I had to take a friend to the Dr. and afterwards we decided to try Skyline Hotel and Casino. Parking was in the back of the hotel not in the front. The service was amazing, nicely decorated with things of long ago, very nice. The quality of my food was pretty good, the only issue I had was the temperature of the food. It was all way below warm I was offered to redo it but I was hungry so I ate it anyways. My friend had the special chicken fried steak, he said it was like cutting into a towel and cold. The server mentioned its usually is tough, she offered to redo it but he was hungry and ate the eggs and toast. I didn't post pictures because he made a mess trying to cut it up and it looked nasty! All in All the bill came to $20.00 plus a tip. Nothing was taken off the bill. It's a long ways for me to come here. I can at least say I've been to the Skyline! read more

Me and my husband came here late at night looking for a place to sleep. Kristy was very helpful and kind. She went above and beyond helping us to check in and get us situated. She's super friendly and personable, I couldn't have asked for a better employee to have greeted us last night. The hotel itself is cozy and quiet. I appreciate the antiques and old furniture that are scattered throughout. The room is clean and well stocked, the beds are comfy. They provide you with a coupon for a complimentary breakfast at the casino's restaurant. If you need it, there is a laundry room on the 2nd floor that takes coins. There's a mini fridge if you want to keep your food and drinks cold and ice machines on each floor. I would definitely come back again if I need to stay at a hotel in Las Vegas/Henderson. read more

There is honestly no place like this anywhere in or around Las Vegas. It's the way Vegas used to be and should be! First thing that makes it unique are the coin machines! Yes! That's correct. You can play poker and use coins. There are also hand pays. I hope these never go away because the place will be like every other casino around. The employees are so nice and friendly! They know their jobs and treat their customers like family. You rarely have to wait for a cocktail waitress! They come around approximately every 15 to 20 minutes or less. They have a restaurant with some of the best deals in town! There is a prime rib special for under $15.00. It always tastes great! They also have fantastic breakfast specials. I took a picture of the full price upper cut prime rib with several bites already taken. It was fabulous and under $30.00. I've had several of their sandwiches and they are amazing! The club sandwich lasts me 2 days. The burgers are cooked to perfection and they are also big and delicious. The service is excellent. The place is older but they keep it clean and recently put in new carpet and chairs. There is live entertainment in the evenings and weekends. There is even a dance floor. There is plenty of parking. I tend to spot here whenever go to the junkyard. Why? Because it has one of the cheapest breakfast in town, if you before 11am. I'm not sure if it weekend only though. I came on a Sunday and it was fairly packed, so I sat at the bar. It has a small town vibe and the decor was like a 50s diner. I ordered the country fried chicken. My waitress was very attentive and friendly. Always filling up my water. I found she was from North Michigan. The chicken tasted a little well done, but everything was good. Overall, I would be back. Ohhhh my goodness! Yes! Breaks for under $10! We had 4 people and our bill came to $50 including coffees, 4 breakfast specials, tax and tip. Now that's a deal!! I had the pork chop. Was thick and juicy. Hash browns were nice and crispy, just how I like them! The only thing was that the coffee was basically brown water, but the server was incredible! This place is absolutely amazing and I would recommend it to anyone. We are traveling to Arizona for a funeral and didn't want to stay on the strip like we normally do. So we looked around and decided to stay here. I have always wanted to stay at one of the older hotel/casinos. I honestly wasn't expecting much. But this place was easy to find and as we walked in I was surprised and impressed with how this place looked. It's so clean and easy to get around. As my wife checked in I went to find a bathroom. From the hotel lobby there's a hallway that leads to the casino and the bathrooms. That when I saw how beautiful this place is. It's lay out is really nice. Going back to the lobby I saw the restaurant and decided we should get some supper there. They had a really nice prime rib special. So after checking in we took our bags up to the room and opening the door we could not believe how nice this room was. It's so clean and gorgeous inside. To see a gas fireplace in the room was so cool. Everything is placed perfectly and the bathroom is so clean and very well maintained. This room is huge. We made our way downstairs to eat and had the best meal. The waitress that seated us made me a fresh pot of coffee and another gal came to take our order which of course was the prime rib special. It wasn't very busy so our food took