The appointment went super smooth, the cleaning was less painful than most cleanings I've had. Dr. Lim is extremely nice and professional. However, Dr. Do is very mean and speak to patients like stereotypical asian moms speaking to their kids. (That is, she will just talk over you and yell at you even when you talk to her nicely). I don't enjoy getting yelled at, so I'd say, either you make sure your visit is with Dr. Lim, and if you can't, there are better dental clinics, for example, near by in warm springs, Fremont. read more

SKYE DENTAL still continues to be the BEST Dental Office I have been too! I have been going to there office close to 10 years now and they have continued to be Great! The staff is friendly and easy to communicate with. They do a great job of communicating appointments and changes if there was any. Everytime that I come into Skye dental office it has always been clean just like new. The dentist and staff does a great job of communicating everything that is being worked on and also if there is any needed any further work done or concerns. If this sounds like you, read my story, and I hope it will convince you to turn your dental health around and visit Skye. If this doesn't sound like you, and your teeth are healthy and shiny, go to Skye anyways. They are awesome. But we're getting ahead of ourselves. Let's roll the clock back to the year 2010: I had just arrived in the Bay Area, and made it a priority to find a good dentist. My teeth were in abysmal shape, and my relationship with dentists was, well.. complicated. The last dentist I had been to actually yelled at me over the "situation" she had found present inside my mouth. It was a disaster. I was caught in a viscous circle of avoiding the only people that could help me. As every time I went to one, I received nothing but scolding, painful treatments, and scolding. And so, when I first read the raving reviews for Skye Dental, I was skeptical. Were people just excited because of the massage chairs and fancy screens? Was this place with "Cosmetic" in its name even a real proper dentist? I finally decided to take the plunge, and nervously made an appointment. I knew I had a long road to good dental health ahead of me, but I was determined to make progress. When I met the staff, they asked me some background questions, including whether I feared dentists. I nervously confirmed the latter, and shared my story. I will never forget what Dr. Do did next: She showed me the issues she had with her own teeth, explaining that even a dentist didn't have perfect teeth. Never had a dentist done this before, and it immediately put me at ease. We then got to the (once dreaded) cleaning, and I was amazed at just how little pain I experienced. This usually had me in pain for days! The extremely talented staff explained to me that technique here was key. And boy, do they know their technique! As I mentioned, I knew there was a long road ahead of me. A previous accident had left my front teeth in very poor shape, and many dentists before Skye had told me these would soon "fall out". Fantastic. Dr. Do and the Skye Dental team helped me through the process of repair. They took my hand, and helped me each step of the way. They referred me to excellent surgeons and other specialists that could help me. And most of all: They organized everything for me. Rather than myself chasing down appointments and next steps, Skye Dental was always in the loop, and always a step ahead. I needed lots of doctors, and they needed to talk to each other. The team at Skye organized all of this for me. It was a complicated case. So much that it has apparently become somewhat of a showcase in the dental community. But I didn't have to lift a finger to make sure this machinery stayed in motion. Skye was always in the center of it all, there to organize meetings between the doctors, ensure everything was done in the right order, and that we were on track to better days. Some specialists were (put nicely) not quite as well organized, and Skye basically took on that task for them, which I cannot thank them enough for. And when one of the specialists turned out to not be quite compatible with me, Skye was quick to get me a new world-class specialist in the area. Long story short: Thanks to Skye Dental, I am a completely new person regarding my teeth today. I am confident, I smile again, and I feel good about my teeth. I don't fear dentists anymore, and even look forward to the appointments just ever so slightly. A lot of people made this happen, but through it all, Skye Dental was there to guide me every step of the way, and tie it all together. Skye Dental is amazing! When I had my first appointment I remember telling them that I had a phobia of dentists because I had had bad experiences with pain during cleanings in the past from harsh and uncaring dental hygienists. Skye Dental was extremely accommodating and understanding of my fears, and made sure to always clean carefully and gently, taking into account where I was sensitive. After recommendations on toothbrushes and toothpaste, and semi-annual cleanings for the past four years, I can honestly say that my teeth have never been better. I love Skye Dental and all they do to make you feel comfortable. They even set you up to watch Netflix/TV during the cleaning! It's as calm and relaxing as if you're in your own living room. This is the worst dental I have been to. The staff are not friendly. Even worse the dentist Dr Do. She forced people to do much more expensive dental services, like deep cleaning, and if they are not comfortable to do it, she will not accept you anymore. The dental assistants are rough and even general cleaning felt painful. They obviously charge more for all the jobs, considering that the clinic looks so much like a cosmetic counter, they must need a lot of money to run their business. They will not accept any customer who just wants to do general cleaning. Instead, they will push you other services like dental implants. I will never come here again. read more

