I was able to select all my bathroom items at the Ferguson showroom in Timonium, which made the process convenient and efficient. The crew was always pleasant and cheerful, and one of my neighbors even commented on how respectful they were--something that means a lot to a condominium owner. Unfortunately, the plastic laid down to protect my bedroom carpet left a sticky film that couldn't be professionally cleaned. 5500 Sq foot home with complicated roof, had a couple leaks in the existing cedar roof…read more Dave took his time helping us select an architectural shingle pattern with comps nearby to make sure our xhoice looked good in person. The estimate would have been accurate except between time of estimate and signed contract plywood (actually OSB) went up in price dramatically and so he met us halfway which we appreciated. The job was done rapidly, with a large and competent team using remote control gantry buckets to lift supplies and remove demolition products... quite the efficient process. There was no damage to our gutter guards or landscaping, all debris was gone and the site was clean. Two years later and we are very pleased. Curb appeal is much improved, thermal efficiency is better and no problems with the roof. Dave responded quickly the two times I've called him since and has been professional throughout.

Buck Run Builders, of Gap, PA, recently completed a major project at our home : replacing 40-year…read moreold cedar siding. The specifications for the work were demanding: the house is a modern 40-year old energy-efficient architectural design that received awards and was photographed for a national magazine when built. We solicited proposals from five firms: two were specialist siding installers, two were general contractors and builders, including Buck Run, and one was a customer home builder. The proposals ranged from $37K to $115K. We eliminated the two siding companies and their low bids because the project was likely beyond their abilities to do the detail fine work required; the high bid was eliminated as simply out of touch with reality. The other finalist was $20K higher than Buck Run for identical work and materials. The chosen material was clear-grade western coastal red cedar, with a novel almost-clear oil finish that is not typically used by local wood suppliers or painters. Buck Run provided material samples, arranged for the finishing to be done before installation, demolished roughly 8,000 linear feet of old siding and 20 electrical outlets and lights, installed proper vapor barrier, installed the new siding, requiring a great deal of detailed fabrication and cutting, and new electrics. The work involved elevations of 45' on one wall, and work above the second floor on deck walls and chimney facings. Gutters were removed, cleaned, and rehung with a stronger support system. Outdoor electrical panels that are part of the service entrance and a generator connection were removed, siding installed, and the panels re-installed. Extras during the project included replacing one exterior door and frame, and extending one roof a few feet over an entry. The work was done in the planned 6 weeks, on budget. Numerous small hidden problems were discovered and repaired during the project, each with consultation and design discussions with the owners. The site was kept clean and orderly every day. One light fixture was damaged during the work, and was promptly replaced with a better quality fixture. This project was by far and away the best repair experience we have had with a builder We own three homes around the country, and have done many projects, some larger than this and most smaller. We are demanding customers and we believe in doing things right the first time.

Owner bid the job and…read moreafter 5 other bids for the same product and warranty he was the lowest by about 10 % so we signed the contract. We were the first roof of the season and were very pleased with the crew that came. They removed two layers of shingles, and installed a quality Owen Corning system including the ridge vents and clean up work all the same day. When they left you could not even tell they were here except for a few marks where the ground was soft which no one could of avoided. They have the greatest lady on clean up that removed every last little piece of debris. Another really impressive way they do business was they did not even require any deposit! I found this very unusual on a construction project not to at least require something for the material purchase, but payment at once in full after satisfaction seems to be their forte. I have worked part of my life in machine shops, doing quality control with tolerances in the microns and also have built 4 homes myself with the exception of HVAC and masonry. I would of done this roof myself but my knees and age did not let me. Really am glad I found R E Kuba and I have already left several other friends know who to go for when they need a job done.

Although often tardy returning calls, Tom was very helpful and responsive early in my re-roofing…read moreprocess. When one of my spouts did not drain correctly he replaced it with a wider gutter. I found him to be a likable man. On or around July of 2013 Tom completed by roof. About 9 months or so thereafter I noticed some of the shingles on the peak of the roof were raising up, and a few on the edges were starting to protrude from the edge of the roof. I spoke to Tom re same, I believe around spring of 2014, and he told me that he would come out and put a cap on the roof peak and remedy whatever else. I did not hear from him and called about 3 months or so later and he said that he would shortly make a time to come out. He also told me that he had some health issues, and I was sympathetic with that as I was also experiencing same. I heard no word from Tom and assumed that he was dealing with his health. I began to call five or six months afterwards again, and continued to do so every 3 months or so, but have never had one of those calls returned. I was told that my roof was under full warranty for 15 years, and that the shingles for either 20 or 30 (it was one or the other- getting old and I don't remember). I helped Tom get two roof jobs subsequent to mine, and am deeply disappointed and angered at his lack of respect for me. I would not use him.