no time at all arriving. The prime rib was delicious and cooked perfectly. We shared a cheesecake dessert and paid our bill then proceeded to the casino to play a little while. We are getting up to start our day and will be having breakfast downstairs before we leave. We are planning to come back through Henderson this week and will be stay here again. I highly recommend you try this place because it's worth it. We have heard so much about this place from Jim Marsh dealership. Today, we came there for lunch followed by my husband and I bringing a hundred dollar bill each. My husband ordered a bud light as we both gambled. We ordered again this time one for each of us. The server brought my drink and not my husband's, Bud light. She said, i could only bring your drink because your husband was not gambling and watching you. She said the bosses were watching her. WTH?? I was appalled! We live in Boulder City and as we were driving into Henderson on Boulder Highway we saw Skyline and realized we haven't been in the restaurant for years. We always enjoyed the food and decided we'd stop in for a late lunch, early dinner. The very first thing we noticed was how clean the Casino was and that the level of smoke was almost nonexistent. After walking around checking out each area we decided they must have done an upgrade to the ventilation system since we were last in. We were greeted and seated for a bite and once again we were struck by how clean the restaurant was, attention to every detail. We perused the menu and asked lots of questions of Gail, our friendly and honest server. I was a bit sad that the fried chicken we'd ordered years ago and was very popular has been changed. So we decided to get the Vegas favorite open face hot turkey sandwiches. It was good, honestly, hot and turkey was moist and tender, mashed potatoes and gravy okay. The gravy is a bit pale and doesn't have a ton of flavor but we both ate almost all of it. I saw other things on the menu that we want to come back and try and found the whole experience very enjoyable. BED -- poor Support was all but depleted from this old spring mattress. Sheets were soft & pillows had fine loft, but the sleep just wasn't... BATH -- poor Some real effort went into this design, evidenced by the nice tile work & electric mirror fixture. Cleaning standards & basic maintenance are just lacking. The exhaust was caked in dust & the shower turnover was noticeably low-effort. TV/ENT./ACTIVITIES -- ok A good setup: wall-mounted 55" Samsung HD smart TV. The extra tight mount & TV solution eliminates any additional connectivity/functionality. There was a tremendous amount of dust buildup around as well. It also looked nothing like the flyer. Not worth the 13.99 (dine-in) or $24 (takeout) sticker. After driving past this place for 8 years I recently saw an ad from Jim and Kelly Marsh recommending this place so we stopped by tonight to try out their restaurant. I had the prime rib special and my wife had the open faced turkey sandwich. The prime rib meal is an excellent value with a large piece of meat, and a large scoop of mashed potatoes. I had the gravy and the au jus and both were good. The turkey sandwich was also excellent with a good portion of meat. We topped it off with a carrot cake that was moist and fresh. Ok so we went there for the prime rib special. On the commercial Stacy talks about how hospitable the place is. We went at lunch time and stood waiting to be seated while a server sat at the bar eating lunch. She just sat there never acknowledging us with any sort greeting at all and finally after 5 minutes, got up, appearing very inconvenienced and said she was on break but she would seat us but our server would be around at some point. Then on the TV commercial, it clearly shows a baked potato on the plate with the $13.95 prime rib special. We requested a loaded baked potato. She said they stopped serving baked potatoes and we could only get mashed. They need to take it out of the commercial. Overall the prime rib was good but wouldn't go back. It seemed like we were more of an inconvenience than a valued customer. Stacy and Jim Marsh from the car dealership/ part owners? really have no clue what they are selling in their commercial. Oh the Skyline--- how we are going to MISS YOU!! No joke, Skyline was our home for 2 months, while waiting for a home of our own. Coming from NYC, I opted for The Skyline Hotel sight-unseen because my priorities were 1) BIG DOG FRIENDLY and 2) NON-SMOKING. But it immediately EXCEEDED our expectations-- and then some. First off, it is CHARMING... antiques and vintage-y furnishings as well as a 1920s-ish western glam decor (I'm making that up, but no joke... that's the way I feel-- very Old School Vegas!). Secondly, the rooms were big compared to your average hotel room. Plenty of parking at all times. A great gym, refreshing pool/ jacuzzi, a laundry room, plenty of nooks and crannies on the premises to sit and read a book, a small lawn for the dog, picnic table out back. And can I rave more about the staff?!? We are going to UTTERLY miss Jamie (dear Jamie... so supportive, understanding, and