he got on his gear to the minute he parachuted down. He also couldn't stop grinning during our drive home. He jumped tandem and his partner really helped to hype up his exper I ence. Overall, he loved it and that's all that matters. On a side note, I did purchase the vip experience for him which really ended up giving nothing special so I don't recommend it. read more

Jumped on 9/21/19. Without a doubt was the most intense and exhilarating experience I have had to date. Will definatly do it again as the adrenaline rush compares to nothing else. Had to wait for the clouds to clear, but such is life. They can only control the jump, not the weather. The staff is very friendly and informative. It is definatly a love it or hate it kind of thing. I absolutely loved it. Only thing, would like to go higher next time for a longer free fall. Thanks to everyone involved. read more

Went for my first jump last weekend. My son's 2nd. They are very friendly and make every step of the process fun. From filling out the booklet of permission slips, to getting rigged up with the safety harness, to the explanation of every step, and of course to the actual plunge out of the plane. I'm on the tall end of their limits so I was a bit cramped in the plane, but the view and ride down is way worth a few minutes in the plane. I should have done this years ago. I will jump again. If you are over 6'3" or 230 pounds (on their scale, not yours) you can't jump here, but there are others. But you will be hard pressed to find a better view than flying out over that beach and back to jump in full view of it. They say it, and you will learn it, why birds sing once you've done this. I recommend the photo package for sure. Next time I'm going for the video. read more

I'm very lucky that I married a man that accepts my quirk for what it is: pure, unadulterated crazy. One of my bucket list items has been to go skydiving & I am now officially able to cross it off my list. My husband came to me and said he had found what he wanted to give me for my birthday. One catch: he wasn't going to tell me what it was. All I knew was to wear comfortable shoes (not flip flops) and that I had to be ready to leave the house at 8 AM on a Sunday. Not excited about this adventure so far. After driving for an hour through parts of Jacksonville I've never seen before, we arrived to a little airfield. After figuring out where he needed to go I noticed a small sign for Skydive Amelia Island & immediately knew what I was going to be doing. After meeting Darren & having a brief intro (no two hour class here) I was ready to get on the plane. After a short climb to 10,000 feet it was time for me to jump. The best line of the day was when Darren would signal me it was time to jump by screaming. Uhhhh...ooookkkk. But by the time I registered he was screaming, we were out of the plane & I was experiencing the best rush of my life. I'm not jumping to do it again anytime soon, but I would jump if the opportunity presented itself. Pun intended. read more

Lacks integrity, professionalism, and consistency 100%. Was lied to over the phone, and spoken to so unprofessional. They never answered their phone, or took accountability for their mistakes. Actually, they blamed their bad communication on Groupon which I think is pretty messed up. They don't keep their word and respond very emotional. 0/10 recommend. My family and I took my mom on her 50th to skydive. It was her big birthday wish. We all went out to support her, but were very frustrated with the nearly 2 hour delay at this facility. They were evidentally behind in their schedule - though no one provided a reason why - and we were stuck just waiting for hours before it was my mom's turn to jump. Another family was also waiting and eventually just got their money back . When my mom finally jumped, the wind was apparently wrong and caused her and the professional she jumped with to land on the beach (Fernandina Beach) over a mile away from the landing site we had been waiting at. Granted the wind isn't something controllable by anyone, not even the instructors, but we were even more disappointed that for the hours we had been waiting to see her land, we never even got to. A van went to pick her and the instructor up and drove them back to the site we were at. Overall, not a great experience for us as spectators and everyone, including my mom, was very disappointed in the terribly long delay. We felt they should have informed us this could happen (the delay, not the wind issue) so we could have planned to do something else in the several hours we were just sitting there. read more

I booked and paid in advance. The day of the skydive all was cancelled because the plane's engine was having problems. I never received a refund. I had to dispute with my credit card co. I came to Skydive with a friend of mine while on vacation. I have been once before, it was my friends first time. This place was the best. The instructors are everything and more that you would expect. So chill and laid back, they make it so much fun. They are really good at talking you through everything to make sure you really enjoy yourself and you know you're in good hands. The free fall was so invigorating, and the view is unbeatable. My friend said it was the best day of his life, and it was certainly the highlight of my vacation. We will be back next year for sure. Can't wait until my kids are old enough, this will be where they go for their first jumps! read more

Extremely dissatisfied with my experience and my lost footage. This was my very first jump and like anyone else hoped that my experience was amazing. I paid for the photos and video and was advised it usually takes 12hrs for footage too post on link. Please keep in mind my jump was on 8/19/18 I called on 8/27/18 because by this time my footage was still not posted I was advised that Tameka would call me she never did my only response from her was on on that same day stating they were trying to locate my file (completely understandable) . On 9/7/18 I attempted once again to reach Tameka because by this time I had not heard from anyone. I was sent to a VM and never received a call back which I find hard to believe to not get a call back with an explanation as I had called at 2:15pm and per the hours of operation advertised online it looked like they were still open. The most upsetting part of the entire ordeal is that today I get a notification that my refund for my purchased video and photos was reimbursed don't get me wrong I am glad my money was returned however if the intent was to originally reimburse me or f indeed my footage was lost then a simple phone call explaining that was necessary and is all I was asking for. I will not be recommending this location to anyone I know because of the terrible customer service I received after having a great jump. I truly hope front desk staff is trained on customer service experience and phone etiquette read more