I referred my mother to this dental center because her doctor is no longer in practice. My mom has had a very difficult time finding a trusting place that is willing to onboard new patients due to her age (73 years old) and the severity of her denture. Skye Dental had no problem making an appointment for her and welcome her with opened arms. During the appointment it was determined that she is in need of implant support dentures, which is a service they do not provide. However, they did not leave us with no help, Dr. Do made a referral to another clinic that specialize in dental implants. Not only did she made a referral, she waived the fee for the X-ray and consultation since they were not going to be able to assist us. My elderly mom and I left the clinic feeling fortunate and full of joy. I called the dental implant clinic to make an appointment and was shocked when I heard that they had also received an email from Dr. Do with information regarding the referral. Skye Dental went the extra mile and contacted the dental implant clinic themselves to provide them awareness that they had new patients coming their way. This was one of the most amazing experiences that I've encountered, and, for that reason I'm taking the time to provide this detailed review. Having a dentist office that you can trust and who will walk with you through the process is what I call excellent customer service. One more thing ... when I visit clinic, staff will always provide you the best smile and service that I usually obtain when I go to a spa. Regular dental cleanings and check-ups are important components of maintaining your overall health. The equipment is state of the art - I was amazed as to how comfortable and at ease I felt during my last cleaning. I appreciated her explaining what she had found in the x-rays she had taken - thankfully, no cavities, but there were places that we needed to watch to make sure that there were no future problems. Dr. Do is easy to talk with and was patient in answering all my questions. She is professional, knowledgeable, personable and gentle. I had a dental mishap on Sunday afternoon. I called Dr. Do's office and heard on the voicemail that Dr. Do was on vacation until the following day. I left a message for her, hoping to hear from her in the morning.... Dr. Do called me right back, two times, on a Sunday from her home to help me and make arrangements for me to come into her lovely dental center. Coming in to have my crown re-glued in, Dr. Do found out I had broken my tooth underneath and fixed my teefers. She did a beautiful job, as always. I relaxed in her luxurious comfy chair and with a heated shoulder massage-y thing on my shoulders. I felt like I was at Burke Williams Spa! I wish I could give this place 10 million stars!! Dr. Do is amazing, gentle, and very informative just like everyone has said. I wanted to find a new dentist that was closer to my house. I was seeing Dr. Karen Ho (http://www.yelp.com/biz/dr-karen-ho-dds-san-jose) who is amazing as well, but completely on the other side of town. Skye Dental is a beautiful office, very serene, modern, and well designed. Its also very high tech and forward thinking. The x-ray machines are all digital which enables Dr and patient the opportunity to see things in X-rays traditional x-rays cannot view. The experience starts off with her dental assistant, Michelle, getting you all prepped and good to go with a very informative video on dental hygiene. It almost reminded me of that employee safety video you would watch on your first day on a job. After that Dr. Tuuyen begins the medical exam, shows me my X-rays, and explains to me my x-ray, and in depth which was great. I really care about my smile and teeth and I try to be as anal as possible. So, to be informed with everything going on in my mouth was something well appreciated. Now to the nitty gritty. Before my cleaning started I was handed a video menu. "I CAN WATCH MOVIES while getting my teeth cleaned!!" OKAY that is a freaking treat! I can't help but rave to everyone about my experience here! The reasons why you should visit here are endless, but let me break it down for you: 1. X-rays and photos of each section of your teeth are thoroughly explained by Dr. Do; She's really the the most informative and empathetic dentist I've ever visited. The explanation really helps break down how well you're maintaining your teeth and what to change. 2. You're given a warm neck pillow when you're lying down for teeth cleaning, but that's not all! (look at 3) 3. A recent movie, i.e Prince of Persia, The Back up Plan or Disney movies are played, your choice of course, and you listen to the movie with big comfy earphones while the procedure is being done. 4 . As soon as you think that it couldn't get more luxurious, a back massager is activated. SO GREAT! The pleasant staff and ambiance is pure quality and dentistry at it's finest. She's redefined the whole dental experience for me and i can't even express how badly i want you visit and see this for yourself. If all dentist were like Dr. Do, I'm 100% sure that we would be walking around with smiles better than the celebrities. Everything there is super nice and clean. The tv and movies are great, even warm neck pillows! Staff is friendly and cleanings were good. Only thing, I feel like since they are a "cosmetic" center, they want to do procedures and charge you for a lot of things. I understand it is a business, but I just want to find a dentist who truly cares about me and my teeth. Nothing extra. Not trying to be rude or mean, but I just have to say how I feel. It's hard to find dentists you can trust that don't look at you like a dollar sign. Especially in the Bay Area. I feel so jipped when I