a beacon of light at the end of a long road (trip) or long road metaphorically toward home ownership... And Rich the meticulous groundskeeper and Perry the security guard keenly aware of everyone's whereabouts on the premises-- both gentlemen were great for early morning conversation while my airedale terrier was on the lookout for the rabbits (that can be found in the surrounding area). And Sue, who may be petite but is MIGHTY and secures the premises like a woman who shouldn't be reckoned with! All security guards are so vigilant-- I felt safe the entire time we were there, at all hours. And the cleaning crew-- ALL SOOOO NICE, and I'm so sorry I don't remember all their names, but will never forget their faces. My husband LOVED that the casino was adjoined and I had to set some limits, haha... we very MUCH plan on returning to play-- as LOCALS this time, not visitors! Line dancing, doo-wop groups-- soo much fun... only thing is... as I told Jamie... they have GOT to get some karaoke in there-- mmk?!? You have no idea how bad I want to blow the roof off with my singing skills... you think I'm kidding. I'm not at all. The restaurant seems to be frequented by locals almost as much as guests, and I know why-- there's a hometown vibe... and it is MUCH appreciated. Waitstaff remember seating preferences and food preferences and quirks-- even after ONE visit!! My husband and I stopped at the barber shop so he could get his hair cut by Mike and then decided to try the restaurant again (we said we were not going back due to lack of good food but we were there so). Sorry to say nothing has changed; I ordered the shrimp dinner and my husband had the fish dinner. The shrimp was cremated and cold, the french fries were cold, also his fish and fries were cold. The waitress never checked back with us and we ate what we could. She then brought the check and we told her about the meal and she said that the cook was the problem. She handed us the check and did not say she would bring someone to talk with us, nor say could she bring something different, etc. I suggested that she talk with Mr. Marsh about the problems in their restaurant. I hope that Mr. Marsh and his family read what happened to us. This was a wonderful restaurant at one time, so sad. We had heard that the restaurant had good food, but frankly, it was even better than we anticipated. The sandwich, the fries, and the service were absolutely great. You used to be super nice. Going a little down hill. My bathroom sink was plugged up. Found out about 10pm. We got in after a 4 hour drive. Lady at desk offered another room. Well after unpacking everything I said no. Had to call again in am because the maintenance man never came. Had to ask for a bath mat because I almost slipped getting out of shower. It's the little things that make a nice hotel. It used to be. And another thing thr restaurant is to expensive for the quality of the food they serve. I guess you need to roll the dice before going here. there are plenty of places just as good or better locally. So most everyone from 'round these parts are very familiar with the quaint little casino bar and restaurant called the Skyline on Boulder Highway......well they've very recently stepped up their game by building a brand new hotel tower. I just so happened to have recently stayed there....surprised? Check in: I was checked in by the hotel manager who seemed very excited about being there. The hotel is only 7 months old, hope this excitement doesn't wear off. Keys in hand i was off to my room. Room: All i could say when i walked in was "wow". the room had this vintage/Wild West feel while being modern all at the same time. I booked an "executive room" so it has a fire place- push the button for 30, 60 or 120 minutes and the flame ignites. It was cool as all heck. There was a large 55 inch television and a refrigerator as well. The bed, being new and all, was extremely comfortable and had some high quality linens. The bathroom was modern looking, spacious and clean. Heres the kicker: It had an automatic toilet.....WITH a heated toilet seat !(you cant even find that at the Bellagio). Walk in, toilet seat raises automatically lights up the bowl and cleans itself! Service: Well one example of the service here is that I casually asked if the front desk had a band aid to which they didn't. 5 minutes later the front desk person took the time and FOUND me (in my room nonetheless) to bring me any first aid supplies i needed. That may sound simple, but i didnt tell them my room number they took the time to find me and thats what was special. I'd love to stay here again- They did what alot of other large resorts didnt do when making this hotel. Oh- not only is parking free but there is NO RESORT FEE. Impressive place. read more

This is a clean comfortable budget hotel. The bed and shower were excellent. Slight smell of tobacco in hallway which is expected given the smoking in the casino. The restaurant has casual standard fare at a reasonable price. It is perfect for a one night stay when traveling through Vegas. Watch your credit card. They charged us for an extra night.
