We stood behind a lady paying and talking for a good 5 minutes waiting to pay. I am not sure the lady saw my grandson or me, we are both short. A young man walked up and stood beside the lady paying for about a minute. The clerk started to take the young man's item and I said we were here first. She was so rude to me and said no you weren't he was here first and the lady in front of me said he was standing beside me so he is next. I said I have been standing behind you for at least 5 minutes. I laid the hat down on the counter and walked out and she yelled at me how rude I was. I normally dont complain or write bad reviews but this really bothered me. I taught school for 30 years and have a strong sense of fairness. This woman was so hateful to me and my grandson, he was nearly crying. There is no excuse for this. I hope she was just having a bad day and doesn't treat everyone like this. I am trying to teach my grandson to treat everyone with kindness.

Also, because it's an active skiing town in winter and hiking town in summer, I'm not going to get all dolled up and dressed up to shop. I'm going to wear whatever I'm wearing for the day because I don't have to impress shop girls. I, like many others, also got the feeling that I was also being sized up while walking around and when I asked about a beautiful $300-400 dress in the window on the mannequin, the gal behind the counter made it clear that she didn't want to go through the trouble to take it down for me because it was "the last one and probably wouldn't fit". I'm a size 00-0 so I usually can fit easily into what fits mannequins but I decided I wasn't going to argue the point that badly to beg someone to take $400 from me. I browsed around and found the store to be cluttered and loaded with mismatched items and several items where only one or two were available (unless they keep much of the inventory in the back) so things I liked I figured weren't in my size based up on the earlier discussion with the gal working the counter. Most of these items appear vastly overpriced for the quality, style, and shape of them so I decided to leave without purchasing or trying anything on. Not really to my taste anyway aside from a few pretty dresses. Most of the items looked like stuff Kanye would wear on TV interviews honestly.

When we walked in, whew, the store is pretty overwhelming! There is SO much inventory that it makes it hard to focus. The racks were jammed tight with clothing which made it a somewhat stressful shopping experience. The price point is also super high which is expected in Telluride but a pair of tassel earrings for over $300?! That seemed wild to me. The gal working was on a video call picking out new inventory so she seemed distracted and wasn't the friendliest. I tried it on inside and easily made the choice bc there were only two left. This store has tons of cute items like shorts, t-shirts, sweaters, jeans, dresses, tanks, tops, shoes, jewelry, stickers, even cups and hats. They even had a super small sale section in an upstairs annex as well as a rack out on the sidewalk with items discounted. The following day - before we went for a hike and headed out of town - my friend and I walked by on our way to coffee and I saw the dress I had purchased not more than 24 hours before discounted by 20%. I grabbed it and took it inside and asked the gal behind the counter if I could get a price match since I had just bought the exact dress. She said when they have two items or less they do that... they had two when I bought mine. She said she'd have to ask the manager/owner and I said, "Please do". Fortunately, she was right around the corner and she came over and easily said, "Of course I'll do that" and they refunded me $25. She was so nice. She said she totally understood and she was going to wear the same dress to a wedding that weekend. So friendly, and such an easy thing to do. Highly recommend. I went into a few of the other shops while here and no one was as easygoing and friendly as this shop.

This specific business has changed some over the years. They opened up another location in South Fork called the Blue Eyed Bear and have made that their high end women's fashion and jewelry store that the owner is mostly at. That has made this location mostly touristy stuff. There's a lot of Creede t shirts and hoodies here, that's a good portion of the store. There are a lot of gifts like mugs, pottery, jewlery, candles and knives but a small amount of each now that they have split up into two locations. It's still a great place to visit and I've gotten a great handmade knife here at a good deal for my father before. It's still a good spot to come visit on the corner of Main and Wall. If you are looking for more high end women's clothing, I would suggest paying a visit to South Fork since it's only 20 miles away and the town has some other things to offer as well.