think about my previous dentists compared to Dr. Do. Her office is AMAZING in every way. Paper less? Better for environment? You got my attention there. I'm a big tree hugger. Even for those who are not tree huggers, think about how convenient it is and cheaper when they can just email your X-rays to specialists when you need more work done. I just got new insurance and new job, so I was in the market looking for new dentist. I cannot believe I missed out on this one. I live in Milpitas! What a gem! The office is amazingly clean. I love everyone in here. I loved watching Friends while Dr.Do worked on my teeth. I love how she took the time to explain every X-ray to me and tell me what I will eventually need to do to fix my issues. She didn't just tell me, she explained. Really took her time for cleaning. I walked out of there with a lot of issues, but I was motivated to fix them, because she told me the consequences, if I don't. The location can be hard to find. Only negative if you're new, but if you have a smart phone, you're fine. Tip: if you need to go before work, they open really early, too. 7:30 AM EARLY. I don't know if it was just Friday only, but it is an option! I walked out with a reusable zip mag with gum, toothbrush, toothpaste, and her business card. I thought the bag was a nice little touch. I referred my coworker to this place because of my experience, and I get a personal written card thanking me for my referral with Starbucks gift card. I think I've finally reached dental heaven and found my dental saviour after years of dental purgatory. Dr. Do is gentle, friendly, attentive and extremely knowledgeable. You know she truly wants her patients to have a pleasant experience. Dr. Do's office is not your typical sterile dental office. It is warm, open, tranquil and inviting. She's got all the high tech dentistry gadgets including a digital x-ray machine. I was also able to watch part of the Inauguration on the monitor while I was getting my teeth cleaned. There were also a selection of movies that you could choose from. It's obvious that Dr. Do wants her patients to be as comfortable as possible as she provided sunglasses to offset the glare from the overhead lights. I've been meaning to write a review for this place for a long time now... and now the time has come!! If you know me, you'll know that I absolutely hate going to the dentist.... I'd rather go to the doctors and get a bazillion shots then go to the dentist... but that is all in the past now. Dr Do and her excellent team of hygienists and dental assistants make going to the dentist such an awesome experience! Dr Do is very gentle yet thorough. I've always been self conscious about my teeth but I never felt that way under her team's care. I feel confident when I smile thanks to Skye Dental!! (insert smiley face here). I just had my first appointment with Dr. Do at Skye Dental Center today, and I loved everything about my experience! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by Dr. Do's friendly assistant Michelle. As I filled out my new patient paperwork I was offered a cup of hot tea :) Dr. Do welcomed me to the office and brought me back to the exam room. They were extremely attentive and eager to make my experience comfortable. Dr. Do put sunglasses over my eyes to shield them from the overhead lights, and she placed a blanket over my legs (she could tell I was cold). One of the nicest things about her office is that you can listen to your personal choice of music during the exam, or you can select a movie to view on a flat screen TV that hangs above. That part alone was great and made the time fly by :) Dr. Do was great about explaining details about what she was doing every step, and also what I should know about the condition of my teeth. Almost 2 years ago I remember seeing the first images of Skye Dental Center in it's infancy while it was still under construction. I thought to myself, 'How cool it that? It really looks like someone's dream come true!' After visiting and experienceing Skye for myself, I have to say that's exactly what it feels like down to every last detail! From the wonderful insight of Dr. Do and helpful support of Michelle, to the state-of-the-art equipment in every corner of the their office, every experience I've had at Skye Dental has been nothing short of amazing. Before going to see Dr. Do, I went to the same dentist for almost 25 years. Not that they were bad, but going to see the team at Skye Dental is like a breath of clean, crisp, and fresh air! I've been a long time patient of Dr. Do's, and it's really exciting to see her open her own practice! My first appointment at Skye Dental was a wonderful experience, and as usual I was given 5-star treatment (out of 5 stars of course). She is definitely the type of dentist that will give you the utmost attention and care. I've been to other dentists that work on too many patients at the same time, and I would end up sitting in the chair staring into space while waiting for them to come back. After I settled into the exam room, I was given a pair of sunglasses to help shield my eyes from the overhead dental lights. It sounds like something so small and simple, but it makes a big difference. My personal favorite is being able to watch a movie during the exam. There was a good variety of movies to choose from. It makes the time fly by and your appointment is over before you know it. As for the dentistry, Dr. Do is top notch. With other dentists, I usually brace myself for some slight pain/discomfort during exams. However, with Dr. Do this was not necessary. She was very gentle and thorough, and I didn't feel any discomfort at any time. I highly recommended Skye Dental and Dr. Do to everyone! read more