This was probably the most thrilling, adrenaline rushing experiences ever! I had a reservation for my girlfriend and I to do an Tandem jump. The helpful, kind, and funny receptionist (I forgot her name, sorry!) offered to move our reservation time from 1pm to 11am... YES! This was awesome because we got in and out in less than 2 hours, had a phenomenal time jumping, and got to enjoy the rest of our afternoon! We loved our instructors, the flight around the island, the jump, and of course making it back to the ground safely. We'll be back!! read more

Scheduled an appointment at 10am didn't get to jump till 1pm, they tell you to be 15 minutes early and then book 3 other groups at the same time as you. Oh and their GoPro malfunctioned so it missed the best part (jumping out) read more

I have a massive fear of heights so felt the need to jump to conquer my fear! The staff was amazing and my instructor DALE was GREAT! He literally had my back through the whole experience. Despite my nerves the staff made me feel comfortable and calm. I was impressed at the amount of experience the instructors had, I was in good hands so no worries!! Now that my feet are back on the ground, I actually want to do it again! You gotta try this at least once in your life, and this place was an awesome first experience. And obviously weather issues is out of anyone's control unless your God, so don't complain if you have to wait for a cloud to pass...its for your safety! read more

It was a terrible experience, unprofessional, and the employees were rude on multiple occasions. They cancelled on us twice, and didn't attempt to contact us either time until after we had already contacted them - one time after we had driven 1 hour and were sitting outside of their gate, we had to call them for them to tell us they cancelled our jump. When we called the very last time and spoke to management, he was rude and did not seem to want to help. Very unhappy with this experience, and will not come back here. read more

After reading reviews of the many skydive companies in the North/Central Florida area I decided to check out Amelia Island Skydivea week before I reserved a time to jump. My wife and I went a week prior to my booking the jump. What we saw, were many people jumping that day. As they came down they all were thrilled and happy. We did not see anyone with regrets. We met the owner and she was very pleasant and helpful. The young lady that does the booking and edits the video was very nice. I booked my jump and it was fantastic, I also took the video how could you not with my tandem instructor Tom making all those funny comments. Just so you know this is run out of a very large mobile trailer, the bathroom is a portlet and the weather can be a factor in the time it takes for your jump. These are all factors that I knew ahead of time and were no problem at all. The plane is a small single engine that carries a pilot and two instructors along with two tandem jumpers. This was a fantastic experience my instructor was fantastic and I was glad I was hooked up to him, a very funny guy.I highly recommend this company as this was my 60th birthday and I made it alive and with no broken bones. This is a must do item! the couple that went ahead of me booked a spaced to do it again that day. My wife did not go up with me she had no intention of leaving the ground. We had our first skydive with these guys. Amazing experience!! All of the staff are so very pleasant especially Dale and Kevin( the instructors) . They are so thorough and make the experience so fun from start to finish. They are very personable , professional,and make you feel so comfortable. The photos I had were so hilarious because there was nothing pretty about my face with the wind up there. I also love how they add the music to the video. The views are beautiful you get a 360 view of everything including the beach. TERRIBLE!! This was a horrible experience. We were told that if you pay cash they charge you $9.00 more per person and they wouldn't be able to guarantee you a reservation. Since when does cash come with a debit? They only give you a jump time if you pay with a credit card. They told us the only available day was Friday because they were closed Tuesday-Thursday for repairs. They texted us Thursday afternoon to tell us they were cancelling because the plane wasn't back from repairs yet. They would not refund our money even though they cancelled for reasons other than bad weather and tried to give us a certificate that we can't use because we don't live here. After twenty minutes and two different people, one supposedly a manager, they told us we could jump Saturday morning at 8:00 A.m.. They waited a few hours and then called to tell us they would be closed all weekend for repairs. They tried to justify not refunding our money on the basis that it says they may have to cancel. I understand if the weather is bad, but I don't feel like the company being slow with repairs to the tarmac & plane is our fault. They knew the plane was down when I called! They REFUSED to refund our money and were rude and unhelpful. We are out hundreds of dollars and they NEVER even apologized. WORST customer service. Absolutely ruined our 1st family vacation in 3 years. DO NOT waste your time or money!!! Its a complete scam!!! read more

This place is completely unprofessional. They were rude and rushed us through the whole process. I never felt that I was properly instructed on the jumping process or any safety regulations. We were the last people to jump that day and they had been running ahead of schedule .We made it on time for our appointment but they made it clear that they had been waiting, that we were the last to go, and they were ready to get out of there. Once up in the plane the Australian instructor was even more rude and was yelling and actually cursed at me. I understand it's hard to hear up there but there is no need to curse especially when the other instructor was much calmer and spoke much nicer. Not yelling and cursing to sit this way and hold here. His actual words "Not like that! Hold your f****** straps like this!" After we landed he didn't say one word to me. He packed his shoot and left me in the field to walk back alone. No "How was it?, You okay?" Nothing at all. He just walked in and that was it. I paid $200 for 20 minutes of their time. The least I could get is some courteous professionalism. i purchased 2- skydiving tickets for my little sister as a graduation present ($298) on the website livingsocial.com . she let them expire. i called living social to get them to renew the certs as they have before. they said because they were expired, they could not renew them and to call the merchant, the merchant was responsible for honoring them. i called "skydive amelia island" and they said it would be $100 per ticket to renew them. i said on what grounds? youre not out any services. the lady said that is to cover the difference in the cost of what they normally are. i told her they were on the same website right now for the same price i paid for them. she said that it did not matter. the only reason they are requiring the extra $100 per ticket is to be greedy and i do not appreciate it. that says alot about the operation they're running. buyer beware!! stay away!! oh, and i just saw online they had a plane crash. you might want to look into it. read more
