The station itself is great! There are 3 elevators so it can meet the large demand of people getting to their flights with luggage. There are no escalators though, so stairs or elevators only. There are three entrances; one at the mezzanine and two at ground level. I highly recommend going to the airport using the mezzanine entrance, left to Terminal 2 (non-Hawaiian Airlines besides to Japan) and right to Terminal 1 (Hawaiian Airlines exclusive). Terminal 2 is a short walk through the Terminal 2 garage and to the bridge to the terminal. Terminal 1 is a convoluted two-step process of walking through the International Garage, going to floor 6 to the overpass to the Inter-Island Garage, crossing the garage onto the Terminal. Pro Tip: If you're going to Waikīkī, buy your Holo Card at the Station and take the W Line, which a 3 minute walk to in front of the lei stands. If you don't want to walk that far, take Skyline one stop East to Ahua Station and meet the W Line in front of the station entrance (free transfers included). Aloha means both hello and goodbye in the Hawaiian language. Nice station, overall. Park and ride lot; there are a couple of electric charging stations on the Diamond Head side. TheBus stops are right outside of the station. Rail cars are clean and nicely air-conditioned. City and County employee is on the car; also, security cameras are inside the station and car. Went last Sunday only to have morning rides cancelled due to issues with the tracks.

The ride is shaky as most said but nothing different from other rails I've ridden, depending on where you're sitting it's cool in comparison to the window seat I had earlier so it's all a matter of preference of view or comfort lol!! The convenience of the Pearl City centralized location does have the down side of no parking whatsoever and this small station don't have very much seating as it very hot and will not be my favorite to frequent as many places is best for me to drive. The Makalapa/Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Station is perhaps the most beautiful station in the…read moresystem so far. This station is one of the four stations that opened in October 2025 as a part of the Skyline Sement 2 extension. It's located right across the street from the Makalapa Gate of the Pearl Harbor Naval Base on Kamehameha & Radford. It is also about a 7 minute walk uphill to the NEX (take 1L from the Hālawa Station if that's too far for you), and Target Salt Lake about a 13 minute walk away. Two buses serve this station, with PH8 running to Pearl Harbor (10 minute frequency at rush hour; every 1 hour mid-day) and 331 to Hickam AFB every hour. The station itself is very beautiful, from the green roof, cool artwork in the mezzanine level, green-painted fences, and a nice design on the station entrance tile. This is also one of the only stations that have escalators from ground level to platform (one direction only though). Also, another surprise is the bike rack storage within the paid area with a security camera watching over the area!!! You can literally bike to the rail and keep it here while you work at Pearl Harbor. It's really nice! I haven't used it other than sightseeing on opening day, but I look forward to using it going to the UPS Store at NEX, or Target (if I don't want to wait for the 1L lol).

Construction started already beyond the Kahauiki Station as we speak I believe the track is up to Marukai area. The train is very clean and comfortable they have workers going up and down the cars cleaning along with security roaming the train . The station entrance is easily accessible from the bus terminal. There's a decent sized parking lot where you can park for a maximum of 24 hours, but no shade. There are also restrooms that's part of the bus terminal. The station is very new, so everything is clean. There are elevators from the bus facility, but it's a semi-lengthy walk to the rail line. A moving walkway would be nice, but I'm already wondering how much did each nut and bolt cost. Nice to see there was security around as well. Can't wait till the rail can go east from here...

Spur of the moment, let's go to Kapolei today, wait... wanna go on the rail, round trip 40 minutes…read morefrom Kapolei Station to Halawa Station. No more free rides as of today but $10 for 2 Holo cards and two riders got us a morning adventure. We stood stupefied for a moment reading the signage. Nice employee came to our assistance. She informed us that this station only sells adult cards not senior cards. I told hubs it's fine so we got our entry into the station. If you have mobility issues there is an up escalator and a down elevator. If you park at the Park and Ride there is a short walk but walkers or a wheelchair might be helpful to those who need them. There is a bus stop there which drops off in front of the station. Watch for what Train platform you need to be at. At the C level you'll proceed to either T1 or T2. Approaching trains and times are lit up so look for the signs. Once on, there are seats that face forward, backwards or for priority seating facing sideways. The seats are comfy, for 70,000+ riders having ridden Skyline it is clean, and there are employees on board monitoring. Ingenious how the stops were determined by landmarks chosen for stations like LCC, Pearlridge and Halawa. Still requires walking but nevertheless convenient to hopefully alleviate morning and afternoon commute times. The distance between stations seems close enough and gets you there quickly. The next stop and which door will open is announced. I like the elevator height view above church steeples, with a passing egret flying by. A view from a car is limited but from up here you'll see much more: Waipahu Mill, neighborhoods, where the extra trains are housed, and more. Where the elevators are you might catch a cool breeze. The train cars are air conditioned. Right now the ridership is in awe with some excitement. Hopefully once the entire system is complete we'll hop onto it again.

With the biggest parking if you're heading east this would be the best choice though getting to the platform itself will be quite a journey though because it's large the benefits are that it's spacious and feeling like Japan with all the stairs I climbed today...maybe I'll lose some weight with this lol! Well with a Skyline filled with occupants it was hot...depends on where you're sitting don't bet on a chill ride depending where you're at though a tad bit rocky I think it's a smooth ride in comparison to some other rail system that I rode. I do like this station as it does have a park and ride with but taking you to to general area that I'm assuming as I'm not from this area and am not familiar other than Kamakana Ali'i, it is what it is and seems to be an option once we figure out the kinks which is what this free ride introduces us too is a good thing. We've taken the rail from the Ho'opili Rail Station a few times now, and it's been a great…read moreexperience each time. We like parking at this station because it's convenient and easy to access. Today (Friday), we arrived around noon and were greeted by a security staff member who was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and provided excellent customer service. He patiently answered all of our questions and made us feel welcome. The ride to the airport took about 18-19 minutes. We did a practice walk from the station to the Hawaiian/Alaska Airlines check-in area, and it was very easy to navigate thanks to the clear directional signs along the way. Afterward, we hopped back on the rail, rode to the last two stations just for fun, and then headed back to Ho'opili. The entire round trip took about an hour. Overall, it was a smooth, clean, and enjoyable experience, and we look forward to riding again.

Leeward Community Collage Students rejoice!!…read more Hālaulani Station has a bunch of newly paved park and ride making it a great use not just for staff and students of LCC which is great since it's right off campus and that's super convenient though I'm not sure if there are bus route nearby. This station is very small that there no escalators just stairs and elevator viewing the stations is giving me great practice for Japan as my cardio is pretty weak. Amazing friendly staff who's very proactive of this ride to the public and am happy to see it going well and am hopeful for the next phases as that will benefit me much more. Thank you!

Dangerously disturbing !!!…read more I took my first Skyline ride a few days ago & noticed the door started to close whether you're ready or not. I want to know why there isn't a safety door stop to avoid someone from being crushed or injured when entering. Especially when there are little children or babies attempting to enter with their parents or guardians !!???? Why in heavens name was this not a MAJOR KICK IN THE HEAD concern when building this foolish thing in the first place!!!! This stop is nuts...I'm the middle of nowhere and I don't see a reason to use this unless you live…read morenearby. There aren't any busses nor parking available as I asked where some folks arriving where they were coming from, looking exhausted and hot from the afternoon Sun it seems like a strange and unthought decision to place this station. This free ride program has opened my eyes to the possibility of using this alternate mode of transportation and how each station has its positive and negatives for that particular user. This station is right outside Pearl Highlands and feels unsafe for elderly or anyone who needs time to cross the street. I hope there will be more improvements to this location or it will be a waste of money. Thank you!