Just got my teeth cleaned this morning, and as always, visiting Skye was pleasant. I normally dread going to the dentist, but I always leave Dr. Do's office in a good mood. Seriously, I can find nothing bad to say about this place. Pros: - Very clean office. Feels like a townhouse converted into a dental office. - Staff is very professional and friendly. They are all female and relatively young, so maybe it's easier for me to chat with them? - They distract you while they are cleaning you teeth with a TV show or movie. They pull the screen a few feet from your face, give you sunglasses so that the overhead light doesn't blind you, and give you a headset so that you can focus on your show instead of what they're doing to your teeth. - I LOVE the warm neck pillow and massaging chair. So relaxing! - They even apply lip balm on your lips when they are done (with a Q tip of course). I never want to see another dentist again! read more

So twice a year I make an appointment for 30 minutes of relaxation here at Skye. Doesn't matter that I have to set my appointments for early in the morning before I go to work... it is worth it. I arrive, sit down and recline on these awesome massage chairs, pick a movie, slip on some headphones and Dr. Do cleans my teeth. Wait what? Did I say clean my teeth? Am I talking about going to the dentist? Yep. Skye is awesome. Dr. Do and the rest of the staff are top-notch. I've never had any problems here and I've been going for 3 years now. So I had to go in today to replace my 3 fillings on the right side of my mouth (left side next time). I was dreading it a little since my past experiences with fillings have never been pleasant. At the least, there will be that one time where the dentist strikes the nerve or pushes the drill too hard, making me wince, even though he called it "pressure". Even with local anesthesia, I would feel the drill. Not so this time! Dr. Do used a two-step numbing process, where your gums get numbed by swab first, then after it's numb, the needle can go in pain-free. After that, she meticulously uses the drill to remove the old fillings. Seriously, I did not feel anything. And I loved the fact that she timed it so that while my mouth was getting numb, she was doing the regular cleaning, so I got both the cleaning and fillings done in just over an hour. And of course, as usual, the heated neck pillow, massage chair, and a playing movie helped enhance the experience, distracting you away from the dental work. Now I am less anxious about my next appointment to do the left side. Surely, I will have another pleasant experience in the skilled hands of Dr. Do! read more

I was referred to Dr. Do 6 years ago for my general dentistry. Needless to say, over the years she has done a lot more than just clean my teeth including light cosmetic work, fillings, and teeth whitening. She has a warm demeanor that puts patients like myself at ease. Dr. Do is very thorough and knowledgeable, explaining each and every step of the procedure. I was so pleased with the outcome of my first appointment with Dr. Do that my husband switched over as well. It didn't take long for my whole family to become patients of Dr. Do, including my 6 year old son and 4 year old daughter. They feel very comfortable in her presence. I have been to Skye Dental three times in the past year and never got a chance to write my review. This is the BEST dental center I have ever been to in my life. I cannot compare this to other South Bay dentists because I have not lived here long enough to experience others yet (most likely won't unless I move again). The office is very clean and the receptionists are always very pleasant. Booking an appointment was easy over the phone, and reminders are either phoned or emailed to you to confirm that you can attend your appointment. Dr. Do and her assistant, Danielle, are so polite, friendly and aware of you while they are cleaning your teeth. You can choose what type of show or movie you want to watch while they service your teeth, and every time I have gone I always had the back massage on for my chair with a warmer. Very nice! The only issue I had before/during my first visit was my dental insurance. I had let them know over the phone which insurance I had, but was not informed if my insurance was accepted or would cover the costs of general visits. Thankfully, my insurance covered all costs for basic visits, but I was a little worried for a few days when I didn't get a bill or claim form in the mail. Otherwise, I would recommend Dr. Do and Skye Dental to anyone who wants to be well taken care of and have beautiful teeth! read more

Dr. Do goes over images of your teeth. Nikki does an excellent job cleaning teeth. I highly believe she cleaned my teeth better than any other hygienist or dentist who I have visited. I couldn't believe how white and clean they looked! The icing on the cake would be how great of a job they did and my appointment was completed under an hour! Other pluses are the spa-like feel, massage chairs, warm neck pillow, cleanliness and movies/shows you get to watch while they clean your teeth. read more

I recently changed dentists to start seeing Dr Do. I had been with my previous dentist office for more than 30 years, so I'm not someone who changes dentists easily or often. However, I am so glad I made this change. On my first visit, I was treated well and made comfortable by every single person with whom I interacted, from the receptionist to the hygenist to Dr Do herself. The office ambiance also contributed to my relaxed and pleasant experience. I'm thinking I may have found my next dentist with whom I'll stay another 30 years. :) read more

Wait, how have I not written a Yelp review for this place yet?? As a child, I grew up going to the family dentist whom my parents had rapport with and got discounts from. However, because of him, I always hated going to the dentist--he did quick shoddy work that always left my gums bleeding--and my whole view of dentists was based on him. Fast-forward to post-undergrad when I moved to San Diego and was finally forced to find a new dentist. BOY was that a blessing in disguise. I found this amazing dentist who took the time to clean my teeth, pain-free! Ummmm is this how dental cleanings are supposed to be?! Jeez I missed out my whole childhood. Fast-forward to (sorta) present-day when I moved back to the bay--definitely NOT going back to the family dentist. I did my due diligence, comparing in-network dentists to Yelp reviews and found this place. Not only are they punctual, pleasant, and take time to perform their work pain-free, but omg, their dental chairs provide a relaxing massage, they provide a warm neck pillow, and they have recent movies and tv shows for you to watch during the cleaning. I am sad to say good-bye to this place, as they are no longer in-network with my insurance provider :( read more

I don't usually give out 5-stars. It is usually reserved for outstanding places, which is Skye Cosmetic Dental Center gets a 5-stars rating from me. Not having been to the dentist for awhile, I was apprehensive. However, the staff and hygienist made me feel right at home. SCDC is a very clean, warm, and modern office. Each station has an LCD TV and an array of movies and TV shows for you to choose from while the procedure is done (just don't choose anything that's funny). Dr. Do examination was very thorough and informative. She took the time to explain my dental health situation and addressed any concerns I had. Overall, highly recommended to anyone looking for a dentist. read more

I think I missed an update for last year in December, as I got a new job last year and have been pretty busy but I don't want to get complacent as my next 6-month checkup is coming up in a few weeks (I'm sure others will agree - its a bit funny to look forward to your dental check-ups!) and I have no doubt it'll be the same positive and pleasant experience I've always had with Dr. Do and her staff year after year. There are a lot of places with positive reviews on Yelp for a lot of places but if you look at the reviews for Skye Dental, there's basically no one who has anything but 5 star reviews for a reason. This place has always been and is still 5 stars so the only way it could get less would be either someone accidentally clicked the wrong number of stars, was somehow borderline unreasonable or Yelp did some fuzzy math. Yelp sorts/filters some reviews for a reason but if you were to look at my reviews, I rarely have the time to even review a place unless I know a place is AWESOME since my job keeps me pretty busy where I don't know how other people on Yelp have so much time to even write so many reviews (but I greatly appreciate those that do). But one thing I know is that I keep updating on this review because the experience at Skye Dental has been consistently positive so deserves consistently positive reviews. Bottom-line, if you live close enough(either Milpitas or Fremont), are looking for a great dentist, pleasant and helpful staff, and a nice office in a convenient location than I would call and make an appointment at Skye Dental right away. read more

Everything is fast, friendly, comfortable and entertaining. Fast because when you have an appointment, your teeth get worked on right away. No waiting. Friendly because office staff greets me by my name and and cares about any needs or questions. Comfortable because the eye glasses they provide to prevent the light being too bright, and warm pillow!! Entertaining because I can sit back and relax while watching any movie or episodes I want. Skye Dental is AMAZING! I just spent the last 40 minutes on a massage chair, with an aromatherapy neck pillow, tinted shades to protect my eyes from the fluorescent lighting, and an episode of CSI: Las Vegas playing, all while getting my grill cleaned and polished! I felt so pampered! Dr. Do and staff are extremely personable and caring. The office is very modern and soothing. I highly recommend Skye Dental to anyone. :) read more
